“Overall a fantastic coding bootcamp”

I never quite understood why coding bootcamps were known to be so "intensive". Now I do. This class is difficult and for good reason. The volume of knowledge absorbed in such a short time is unbelievable. The instructors did a fantastic job instructing all material, the career services department went above and beyond providing opportunities for interview prep.

A good gateway to get in to coding. They provide the all the basic knowledge that you need to get into the field. When you graduated from the course you will get the follow help in finding a job.

“Life Changing Experience”

This review is long overdue, but I can honestly say Codesmith changed my life. It didn’t just teach me software engineering, it taught me how to learn on my own and how to push past challenges. I also met some amazing people who made the journey even better. If you are on the fence about it, my only advice is to go for it. It is completely worth it. Just know what you are signing up for. Codesmith does not babysit you. They give you the tools and the structure, but it is up to you to put in the work. They push you to step up, and that is exactly why you grow so much. It is the perfect mix of being hard enough to inspire you but never so hard that you want to quit. When it comes to the curriculum, I graduated in November 2023, so I am sure some topics have shifted a little, probably more toward things like AI. But the way the course is structured is what makes it so powerful. In the first half you are getting new lectures every single day. It feels overwhelming and you might think you are not learning everything. Everyone feels that way. What you are really doing is collecting all the pieces of the puzzle. Then, when you hit the project stage, everything clicks. That is when your learning grows exponentially. I loved that stage and learned so much. It did not even hit me until I got my first job how prepared I really was. I realized I had skills that people already in the field were missing, like using the terminal and git properly. Trust the process because it works. The job search stage was the hardest part for me. By that point I was already a little burnt out. But the great thing is Codesmith keeps supporting you even after you graduate. They offer resume reviews, interview prep, and career coaching. I had my resume reviewed twice and did four mock interviews. After my first mock interview with Alexander, one of the career coaches, I left with so many tips that every phone screen I had after that turned into a real interview. The support is there, you just have to take advantage of it. Another part that surprised me was the community. I did not think it would matter much, but it ended up being one of the most important things. Your peers are the ones who help you through the tough moments, especially during the job search. I am also grateful to Eric who helped me negotiate my offers and guided me in the right direction. Looking back, I would do it all over again. Codesmith gave me everything I needed to succeed and the support did not stop once the program ended. If you are serious about becoming a software engineer, this is the program to choose.

I recently completed the Codeworks bootcamp, and I can confidently say that it was an incredibly enriching experience. The course is meticulously designed, starting with the fundamentals of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and progressively moving on to full-stack development using Node.js and popular frontend frameworks like Angular and React. The curriculum is well-crafted and ensures that by the end of the course, students are well-prepared to build robust, full-stack applications. I had the pleasure of meeting with Brent a few times, and each interaction reinforced how dedicated and thoughtful the teaching approach at Codeworks is. The bootcamp is demanding, but students who come in with the right mindset—curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones—will thrive. The only instances where I saw students struggle were when they weren't interested in challenging themselves beyond their existing knowledge. That said, even with my 10 years of coding experience, I found the bootcamp to be incredibly valuable. The environment at Codeworks is nothing short of inspiring. The positive atmosphere and the constant encouragement to tackle ambitious projects allowed me to grow in ways I never expected. The course is also great for beginners. Many in my cohort came in with little or no coding experience, and they thrived. The precourse material, completed as part of the application process, does an excellent job of teaching the fundamentals of JavaScript. We also spent the first few days of the bootcamp recapping this material in more detail, providing a solid foundation from which to build for the rest of the course. This approach makes the course approachable for beginners while still being challenging enough for those with more experience. At Codeworks, students also create their own projects, entirely led by themselves, which allows them to build incredible full-stack applications to add to their portfolios. Rather than competing against one another, the students work together, exchanging ideas and knowledge. This sense of community and the drive to build everyone up creates an incredibly supportive atmosphere to enter every day. The same is true of the teacher-student relationship. It’s far more of a mentorship role than that of a typical teacher. By not even the end of the course, more like halfway through, we all felt that the staff on the course were friends and mentors. Rather than just having teachers, I now feel like I have a set of mentors who I can turn to even after finishing the course. It’s great being able to chat with them and exchange ideas and knowledge. They all have incredible depths of knowledge to draw from, and their insights are invaluable. I would recommend being in-person if at all possible, as it helps develop this relationship with the staff and fellow students, and I think these relationships are the most valuable part of the course. I was on the London campus, and it was an incredible experience. We interacted with the other campuses and remote students every day. The remote students are also incredibly well supported and had a great time, but a few admitted that they wished they had chosen to join one of the campuses. They could see how much it helped us to have a physical space and surrounding ourselves with other students and staff added another dimension to our experience. In summary, Codeworks is more than just a coding bootcamp—it’s a transformative experience. Whether you’re a beginner or have years of experience like myself, you’ll find the curriculum, the instructors, and the overall environment to be top-notch. “Highly recommend, would do it again”

Just finished the year-long software engineering residency at Coding Temple and I can't say enough good things about it. The program is the real deal. We worked on an actual production mobile app for an oil services company with real stakeholders, real deadlines, and a real team. By the end of the residency I had built out features touching React Native, Flask, Postgres, AI integration with Gemini and Claude, biometric authentication, GPS proximity verification, and offline-first sync. Nothing toy about any of it. Ellijah, Justin and Sara were a huge part of why this worked. As a teachers and mentors they were incredible support throughout the entire program. Patient with the harder concepts, sharp on code review feedback, and always available when something blocked the team. They treat students like teammates, which is exactly the energy you want when you're learning to work on real codebases. Highly recommend Coding Temple to anyone serious about transitioning into software engineering. The depth is there if you put in the work.

“Simulating the world of tech”

As a former computer science student in college, Flatiron will teach you things I never learned, or even expected to learn, in a coding bootcamp. Upon graduating, I became even more impressed with the overall experience when using the career services. I felt incredibly lost leading up to graduation when thinking about the job hunt because I had no experience in the corporate world. I was not switching careers, but still pursuing my original one. I now feel fully equipped with knowing lots of corporate etiquette and certain formulas and procedures you just have to follow for things. There were a couple downsides, and I'm hoping one was due to a unique situation. I dealt with instructor roulette due to layoffs and curriculum restructuring. Even though I was on the FLEX self-paced path, not having a static instructor the entire time was rough. The other is lack of focus on algorithmic, typical coding questions you will see in tech interviews. There is a curriculum for that post-grad, but I would have liked to learn more and be tested on them during my education.

“Great learning experience ”

Overall the bootcamp was a great experience. Started with css/html culminating in a Javascript based working e-commerce website utilizing industry specific skills such as react and restApi. There were several instructors, 5 at the start. Two were amazing and 1 left after a short while and never replaced. The other two were quite unhelpful overall and it showed when no one would sign up for extra help with them. Overall, always room for improvement but it gave me the knowledge to gain a foothold in the industry and that's all I hoped for.

“HyperionDev Software Engineering Bootcamp”

I had a great experience with the Software Engineering course at HyperionDev. The course is well structured and provides a good balance between learning the theory and putting it into practice through practical projects and exercises. The content helped me build my programming and software development skills while also improving my problem-solving and logical thinking. I particularly appreciated being able to learn at my own pace while still having support available when I needed it. Overall, I’m very happy with the course and the experience I had with HyperionDev. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to develop their software engineering skills or start a career in the tech industry.

“Ironhack Full Time Web Development in Lisbon”

Hello everyone! Before starting the bootcamp I was super scared that I wasn't going to be able to follow the classes and understand the content but it turned out to be way better in so many aspects than I could've ever imagined. From my fellow coleagues, to the professors and to the whole staff of Ironhack everyone helped each other out so much that made the whole bootcamp and the whole proccess of learning new things so much easier. I want to give a special appreciation to Diogo Capitão, the PM on the Lisbon campus for making sure everyone had everything they needed and to attend to everyone's necessities makinhg sure everything went as smoothly as possaible. On a last note I just want to say it was one of the best decisions I made recently and I highly reccoment it to everyone wanting to shift carreers to any of the bootcamps available.

“Absolutely worth the effort”

Launch School is one of those things in life that you give a shot and it ends up being a cornerstone to your life journey. It is absolutely worth every penny, second, and drop of sweat you give it. It is not a "bootcamp" in that you can hope to achieve a career transition or new skillset in 3 months and be going about your new business, or passively spend a few minutes a day and hope to divine a whole profession's worth of insight. The curriculum is long and dense, but perfectly curated to optimize the time you'll spend on it. No frivolous "micro-learning" or shortcuts. I guarantee you that if you're serious about learning this and you're willing to put the effort in, you will absolutely get what you want out of it. I'm seriously so much better off for the career transition I made and could not have done it without Launch School. A special shoutout, too, to their Capstone program. Their Core program feels like a mountain to climb and took me a good year and a half to complete it, but after looking ahead to the job market, I realized how much left there was to learn. They do a fantastic job building on the fundamentals that you've mastered and wrap around it the necessary knowledge of how to plug into a SWE position. Most importantly, too, they offer plenty of job-hunting assistance. Anyone who's spent a while looking for jobs knows how draining it is and having the resources and community backing you up is paramount to keeping a level head and putting your best foot forward on the next interview. The Capstone program is pricey but genuinely the most worthwhile expense I've ever had. If you're still not sure of whether Launch School is for you, dig into the preparatory reading (completely free, at least it was when I went through LS). If it's meant to be, you'll be super jazzed to give it your all after the first few reading assignments. Either way, best of luck whoever's reading this!

“What an amazing experience”

Le Wagon truly changed my life, from all the things I was able to learn in only 9 weeks, all the amazing people I've met whether they are teachers or students, everyone was so kind. Now the only thing I want is to work with them again ! I would recommend Le Wagon to anyone, however be prepared to face some difficulties, it's hard, but thanks to everyone there you'll get through it !

“Comprehensive, supportive experience ”

The coaches are skilled, caring and supportive. They get to know you and really care about your success and wellbeing. The course is very comprehensive and at times intense but not as intense as I was expecting. It was manageable and I learned so much in such a short space of time. I wouldn’t say I felt totally prepared for that first role as a software developer but that’s more because of many companies’ unrealistic expectations on Junior Developers (and maybe a little bit of a self-confidence issue, too - I was a teacher with zero coding experience before making the switch). If you put in the work, you can make that career switch with Makers. They came highly recommended to me and I saw why.

“Life Changing”

I attended the full-time day cohort and graduated 6 months ago and my life is definitely better. Some can say I am biased because I am on the staff page, but I am only there because I volunteer my time at the school. If the school did not provide me with a great experience, I would not be volunteering my time. I do it because I believe in their vision of the community. It is a very fast-paced learning environment. You will work as groups and by yourself and be amazed at what you can create. They are always adjusting and tweaking their programs to offer students the best development tools and skills. It is true the school does not guarantee a job, but they do have a career development team that is very hands-on and very involved. The team will help you put a resume together., evaluate your personal website, help with your linked in profile, help you build your network, organize meet and greets with developers and employers, mock interviews and make recommendations and offer guidance to name a few things that they do. As a non-profit, the school is very vested in producing solid junior developers and helping them get employed. They want to prepare you for your new career, not maximizing profits.

Switching from teaching into the software engineering field was a daunting prospect but joining Parsity helped me transition smoothly. Like many others have said Parsity has great hands-on practical activities and experiences. You deeply learn the principles and apply them. The program is rigorous but if you do the work you will succeed. This program really sets you up to succeed as a software engineer. I gave four stars to job assistance because they are still growing in that aspect. The job talks they set up were hit or miss but they are growing in the right direction. Overall if you are looking to change your career Parsity can help you make that change!

If you take it seriously, practice hard, ask lots of questions, and believe in yourself. You too can finish the program with the confidence you need to bash code from thought and enter the job market your chin held high. TE hosts a solid curriculum that allows even complete novices to quickly gain traction and jump into programming. The instructors are very knowledgeable and want you to succeed. Pathway is an excellent addition with university level instruction on how to enter the job market with your best foot forward. The bootcamp is very intense and fast paced. If you don’t feel comfortable asking for help when you don’t understand, you can find yourself behind the ball in an uncomfortable position.

“Great Experience at The Tech Academy ”

Overall I had a great experience at the The Tech Academy. I recently graduated from the Software Developer Bootcamp. I am currently working with Job Placement to get hired. I learned many programming languages and frameworks and graduated with plenty of knowledge and experience to get hired in the field. Tech Academy has a robust curriculum that can take even the most novice students with no coding experience and give you the tools to be a legitimate developer. They have very encouraging and motivated staff that are ready and available to help out when needed. This was a very intensive program(that is the whole point of a Bootcamp) where you must really be dedicated and willing to put in the time and effort to succeed. With so many lower cost options The Tech Academy can get quite expensive. That being said, there are so many lower cost options that you may dip your toe into the pool of software development but The Tech Academy is really a one-stop shop if you are really serious about being a full-fledged developer. Their curriculum is very extensive. It at times can get a bit repetitive with some of the content but also it is a way to really make the information sink-in. I had a great experience at The Tech Academy and would highly recommend to anyone who is serious about jumping into this field.

Switching to work with coach Victoria Elisabeth was a complete game-changer for my TripleTen experience. While the curriculum provides a strong technical foundation, Victoria made the entire process so much less stressful. The Bootcamp started as a new experience for me and with no previous knowledge i had to learn everything from scratch. we had 4 instructors through the whole course, they all had a good preparation and were always available to help when needed. i Learned things new things that completely changed my view on what a software is and how i look at it, not just basic ui and functionality anymore but code wise and the complexity of every single action it performs. im really grateful to have been a part of this bootcamp, for all i have learned, and what i will make of it in my future. dankie wbs God seën jou ;D

This bootcamp taught me everything I needed to know on how to set up a development environment and workspace on almost any machine in the first few weeks of class! This proved valuable in many situations during and after bootcamp. We Can Code IT covered all of the basics of Java in about 6 months, this was necessary in job hunting which they also played a huge part in mentoring me and enabling me to secure employment within weeks of graduating!
