The staff are incredible, there's no doubt about that. There are too many people to name, but I have to give a special shout-out to my teachers, Justin and Javier.
In the end I found a job through Codeup's hard working placement team. Though it took five months to land after graduation, they definitely fulfilled their job placement guarantee in my case. At the time of enrollment most students won't be thinking what the market conditions are by the time they graduate. Unfortunately, it's been a tough market for new grads. I would keep that in mind when determining a course of action in the job-seeking phase. On the other hand, if you are willing to relocate then that opens up many more opportunities.
As far as the curriculum goes, though it is definitely robust, I think there could be some minor areas of improvement. To be fair, the curriculum regularly gets updated which I think is great.
On a final note, if you're in the San Antonio or Dallas area and looking to join a coding bootcamp, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better option! Codeup definitely gets my recommendation :)
P.S. Full disclosure, I went through the program while it was fully remote. That format seemed to work pretty well for me, though I believe Codeup has resumed their regular in-person format by now.The Bridge

I graduated on January 21 and on January 28 I had a very good job offer (starting 2 weeks later). This is for a full time permanent position.
The teachers were excellent, always able to both keep us on track while also indulging our questions and expanding on concepts as we were interested.
The 3 month program was very intense (I spent 8am to 10pm focused on school or eating during the week with significant weekend hours too) and broken into 3 sections each roughly a month. Part one was learning Python at a very fast pace, part 2 was learning data analysis and engineering tools and libraries with Python, and part 3 was working on a personal and a group project with daily checkins and a few classes.
Aside from the technical classes there were professional development sessions that I found very valuable. Once we were about half-way through we also had the opportunity to do mock-interviews so that we were ready to show our best selves and get hired at the end of the course. Most students had at least 5 mock-interviews and there was the ability to have significantly more.
The week after classes is reserved for interviews with hiring partners of the school in which I had 4 interviews that would credibly lead to job offers (one of which did, one of which I flubbed, and two of which could have gone somewhere perhaps). These were not interviews that were just to show effort, they were legitimate interviews with local companies or remote positions from places that had a relationship with the school and had hired past students.
The people in charge are constantly in touch with industry making sure to cover the skills that are in demand. The curriculum is fresh, and I have the impression that it is constantly evolving rather than getting stale and then being updated.
If you can dedicate the time and put in effort, Zip Code Wilmington provides both in the education and the job support. - 78Reviews6CoursesNorthwestern Boot Camps offer 12-week, full-time, or 24-week, part-time web development courses, and 24-week, part-time data science, cybersecurity, UX/UI, a... I have no previous experience working in IT so I was a bit concerned with making a career change. From the first week of class I felt like I had found what I was looking for, a program to set me up for an entry level position in cybersecurity.John Hui has been my instructor for this Bootcamp. He is very knowledgable on the topics covered and is willing to give real-world examples to help you learn. John is a master at giving you just enough knowledge to find answers on your own. Often a cryptic response to your question will lead you to an “Aha!” moment. This sense of discovery is very gratifying and pushes me to learn more. The syllabus will guide you through controlling a computer in the command line to building an entire functional cloud system and beyond. The course materials, assignments, projects, and career resources are a complete package. There were about 30 people in a class and 1 instructor and 2 TAs. The course was remote and taught over Zoom used with Slack. I was able to learn multiple concepts needed to become a Full Stack Developer. We would get assignments that we were put in a breakout room to complete and get experience after the instructor finished teaching the concept. The instructors and TAs would join the rooms and help us with any difficulties.
Some other perks I found helpful was the fact that I was assigned a tutor who I could work one on one with for an hour every week, I got experience collaborating with other people on projects, I received feedback on my career materials, and I got assigned a career coach I could meet with after graduation to assist with the job search.
Only complaint I have is that some of the other people in my class were lazy and not very intelligent and wouldn't help with projects and managed to be a burden. I don't mind helping people out when they run into problems when they pay attention to what I am saying and learn. I had some people who I helped out in the Boot Camp who were genuinely trying to improve and ended up becoming better after I helped them and it made them willing to help me out but I wasted hours trying to teach certain people simple concepts that they couldn't understand after they wouldn't put any effort into the class. This isn't entirely the fault of the school as they had a process of checking the people who applied. This is something that will happen anywhere though and it is good to know how to handle situations like this in life.
I am able to recommend the Boot Camp and say that it was helpful for me. I am currently seeking a job and can say that I have received good help with programming and job seeking. - 65Reviews4CoursesBarcelona Code School offers a 9-week full-time Full-Stack JavaScript Bootcamp in Barcelona, Spain and online. After a lifetime of trauma, pain, and abusing alcohol I went into rehab in South Dakota to treat my alcoholism and start a new life. Upon graduating from the rehabilitation program I pursued my lifelong dream of moving to Florida. There, I met my husband, and together we brought my beautiful, intelligent, spicey daughter into the world. My previous education and passion had brought me into the world of Veterinary medicine as a Veterinary Technician where I found myself exhausted and overwhelmed, unable to enjoy time with family. I quickly realized that to enjoy watching my daughter grow I needed a change. A passing, "What if?" brought me to the homepage of the University of Central Florida as I read about these "boot camps" I had been hearing about. Before the end of the day, I was on the phone giggling and swapping stories with an admissions counselor for the University. An important thing to note, I have severe clinical social anxiety and it's very hard for me to hold a conversation longer than 10 minutes; I had signed up for a phone call with this counselor, chickened out, and canceled. By the end of the hour, my phone rang with a call from this counselor, eager to bring me into the wonderful world of the University of Central Florida's full-stack coding boot camp. Without her, this story would have ended here. I thank God every day now for that woman.
If you're still with me, you might be asking if I'm ever going to get to the review of the boot camp itself. We're there, folks- thanks for hanging in there. My boot camp began with the pre-work. This was a class to prepare me for the boot camp itself. I was crying by the end of it. My submission comment for the last activity in the boot camp was, "I have no idea what I'm doing :(". I walked into the boot camp on day one defeated, broken, and pessimistic about my capabilities. But I was coming up on 9 months of sobriety at that point and knew that if I committed to believing in myself, I could get through this. Within minutes, we were off to the races. We met our Student Success Manager, Barbara Murphy. She radiated confidence- I could see in the webcam of each of my classmates that we were scooting closer and closer to the computer as Barbara prepared us for greatness. Then, she passed us off to our professor, JW Dinsmore.
Professor Dinsmore can be best described as the King of Hype. As royalty myself, being the Queen of Pessimism and Self Doubt, I was excited within seconds of him talking to get started. I can't discredit his ability to be realistic, however. He cautioned us that this would be the hardest thing we would do in our lives, and he wasn't wrong. I was hesitant at first about how one professor could handle teaching a two-year degree in three months, especially with approximately 55 other students. John came well equipped, though, with some amazing developers at his side in the form of teacher's assistants. Seth Wooten, Ross McWey, Donaldson Roessling, and Mark Elliott took us under their wing and guided us through the program's highs and lows with all the faith in the world that each of us could come out of this boot camp as complete rockstars and ready to jump into the industry of full stack developing. And we did.
While attending the bootcamp I experienced a number of hardships. I lost my home, moved across the state, was hit by two hurricanes, developed a seizure disorder, gone to the hospital and multiple occassions, and only have a roof over my family's head because of the selflessness of my in-laws. All of my belongings are currently in a storage unit and we're living out of a suitcase. Internet access has been difficult to maintain and I fell extremely behind in my coursework. Through all of this, my professor, TA's, and student success manager have supported me as I raced like The Flash through my coursework to catch up. With my social anxiety, I was finding it difficult to ask for help and they noticed me falling behind and suffering in silence and proactively sought to help me. Finding that kind of help in continuing education over remote learning is critical, essential, and life changing. Without their support and the help of my fellow classmates, this life changing opportunity would have fallen through my fingers and I would have had to return to the long suffering business of Veterinary Medicine. (Off topic, folks, but please be kind to your veterinary professionals. The suicide rate in that industry is the number one in the world and seven times the rate of it's succeeder for a reason. I truly can't describe the transition each of my classmates and I went through from day one at the boot camp to now, a week before the presentation day of our final projects. A day one activity, for example, was changing the main header to read, "Student Bio". I'm now working on building my react portfolio and trying to add the game "Duck Hunt" to it. We're all sharing our portfolios with each other and amazed at the creativity, skill, and talent that shows in each portfolio. As God is a witness because I've said it in my prayers for their success if I had Elon Musk's fortune to build a programming company I would hire every single one of my classmates. There aren't enough adjectives in the English language to describe them. They're artists, engineers, teachers, postal workers, Uber drivers, anime enthusiasts, comedians, and family. Our cohort is strong and laced with friendship, respect, and comradery. And now they can add one more adjective to them- developers. God bless, classmates. This was a wild, exciting ride and I'm so grateful I got to do it with all of you as Knights from the University of Central Florida. - 62Reviews2CoursesYellow Tail Tech offers online AWS DevOps Engineer (44 weeks) and Linux System Administrator (24 weeks) bootcamps. Yellow Tail Tech also provided an internship platform for me once I successfully complete the course and pass the certification exams, unlike traditional schools which often pays attention to the academic terms with little or no emphasis made to provide job environment experiences after the program.
My instructors are also products of this IT online bootcamp who graduated from the same program I’m enrolled in. They came in with no background in IT but made it to the top from the IT online program. This motivates me to be successful in my IT career. They are extensively skillful, proficient, and down-to-earth with every student’s opinion and experiences, and always encourages collaborating and laying emphasis on working hard.I’m happy and proud to be a part of the Yellow Tail Tech learning community and infrastructure.

Read MoreI will recommend this course to those who are interested in Web development and ready to work hard. The past 3 months it was a great learning experience for me because- Excellent instructors. Our instructor Ben encouraged and supported us a lot. He explained each concept really well and after that made sure everyone understood that topic. Max (our T.A. ) is also a dedicated instructor. Both of them were available during and after office hours when we had questions. I appreciated their patience and dedication. We were lucky to have them as our instructors.
- During this course, we learned 20+ concepts, that are essential and advanced in web development. We got experience in working on group projects. To those who are planning to join this course:- Every week I spend an average of 50+ hours (including attending class). Still, it was exciting for me to attend the class every morning. I strongly believe the time I spend and hard work is worth enough.
- I just started to use the career service. So I think it is too early to rate their service. But the feedback I got about my career material was really helpful.
- The support I got from AskBcs and our SSM was also great.
So thank you so much to the Bootcamp team. All the best to the new students.

Read MoreBefore enrolling in the course I had interviewed for a few tech and research-oriented positions in my field and failed to move past the last stages of the process, so I decided that I needed to get better prepared to meet the demands of today's data-driven world. This Bootcamp's curriculum covers a lot of ground and it succeeds to stay within industry-standard tools and practices that have given me the confidence to work with real-life data analytics and data engineering tasks. The Bootcamp doesn't require a computer science background but it helps to have university-grade foundations in computation, mathematics, and statistics as well as some experience with programming languages. On many occasions, because of the fast pace of the program, I wished I had more time to deepen my knowledge of certain topics and tools like web technologies, cloud computing, and Python libraries, but at least the curriculum revisits them later on and expands on them appropriately. The career services are good but it's hard to prioritize them early on with so much going on in the lessons and assignments. The way I get the most out of the course is by being confident using everyday tools like Git, Google, the command line, and code editors, as they can get in the way of learning more complex topics further down the road. The rest is applying the course materials in whatever interests you the most. The first 4-6 weeks can be difficult as you adapt to the schedule but it gets easier once you make a habit of learning and practicing technical skills while progressively becoming a better data analyst.... As a derivatives trader, I wanted the ability to work with data in a way I couldn't without knowing how to program. Little did I realize that I would get SO much more from this course. The instructor has been one of the most enlightening, energetic, and brilliant individuals I have ever met -- and I learned so much more than just how to write in Python. He broke down concepts like statistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, creating databases -- into concepts I not only understand, but can program myself. Collaborating and delivering worthwhile projects on time, learning how to approach problems and delegate tasks to team members -- this course was much more than just a how-to in python. In 6 months my friends who are programmers are blown away but what I can do now.... Read Less

Obviously the course is no magic, there are some people who expect to automaticlly get jobs with crazy salaries just because they did the course, the course is an amazing helping tool but if you wont try hard no course whould help you.

Teachers were dedicated, patient, supportive and did their best for us to understand the material. We also had daily QA sessions where you shamelessly ask any question to clear any doubts you might have.
The thing I really loved was the good balance between theory and practice. A typical day is divided into lectures in the morning, lunch break, coding, coding, coding and QA session to close the day. So be ready to roll up your sleeves and work hard :) It was not uncommon to work sometimes over the weekend to complete assignments or projects.
Career coaching is also something positive I'll like to mention. We got trained on how to write a good CV and cover letter, how to prepare for interviews, and even had interview simulations to put it into practice. During the job hunting period, you get assigned someone from the career coaching team to help you with any questions you might have.
I highly recommend Epicode to anyone with the desire and determination to make it into the tech world !!!- 59Reviews6CoursesGW Boot Camps offer 12-week, full-time or 24-week, part-time web development courses, 24-week, part-time data analytics, cybersecurity, UX/UI, and financial ... Read MoreI took the data analytics bootcamp with little programming background, yet for the sole purpose of improving my skills as entrepreneur, or better put, “not to be dumb in today's data driven/informed world”. What I experienced was far more than what I expected. After 6 months of the bootcamp, I was not just equipped with skills to confidently use python to extract data from different sources, transform and load it into databases (including into salesforce as a bonus), analyzing the data and building predictive models with machine learning and finally visualizing the results with a professional look using JavaScript, but the bootcamp covered a very wide range of topics with a hands on approach that helped one to learn how to work in teams and even lead.
My experience goes without mentioning my instructor, Dartanion Williams and his team. Dartanion did not only put in the hours but will cunningly used a combination of tough love and loads of patience such that no one was left behind, and yet those sought a more challenging experience were satisfied too. More personally, I was coached on team management skills in the world of programming and data analysis-a priceless lesson for any entrepreneur. This is a bootcamp I would recommend without hesitation to anyone with dedication to see it through.... Read Less
