Udacity offers Nanodegrees which are online immersive full-time and part-time programs, ranging from three to six months in length for students worldwide. Nanodegree courses are available in subjects like data science, artificial intelligence, programming, autonomous systems, business, and cloud computing. Udacity's mission is to bring the highest quality learning to as many students as possible, powering careers through technical education. The custom learning program enables students to learn at their own pace, and manage monthly payments for their programs to fit their budgets. The data science curricula cover Kaggle, Tableau, Alteryx, and Mode platforms; the AI programs cover deep learning, machine learning and AI for trading; and the programming courses include Blockchain, full stack development, and Autonomous Systems programs like Computer Vision, Localization, and Path Planning. Curricula are designed in partnership with established tech companies.

Applicants should enroll after reviewing the courses available and the start dates for those courses. Some Udacity Nanodegrees programs have prerequisites, which are stated for each program. Udacity offers several programs for beginners that are designed to equip students with the foundational skills needed for an eventual technology career or for enrollment in a more advanced career-track Nanodegree program.

All of Udacity's Nanodegree coding bootcamps include real-world projects from industry experts, one-on-one technical mentoring, and career coaching and services. Upon graduation, the coaching services ensure the student has experience in the best interviewing techniques and expertise for fine-tuning their resumes.

After finishing my Nanodegree I can say Udacity provides the best online courses ever on the web.

The course is well structured and you can learn not only the basis of the Frontend web developing but also advanced topics like design patterns, accessibility, web tooling & automation, reactJS and a lot of other important & interesting topics to learn.

The courses are very well written, taught by leaders in industry and education such as experts from Google & Facebook .

The Nanodegree also offers good resources such as:

      - Videos.

      - Repositories with the code you need for the exercises or projects.

      - Community Forums & Slack channels.

      - Coach Appointments.

      - A very interesting Career Resource Center.

I loved the course videos as they are short and straight to the point which helped me to understand most concepts quickly and accurately.

You get practical projects that lead to a portfolio showcasing the skills you have learned, each project comes with a grading rubric and a code reviewer goes through your project line-by-line and offers inline feedback where appropriate. The reviewers I met were pleasant and helpful as providing good tips & suggestions for improving your code professionalism level.

They are constantly developing the platform so expect to see improvements and interesting additions in their courses.

I definitely recommend this Nanodegree to every one looking to gain, increase and master frontend development skills.

Overall, I was happy with what I learned at Udacity Deep Learning course. The curriculum and the instructors were great.

Now, about the "not challenging enough" part. I have to say, the projects are fun, close to reality, and helpful. However, close to the end of the program, some projects have a lot of copy and paste solution from the lessons. For example, in the last project, which is deploying a deep learning model on Amazon Sage Maker, I found myself doing a lot of copying code from the lessons.

Some might say I should not copy the code, instead, I should type it down. Well, these are configuration lines for deployment. Nobody will try to remember them, that's impractical.

Make no mistake, I love the program, that's why I gave it 5/5 stars. Furthermore, I would love the program to improve even more!

If you're an experienced coder and are curious about taking Udacity's AI nanodegreethere were five things that helped me make a decision.

I wish future me would have sent me this info back when I was trying to decide. I could have saved lots of time and fear of wasting my money.

Well, future me is here now. I wrote this review in hopes it will help you make your decision to go forward with the Udacity AI nanodegree or not.

[ to see the entire post goto [http://www.thedevpreneur.com/2017/11/26/udacity-ai-nano-degree-review-coders/]

      1) Self learning AI is not working for you

How the Udacity AI nanodegree is better than self learning:

      1. Provided a clear definition of "artificial Intelligence" beyond the trivial wikipedia version
      2.  A structured list or map of all the areas of AI and how they relate.
      3. Created clarity on how to clarify problems to identify how to solve them with our without AI.
      4. Because I had to drop big $$$, I got a sense of urgency and co
      5. mmitment. This drove me to carve out time in my week and get it done.
      6. Focused in on the key areas of AI. There is way too much information out there, I got guidance on whats hot and making the biggest impacts in the field of AI.

As trivial as these points seemed, the nanodegree gave me a new perspective. It provided me understanding beyond what I could price together on my own. It also gave me focus and forced me to commit to learning in a finite time frame.

      2) You hate reading white papers

Here are some ways Udacity structured the information:

      1. Simple animated illustrations for complex topics. This was one of the best parts of the content.
      2.  Ease in beginners to reading white papers and only require some reading to complete some projects.
      3. Introductory lessons on math notations and core CS concepts needed to understand  AI white papers.
      4. The instructor team acknowledged that white papers are currently the best source for latest on AI advancements. The cool thing is that material only referenced white papers as additional reading in most lessons.

Bottom line the Udacity Material is way more beginner friendly than anything I have come across for free on the web .

      3) You keep looking for the AI hello world example

How Udacity was not too academic:

      1. Although the general structure was still academically oriented and bottom up, they broke theory up into small consumable pieces.
      2.  Lessons were supplemented with practical examples to reinforce what was taught.
      3. Many of the examples provided, were based on real problems being solved in industry.

The AI nanodegree still feels academic in nature but had enough practical examples to keep me interested.

      4) You have a hard time justifying the price

How Udacity was more than an online course:

      1. The team at Udacity will assign a  personal mentor to give you 1 on 1 answers and guidance.
      2.  A career prep supplement with resume writing and networking tips and best practices.
      3. Very active Slack community covering industry news, events, project discussion and contests.
      4. Multiple required projects with code reviews and automated tests with scoring rubrics.
      5. Life time access to all content with future updates.

Even with all these add-ons, the cost felt a little on the higher end of what I'm comfortable with. Add-ons like the career advice is more targeted to junior candidates. On the other hand, the 1 on 1 mentor was very valuable and something you don't get with typical online courses.

      5) You don't feel you meet the prerequisites

The prerequisites your really need  before you take the Udacity AI nanodegree:

      1. Python basics with focus on looping, recursion and data structures
      2. Using jupyter notebooks with python
      3.  Condition and non-conditional probability basics.
      4. Some calculus with focus on derivatives if you really want to get into the theory.
      5. Very basic linear algebra with focus on matrics multiplication.

The area that slowed me down the most was not the math. The Ai nanodegree covered most of the math  in refreshers and intros. I did struggle with figuring out efficient way to manipulate data using python and data libraries like numpy.

Don't get intimidated by the math  prerequisites. If you're a good coder you shouldn't have too much difficulty getting through it.

I still would highly recommend doing as much pre learning in all the math areas mentioned. If you want to get the most for your $$$, you need to understand the theory and that requires understanding the math.

      So was it worth it?

I had a positive experience with the AI nano-degree and would recommend it to any developer willing to drop the $$$. Go for it if you're looking for the fastest way to learn a whole boat load of AI in a relatively short time.  Just like any paid education, you get out of it what you put in. So make sure you prep well and slice out enough time in your week to maximize your learning.

I've finished the Frontend Developer Nanodegree in August 2018, thanks to a scholarship provided by Google. I've never coded in my life before, but the course gave me all the basic tools needed to understand and learn more about web development. In other words, they did a great job teaching me how to ride a nice bike :)

The mentorship and the support provided by Udacity is overall very good. I've found extremely useful the project reviews, where a real developer was reviewing my code, providing extremely useful feedback. All the projects are then showed in your GitHub account, and this means that you can use them as a personal portfolio.

After the end of the course, I've also decided to use their "career support". It consists of quite many projects, whose goal is to improve your CV, your LinkedIn profile and to learn how to behave during a technical interview.
In November 2018 (2 months after the "graduation"), I've received my first traineeship offer as a frontend developer and today I'm a happy junior developer.

I can only warmly recommend this course cause it re-pays itself after few months ;)

The course gives a good introduction into three main topics of data analysis: Python coding, SQL and Tableau.

To me, the Python was not challenging, but a good ramp up and a reminder of good practices. Solutions are well written and the concepts introduced in a step-by-step manner. I think this is a well-guided course and certainly better for many people compared to a tutorial.

The Tableau part was my least favourite. I do have good skills in excel. That is enough to get around with Tableau and could do the project without having to look at the lectures at all. I wish the project for Tableau would have been a challenge at all.

However, the SQL part was awesome. There are additional materials that challenge you through quite complex and nested queries ('SQL Mania') and it is here, where I gained most from this Nanodegree.

So here I am sitting on my Laptop at the same place from where i satrted my udacity Journey.

But a lot has changed between that time and  now.

I will try to summarise my whole story in few point by telling my life events before and after getting graduated from udacity full-stack web developer course.

      Before Starting Udacity Course:

      1. It was October 2017 and I was in my 3rd year of my B.E grad and Did Multiple Courses related to web developement multiple times still have no clue how exactly web developer's works.
      2. Got rejected from atleast 3-4 company for not answering simple conceptual web questions
      3. No idea of How to Use Git or Github
      4. Studied computer Networking in my college but still had no clue, how exactly that works
      5. No Idea how to contribute in open source.
      6. I always have to rewatch the courses video that I did in order to revise(not knowing how to get help from documentation)
      7. Never had confidence that i can work on some new framework unless i have done any course on that for atleast 2 - 3 month
      8. Never had any experience of inerview specifically for web developer as a fresher

      After Starting Udacity Course:

      1. I was the the only fresher in my batch who gave KT to  People who are senior to me in the both the organisation that i have worked.
      2. Withing a year that i have graduated, I have a total of 4 offer letters in hand. and got the oppurtunity to work in two company one of which is a multinational company
      3. I have around 100 repository in github.
      4. Got my first offer letter in an MNC for explaining how web works from front to back
      5. More than 40 open source contribution
      6. Now i don't need to watch videos if a new framework is thrown at me in work with the knowledge of how to use documentation that i learnt from udacity
      7. Never had confidence that i can work on some new framework unless i have done any course on that Now i start working on same day or next day if a new framework is thrown at me
      8. Got the oppurtunity to attend real interview for web development while i was doing the course itself which helped me a lot when i started giving interviews after i finished as i knew what are the usual questions that are asked in web develpment interviews

So this is my real life story how udacity changed my life and transformed me from 0 to Hero

Best money I've ever spent in my life! This course is a great place where to start from if you want to be a front end developer or you are one already but looking to improve your skills. I was a self taught front end developer and doing this course shone so much light on every foundamental concept of FED. I've gained so much more confidence, my work quality has improved noticibly and I smashed job interviews! I honestly recommend this course to everyone interested in this sector. Even though it's slightly expensive it's a great value for the money and I didn't regret investing on it :)

The course was really helpfull and I've learned a lot, although it would've been better if it has an Arabic section in the writing chapter, because my audience are Arabic people and that would've been a good practice.

The instructor was amazing and he was very helpfull and intractive.

The overall experience and the platform it self is really amazing and user friendly .

Learning has never been so open, as it is now and with the ever increasing wave of technology sweeping the shores of this tech savvy world, MOOCs (massive open online courses) have become  one of the best ways to get access to top notch education at the time and pace of one’s own convenience.

For me learning the nuances of front end web development with Udacity’s Front End Nanodegree Program was indeed a delightful and career changing experience. I come from a mechanical engineering discipline with a humble background in computer science and took the program alongside my job. The Nanodegree Programs are crafted and designed such that every individual who is willing to learn and grow, can take advantage of these career advancing educational platforms.I got my first web development job when I was halfway through the program, which was quite an achievement.

Full marks to Udacity forums and coaches for promptly and patiently answering  my silliest of the queries. I would not say that the road to graduation is easy, especially if you are a working professional. It requires some grit and dedication on part of the student  to stick with the program until the end. My advice to the incoming Nanodegree students would be to make the fullest use of the discussion forums and one-to-one appointments with the udacity coaches . It is the best way to get going when you get stuck and believe me you will get stuck. It is part and parcel of a new learning curve. Also make sure that you give honest and sincere attempts to the meticulously prepared quizzes in between the lectures. They will eventually make your life easy when you attempt projects at the end of the courses.  I personally feel that if we actually intend to learn from an online course we need to get our hands dirty.Listening to lectures over the internet is great, but to manufacture professional skills out of the time and patience we have given to these lessons, we better ensure we make the learning from those lessons practical. This is what nanodegree does best.It makes sure we implement what we learn in form of project submissions and review feedback on the projects. Trust me projects are where the actual learning happens. They make sure we know what we think we know.

Thank-you Udacity for the wonderful educational experience. I currently work as a senior frontend engineer at Porter.in, India. Porter is logictic startup operating across 7+ cities in Indian and is a one stop logistic solution for all your daily needs

Udacity is doing a phenomenal role in providing quality content from Tech Giants, making its students Industry Ready. The course curriculum, video contents are structured to make the students conformable with what they are learning and also make them upskill by working projects. The mentoring service is also very good where we get one-on-one mentorship, that too making these service available 24x7 since the mentors are from across the globe. The course contents are designed for everyone so that even an absolute beginner can learn easily. There are many courses that are specially designed for the beginner so that they get the concepts cleared from scratch.

I am Google India Scholar, pursued Android Developer Nanodegree. I had a very good mentorship where I will get my queries clarified within minutes, still, I could remember that the maximum time taken to reply was about 30 minutes. Being part of Udacity was not only this, but the community we had was very great. We had loads of interaction, discussions, and fun. The cool part was I made friends from all over India Just by being part of this community. I also a Python Foundation Nanodegree Graduate.

Now I am very confident in working with Android and also very comfortable learning new stuff on my own.

Udacity is the must go online course for me, to make myself Industry ready!

I have found the nanodegree to be highly helpful! I have finished the Basic Android Nanodegree and now going for Full Stack Developer. The video tutorials are split into sections and every section is compulsory for learning perspective. At the end of the section there is an assignment which challenges you to think and sometimes also do further research on the topic. The feedback on these assignments are excellent. It is just like the feedback given by the professors at the University. There is a mentor which is been allotted to all Who is there to guide and assist you at any stage. I would highly recommend doing the Nanodegrees.
