The educators (Brad, Jamie and Josh) were amazing during the 12 weeks, always positive, supportive and giving good feedback.
Still talking about the educators, I want to highlight when Jamie shared a schedule to help us better organize our work time. After that, I started creating schedules to manage my time better, and it was a game-changing moment for my productivity.
The BrainStation team, in general, is always trying to help and be available for the students, so try to use their help anytime you need it.
After this experience, I truly understand what my next steps need to be to find a job and start working on this career that I am pursuing.

I came to this review site before quitting my job and doing this bootcamp, so I thought it would be nice to come full circle and leave a review after starting mI came to this review site before quitting my job and doing this bootcamp, so I thought it would be nice to come full circle and leave a review after starting my career in tech. Overall, the bootcamp is great - you learn a lot in a short amount of time. I would recommend a bootcamp if you are in a hurry to change careers. That being said, LHL is not responsible for the overarching job market / economic climate. When I graduated every tech giant was doing mass layoffs. Bear that in mind before making a decision. Nothing is guaranteed. After a total of 8 months (which includes 3months of bootcamp) i finally landed a junior dev role. And I was lucky. That being said, the support from career services was good. They help where they can. If I were to use an analogy: they are a passenger in the car you are driving. Is it worth the money? I'm not sure. I think that they do a lot of behind-the-scenes work that indirectly benefited me.
Overall, if you are passionate about tech and want to start your career, give it a go. Life is too short.
For curriculum I would prefer not spending a week on Ruby. I think the curriculum would be better served with an extra week with React or learning Typescript. Pivoting out of Javascript for a week didn't feel worth it to me. On top of that none of the TAs who picked up my request-tickets knew the language. Last November I subbed for a guy at a theater who was leaving to take a coding bootcamp. I was like, wait, a what camp? You mean I can learn how to do this coding thing for real?
Last week I launched my app, built from the ground up in Java and Spring, with the things I learned from Coding Nomads. Feels great!
Coding Nomads has been great. I liked it so much that I started their Javascript course recently. Here's what the founder said about my capstone project: "Your capstone is among the best we've ever seen here at CodingNomads and we've worked with hundreds of students. So, job well done!"
My intention is not to leave pro audio, but I do see software development as my next career act. Ideally, I'd like to keep building Tracebook and SubAligner, while doing freelance development work for manufacturers, AV companies, and the live event industry.

I first started coding almost a year before signing up for this bootcamp whilst on maternity leave. I found online, self-paced courses useful but eventually hit a wall in my learning. I then discovered Codeop's bootcamp online and after many months of conversations with the admissions team, I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for it! I don't regret it for a second! As a 40+ career changer (ex-teacher) with two young children, I found the course challenging but manageable due to the inclusive and supportive environment. The lecture phase was fast moving but extremely comprehensive. I didn't understand all the concepts immediately but benefitted from sessions with the TA on the course to stay on track. By the time we got to the project phase, it was a lot of fun to put the concepts we had been taught into practice. I can now build a full stack app from scratch and collaborate on other projects on Github. The career weeks were especially useful to re write my CV and create an appealing LinkedIn profile.
