Learn Java at These 179 Java Bootcamps

The short version. I believe that this course is good for complete beginners but it is too expensive for the value you get. That's in regards to the knowledge you come out of the program with and your chances of breaking into an engineering role, particularly in this economy. If you are going to go through with the course, I highly recommend taking only 1 stack (i.e., language). They're extremely similar and it's not possible to become proficient in multiple languages during the course's timeframe. Honestly, my biggest regret in this course was taking more than 1 stack. The longer version. Background. A bit background on me for comparison sake if it helps with your decision making. I've worked a bunch of corporate jobs from finance to consulting. I'm good at excel but was a complete beginner at coding. I started learning how to code on my own about 4 months prior to enrolling into the bootcamp. I ultimately decided to enroll because I wanted to accelerate my learning with the thought that the bootcamp would significantly decrease the amount of time it took me to get a job. I came in knowing that bootcamps in general are not a golden ticket into a software development role, and that ultimately, you get out what you put in. Curriculum. I took two stacks, Python and MERN (Javascript). I definitely did learn a few things during the program. However, I was surprised to see a number of lessons in the curriculum were simply links to other sites. In fact, the very most I learned during the program was during the lesson on CSS and the curriculum was basically all links to lessons you could find for free, such as Flexbox Froggy. I do want to make it clear that you do learn the basics of programming from loops, data types and conditionals. You also come out of each stack being able to build a basic app, learning how to build the frontend, backend and connect the two. However, I knew most of the material already even though I had been learning how to code for 4 months prior, using free resources. There's definitely value of having structure and guidance (although Chat-GPT could fill that role) so if that's a reason why you want to join the program then that's a great decision too. Just please don't take more than 1 stack. I think MERN is the best because you learn react and that's a very popular frontend framework. The stacks are basically copies of each other and I didn't gain any additional value, but it was expensive. The bootcamp sells you on the importance of learning multiple languages but once you have the foundational knowledge of a language, it's all syntax from there. You're likely gonna forget the first stack's language nuances by the time you're done with the second stack anyways, and I think it's more important to show that you're proficient at coding through your projects. That becomes a lot easier when you stick to one language. Teachers and Teacher Assistants. The bootcamp has multiple lectures weekly and also provides TA support throughout the afternoon / evening. I found both the teachers and TA's to be very nice and knowledgable about the curriculum. They're former students, which is definitely helping the bootcamps employment numbers. There are moments where it's still clear that the teachers and TA's learned coding fairly recently. As I mentioned in the curriculum section, you get taught the basics and if you need help with that level of knowledge, then the support is great. Step a little outside of that boundary and you don't get much support. I visited the TA's about a number of times during the course with questions that were just a step or two deeper into what was being taught in the curriculum and I genuinely can't remember a time when they answered my question. One TA even explained that it's a skill to be able to find an answer by myself, which is true but I'm also paying over $12K for you to help guide me. Chat-GPT became popular during my time in this course and I can confidently say that it has been so much more helpful than Coding Dojo. Career Support. A big reason why I chose Coding Dojo was the lifetime career support. It sounds amazing and ultimately the reason why many people choose to join a bootcamp is to get a job. The people who you will work with are kind. I had a great experience interacting with them on a personal level, but they provided me with limited help. I didn't use all of their resources to be fair. I did use them for guidance on how to approach the job search, my resume, and review of my portfolio website. For guidance, it was very high level. For example, you should build out a portfolio website highlighting projects, get your resume together, and look at jobs on these sites. When I was talking to the sales rep, it seemed as if Coding Dojo had a lot more relationship or pipelines with companies looking to hire. However, at present there were no relationships like that. Part of that is the economy but it did not seem like there were many to begin with. For my resume and portfolio website, I just got a lot of praise or minor edits. If you come from a career path where you have experience writing a corporate resume then the career services in my opinion will not provide significant value. Especially if you also know where to look for jobs (BuiltIn, Wellfound, Y Combinator's website). These jobs aren't necessarily hard to find. However, if you're coming for less adjacent field then there is definitely value here. Conclusion. After going through a bootcamp, I understand all the comments about how bootcamp is not a golden ticket into a software development role. Yet, it can still be useful. The question is whether it is worth the cost. I say maybe, but only if it's for one stack. Also, I suggest part time if you can rather than full time because it's not going to be easy to break into engineering after this program. If you can be self-taught I would personally go that route, picking a project and then learning what it takes to build that project. In fact, that's exactly what I did and I've learned 5x more than I learned during the bootcamp. I even learned the most up-to-date popular technologies and frameworks, which the curriculum doesn't teach. Not that the curriculum is outdated, but it's also not completely up-to-date either.

Mentor-led thing is a scam, mentors offer no real help. They respond every 18-48 hours. The course content is crappy and absolutely terrible. I paid so much money for crap.

Tech Elevator is a coding bootcamp that lends you the opportunity to hunker down and learn how to engineer a full stack web service, from scratch, in as little as 14 weeks! If you take it seriously, practice hard, ask lots of questions, and believe in yourself. You too can finish the program with the confidence you need to bash code from thought and enter the job market your chin held high. TE hosts a solid curriculum that allows even complete novices to quickly gain traction and jump into programming. The instructors are very knowledgeable and want you to succeed. Pathway is an excellent addition with university level instruction on how to enter the job market with your best foot forward. The bootcamp is very intense and fast paced. If you don’t feel comfortable asking for help when you don’t understand, you can find yourself behind the ball in an uncomfortable position.

Overall the bootcamp was a great experience. Started with css/html culminating in a Javascript based working e-commerce website utilizing industry specific skills such as react and restApi. There were several instructors, 5 at the start. Two were amazing and 1 left after a short while and never replaced. The other two were quite unhelpful overall and it showed when no one would sign up for extra help with them. Overall, always room for improvement but it gave me the knowledge to gain a foothold in the industry and that's all I hoped for.

After enrolling in Tech Academy's Cybersecurity Boot Camp, I have been astounded by the program's effectiveness. Despite my limited prior knowledge of computers, the boot camp provided me with a comprehensive education in operating systems, networks, virtual machines, and other essential concepts. As a result, my understanding of cybersecurity has significantly improved, giving me confidence in my ability to pursue a career in this field. One of the things I appreciated most about the boot camp was the hands-on learning opportunities. I was able to work on real-world projects and simulations, which helped me to develop the skills and experience I need to be successful in the tech industry. The staff at Tech Academy was also incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. They were always available to answer my questions and provide guidance, and they made sure that I had the knowledge and skills I needed before moving on to the next topic. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Tech Academy and I am excited to start my new career in the tech industry. I would highly recommend this boot camp to anyone who is looking for a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience in cybersecurity.

Ce cursus Essentials chez Jedha demande d'aimer la pratique et d'avoir une réelle envie de progresser, car la charge de travail est intense. I had a great experience with the Software Engineering course at HyperionDev. The course is well structured and provides a good balance between learning the theory and putting it into practice through practical projects and exercises. The Bootcamp started as a new experience for me and with no previous knowledge i had to learn everything from scratch. we had 4 instructors through the whole course, they all had a good preparation and were always available to help when needed. i Learned things new things that completely changed my view on what a software is and how i look at it, not just basic ui and functionality anymore but code wise and the complexity of every single action it performs. im really grateful to have been a part of this bootcamp, for all i have learned, and what i will make of it in my future. dankie wbs God seën jou ;D

I'll be very honest... I would give it a 0 if I could, I don't recommend anyone going to this school, it was the worst school I've ever attended! A complete robbery and a scheme organized with the Montepio bank! School in poor conditions, construction going on during classes, rooms with 40% more people than they said there would be, teachers not knowing how to speak Portuguese and not knowing how to explain, teachers missing days and days in a row without replacing the teacher when there were several teachers walking around smoking cigarettes, but worst of all, they paint the school pink saying that everything is very good with guaranteed work at the end of the course, classes of 20 people MAXIMUM ( mine was 30...) and when you finish we don't even have work and the support given by the placement team is a joke... simply horrible I don't advise anything, what I advise is to talk to former students who already attended the school as I even bet that 70% of them are unemployed or have left the area. Not to mention signing the contract that was done online on the school's platform, worth €6500, which should never have been done online... but even so, when we tried to get the contract already signed before, we couldn't get it, if we ask the school later they will send a completely different one with all the conditions that were not met so as not to be in breach after the course had ended. An act of clowning literally delayed my life!!!

I had a very good experience through my bootcamp at Henry, I learned useful hard skills at a high demand tech stack and gained the ability to learn new things, but most important I learned some valuable soft skills such as team work and building community, which I find to be the best about the experience.

Bootcamp ini sangat cocok untuk yang ingin benar-benar fokus belajar backend development secara praktikal. Dari sisi materi, kurikulumnya cukup lengkap dan relevan dengan kebutuhan industri. Saya belajar banyak tentang REST API, authentication menggunakan JWT, database management (MySQL), serta penggunaan framework seperti Spring Boot dan Flask. Selain itu, ada juga pembelajaran tentang best practice seperti clean architecture dan penggunaan Git. Instruktur sangat membantu dan responsif. Mereka tidak hanya menjelaskan teori, tetapi juga memberikan insight berdasarkan pengalaman di dunia kerja. Saat mengalami kesulitan, mentor cukup cepat membantu dan memberikan solusi yang jelas. Yang paling saya rasakan adalah peningkatan skill dalam membangun project nyata. Saya berhasil membuat sistem backend seperti inventory management dan POS system yang bisa dijadikan portfolio. Good experience to study at Test Pro, to improve basic java. great teacher will answer our question and friend in class really actively to respond, we will improve together. I think is a good choice to study at Test Pro, it's online course and good suggestion for me to get a computer to learn, not much expensive.

I recently attended Claim Academy for 3 weeks .Our First week the instructor went on vacation , and there wasn't a backup instructor in place. They called in favor to have friends in the industry teach. I was like ok whatever, but due to the mixing of instructors, they were just teaching random things and there was no curriculum for them to follow. By week three we had made it to our fourth instructor , who openly admitted he didn't know what was going on and wasn't a very good teacher. He had been asked last minute to fill in until the main instructor returned. In week three we spent an hour going over day one material because no one told the instructor what plan to follow. That same day we found out our main instructor had put his two weeks in and only had a week left. Claim academy had been trying to hire a second instructor for well over two months , and they also were under review from the VA due to excessive complaints about the program. I left the next day after finding out the instructor was leaving. Claim Academy is a burning ship and i do not recommend. I will be pursuing coding at another bootcamp, stay tuned for my next review.

When I decided to change careers and attend a coding bootcamp, I reviewed many options. I ultimately chose Max Technical Training as it appeared to have a more personable approach. After attending, wow that is not an understatement. They are very personable and make you feel like part of their family from the first day to post graduation with alumni events to help with networking. Even though I mostly attended remote, I never felt like an outsider. The bootcamp was amazing with instructors that are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about you learning. It was the best choice I have ever made!
