Read MoreI recently completed BrainStation's Data Science Online Bootcamp and I must say that it was an incredible experience. The instructors were fantastic and truly went above and beyond to ensure that all students were able to grasp the concepts and materials covered in the program. Their depth of knowledge and experience in the industry really shone through in their teaching.
The curriculum was very comprehensive and relevant to the current job market, which is crucial when investing time and money into a program like this. I appreciated how the program incorporated both theory and practical application, giving us a well-rounded understanding of data science.
One aspect that really stood out to me was the Career Accelerator Program. It was incredibly helpful in providing guidance and support throughout the job search process. From resume and cover letter reviews to mock interviews, this program really helped me feel confident and prepared for my job search.
The hands-on experience we gained throughout the program was invaluable. We worked on real-world projects that allowed us to apply what we had learned in a practical setting. This not only gave us a better understanding of the material, but also provided us with tangible deliverables to showcase to potential employers.
Overall, I highly recommend BrainStation's Data Science Online Bootcamp. The instructors, curriculum, career accelerator program, and hands-on experience all come together to create a truly valuable and purposeful learning experience.Springboard

Read MoreI started my CF program in UI Design on January, 2022 and finished it on January, 2023 so it took me a little longer than I expected to finish but I did so with a full-time job. Before getting into the CF program I started learning progressively with youtube videos, then Coursera courses and finally CF program. This way I made sure I was making the right choice in my career change journey into Tech from Aviation. I can't stress enough how good this program is and I have a bachelors in mechanical engineering. CF gives you literally everything you need to do a career change. You will get a tutor and a mentor that are experienced (and working) in the industry and after you finished the program they provide an invaluable course on job preparation that gives you all the tools you need to find that first job. Also, you get a mentor for your job prep too. CF will give you all the tools you need to have a successful educational transition into the real world of tech but it requires the students effort to make it work. This is a 50/50 deal and it can only work if you take every suggestion and implement it. They know what they are doing but without proper student execution it wont matter. Be ready to study hard and give it your all and take every single course from the introductory ones to the job prep, it is really worth it. After I finished my course I found my first job in 6 weeks. Some context, I'm new in town, no prior industry experience, the job market at the time of this review is awful with tech companies laying off people by the thousands, and it is a 100% remote job at a great company that I like. All in all, I can't recommend CF enough as my experience was great from start to finish and it's paid off. Also, I got a better salary now as a first-time designer than at my previous career with a decade of experience. If you are sure about the new career path that you want to take, this is a great way to get to the job you ultimately want. Just remember to make that extra effort so it works. Happy Learning!... First of all, I have a great support system at home that allowed me to focus 100% on this course for 4 months. I was able to take a recourse to prepare me for the full-time program.
The first month was HARD. I thought I was going to give up. The assignments are fast, and I spent all of my free time studying. It was difficult not to compare where I stood to others in my class. At my toughest moment, I reached out to my Career Services Manager and my TA. They both helped encourage me and offer support when I needed them.
I would say the most important take-aways for those looking to join the bootcamp: Make sure you have a support system. Don't compare yourself to others in the class. Stay dedicated and find the motivation behind why you're doing this.
Coding Dojo has great resources throughout the course, that continue on for 6 months after you graduate. Having previously met and hired multiple graduates from GA I went in having done quite a lot of my own + some crowdsourced research, and was not disappointed.
Definitely not for the faint of heart, GA will take your education (and post-graduation) seriously, and push you to the limits of what you can accomplish in a short time frame (12 week immersive in my case).
The teaching & instruction team are tried and tested, with a lot of the Instructor Associates having previously been graduates as well, you're well supported from the beginning with people who have really 'been there and done that' before you, understanding the highs, the lows, the stress, the FAQ's and everything in between.
From a post-graduation standpoint the Careers & Success coaching is tip top, something that I discovered almost no other bootcamp education provider actually offers, or if they do it's in it's infancy by comparison to GA. Regular catch-up's, infinite access to 1 on 1 career, resume, tailored job application, networking events, group interview session etc are on offer on a very regular basis - not to mention additional resources in email follow ups on potential job openings you can apply for week in week out (they do half if not 75% of the job search process FOR you).
Highly recommended, competitive and thorough education top to bottom, my current boss is stoked I came out knowing the practical skills I needed to be a hands on coder very quickly.

The tuition alone is worth it for Codesmith's hiring program. They help you hone a resume that you can be proud of! They teach you how to reach out and get interviews even in a horrible job market. And they provide continued support after you graduate. I did not come from a tech back ground either. I mostly worked in the service industry and government.
The thing that impressed me most about Codesmith was that it wasn't designed to take you from zero to hero. You actually have to work hard to get in. They have a free program called CSX and weekly free trainings that will get you to a junior level skill set. Once you are in the program you hit the ground running and they start developing the skills that will take you to a mid to senior level engineer. You learn the stuff you really can't get from YouTube videos or medium articles. You work with other humans and develop technical and empathic communication skills. As you grow as an engineer the challenges get bigger and bigger. Then to cap it all off, you and a small team of engineers build a production level application that is designed to impress other engineers. I can guarantee that you will look back on your journey and be shocked at who you have become and what you can accomplish!
It is not an easy program. It is not easy to get into Codesmith. You will work your ass off and you will hit a lot of blocks that you have to work through. But those challenges literally made me a better man and they made it so that I could handle the challenges of the job hunt and now the challenge of onboarding as a Senior Engineer (I don't know how it happened, I wasn't anywhere close to the smartest in my cohort, but I landed a Senior Fullstack Engineer roll - I am still in shock). I was in the part time program and it was a wonderfully fulfilling nine months that I will always cherish. I made life long friends. And honestly, it is the fact that it is not easy that makes Codesmith so valuable. I genuinely feel like this tuition was the best money I have EVER spent!Actualize

I have not gotten to the point in my coursework that I'm looking for a job, but I'm confident that they will go above and beyond to help make that a reality for myself and anyone else that completes the course.... Learn javascript + ruby very well and indepth in 12 weeks
Learn frameworks and supporting technologies that are high in demand and relevant in todays workplace.
Fantastic support in learning via coaches and mentors. They will answer each and every question.
Experience working through projects in real-life, work applicable methodologies such as AGILE.
Be part of a cohort with like minded individuals who push each other to succeed.
Immense job support after the course through 1 to 1 tailored coaching, group sessions and interview advice.
Access to an exclusive network of Alumni Makers, many in senior and lead positions today.
A rubber duck as a souvenir.
Cons:
Will require effort. It's a full time endeavour, very intense and will require your full attention and effort.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Makers. Regardless of the extremely tough job market toward the end of 2022 and beginning of 2023, I managed to secure a very desirable entry level job with one of my favourite languages that I was taught at Makers. There are concepts that I had no idea existed in web development that were taught at Makers and my success singlehandedly goes out to them. If I could do it all again I would 100%.- 379Reviews14CoursesFullstack Academy is a tech bootcamp that offers immersive online programs for web development, cybersecurity, data analytics, DevOps, and product management... today is 03/03/2023, what a lucky day! I have just graduated Devmountain's python software engineering bootcamp. They aren't the most expensive and are very competitive. Instructor Chalon(specs) and Garrett(foundations) were amazing. Always offered a helping hand and helped me to figure out how to think like a programmer.
Part Time Students
Foundations is amazing, Garrett and two mentors who are Matt and Nathan. It was every Tuesday Thursday night and every other Saturday. Every other week was self learn and then the next was lectures. To give you a bit of an insight of my life i am a busser at a local brewery so i had more than enough time on my hands to deep dive into certain aspects so the course work for me was great and i had plenty of time.
The Switch To Full Time
First off I had time on my hands like no other. I had my foundations so learning python was a nice ease into things at first. But then after the excitement of making a killer project in foundations my schedule was lacking and i had no sense of urgency to finish. You just got a bunch of videos to watch and assignments due whenever you complete them... there were no due dates in Part Time Specs unlike foundations you had a unit review due every 2 weeks. That's really my only gripe, I just had wished specs was more like part time foundations. And so I had a conversation with an awesome counselor at Devmountain and they helped me switch within like 5 hours. I can't say this will happen for you so be wary of trying this and i don't recommend it either. I could've done the full time all the way through i just needed to realize it first!
Full Time
Full time was amazing. Fast paced, detailed, fun, difficult, frustrating, and rewarding. All of those are good things. When learning you need direction, or at least i do. I like to feel accomplished and so i did. I was able to push myself and my instructor pushed me. I can't say how much this program has already changed my thinking about school and my love for learning has been re-energized.
Outcomes/ Job Assistance
Since i just graduated they gave us a plethora of information about obtaining a job, networking and more. Taylor helped me build my resume, LinkedIn profile and scripts to get inspired off them. The Outcomes team is truly a great feature and felt as if they cared as much as i care. In which I care a lot!
Messages to future Software Engineers. Make Friends during your cohort, most of them want friends too. I made around 4 solid friendships we talked a lot, encouraging one another and helping eachother grow.

Read MoreI am a graduate from Digital Crafts. I attended the full time web development bootcamp online for four months starting in July of 2022, and have since then got my first job in software development / web development with the experience and knowledge I attained from attending Digital Crafts. There is no doubt in my mind that without the leg up I attained from a curriculum in web development as well as my fantastic instructor Veronica, that I would not have been able to land my first job in the field. Despite the fantastic experience I had with DC, there is a few things I would like to make any prospective boot camp students aware of before paying the price of admission.... Read Less
1. You get out what you put into it.
If you are thinking that you will be able to coast through this course like a college or highschool course, get a certificate, then get a web development job, you may, but you probably won't. More than anything else the experience and skills you gain from attending all the classes, getting a grasp on all the material offered, and being able to demonstrate your aptitude is what's going to get you a job. Having a credential/ certificate is nice, but with no experience you have to have the knowledge and projects to back you up when going on interviews.
2. It's possible to go into this with no prior coding experience and succeed, but you really should not!
Going into any boot camp you will hear and read "No prior knowledge of coding necessary!". This is true, but this is not what I did, and I believe going in with a basic understanding of OOP helped me learn more and learn faster than my classmates who were completely fresh to every single topic. It's not impossible to catch up, but during your time attending DC you will have to run twice as fast to learn half as much, and as I said earlier, the more you can perform the better off you will be when you finish. I would highly recommend going through some basic programming material for a couple months before making the commitment, it will help a ton in my estimation.
3. Job assistance...
As you may have read from other reviews there is not guarantee that DC will do anything to get you a job after graduation. Despite some saying they do nothing, I think that is bogus, as there are networking opportunities, seminars, and the door is always open with staff members who work in career services who will give you specific detailed advice and guidance on what you need to do and how you need to do it to get your first job. It is also true that there's a good chance you can be hired as a TA ( teachers assistant ) by DC after you completed the course which will give you the experience you need to go somewhere else. It's not the best Job assistance in the world, as they will not hold your hand to your next position they picked out for you, but DC will give you what you need to move in the right direction.
4. I've heard some things...
During my time at DC I have heard some things that I would be remiss not to disclose here. I heard from one of my classmates who knew somebody that was taking the same course with a different instructor in part-time web development that there was a lot of funny business going on. It seemed that the quality of the classes/ assistance from the instructor was lackluster and something I definitely would not be happy about had I experienced myself. That being said this is word of mouth, I don't really know, but I would highly recommend if you want to attend, you do the full-time any way as I think it is a much better structure to begin with.
5. The Curriculum itself.
The curriculum itself is pretty good. It covers full-stack web development pretty deeply for the amount of time you actually spend learning and practicing material. That being said, In hindsight I wish the course had a larger focus in back-end web development with a server side language. No matter what part of web development you strive with, you may need to allocate serious time keep learning more languages/frameworks after the fact to fill in some missing skills from your resume before you get your first position.
That is pretty much all I have to report about the bootcamp. If I could go back in time I would chose to attend this bootcamp every single time. The people that I met there were all absolutely fantastic, and the fact that it accomplished for me what it was supposed to accomplish means I really have nothing to complain about. Despite that, I believe that coding bootcamps are not for everyone, and you really have to consider what you are capable of before you sign up and pay for any bootcamp.Hack Reactor
