Learn Agile at These 170 Agile Bootcamps

I am not an average student. At the ripe old age of 59, I decided to pick up some new skills before hitting 60, and against the advice of a number of colleagues and friends I deliberately opted for what I imagined would be the toughest course around: a Software Engineering Bootcamp.  I like a challenge.

I had limited computer science knowledge, but have been a technophile for decades, and unlike in my previous career as a TV producer, where creating anything requires vast resources, I was enticed by the idea of creating super cool software with nothing more than a laptop.

I chose BRAINSTATION largely because, among its activities, it offers on-campus, in person courses.  Every student is different, but for me the thought of on-line courses, where you could easily drift off unnoticed, was a real turn off. It proved to be a very good choice, suited me perfectly, and lived up to all my expectations. BrainStation is not cheap, but you're investing in the most important thing: your own future. In my opinion it was entirely worth it.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
The campus is small, but modern and in the heart of Shoreditch. It has a great vibe that constantly exudes ambition, belief, and a love of tech. There is a strong community spirit that is enriching and loaded with positivity. It's an environment that is proud of its achievements, and that in itself is infectious.

INSTRUCTORS
We had exceptional instructors and teaching assistants. They know their stuff inside out, but more importantly, they know how to communicate it with clarity an enthusiasm, and are always available for those invaluable one-to-one sessions for nailing tricky concepts, or just for general support. Their personal touch and personalised tuition was, for me, the most impressive aspect of the course. I was in a class of people who were mainly not just younger than me, but also considerably smarter. It could have been a ghastly, humiliating experience, but the reality was the exact opposite. The instructors' support, the way they take enjoyment from sharing their knowledge, and the way they deal with each student's individual ability is inspiring and truly motivating. Thanks to that, I passed the course!  I was also fortunate to be in a class of kind hearted students who were all brimming with determination.

CURRICULUM
The course is thorough and largely up to date. We had intense daily lectures, code-alongs, hackathons, and personal projects, as you would expect. These were well structured to take students from the basics to more advanced Javascript, HTML, React, Node, Express, etc. In a fast moving world, it's obviously difficult to keep up with every new development, but BrainStation seems to make quite an effort to regularly revise the course content. It was an exhausting course, however, and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone unable to devote all their energies to it. My only criticisms are that I wished the course had been a little longer. By the time the final weeks were upon us and we were immersed in our final projects, I found it hard to grapple with some of the heavy weight back-end modules. I would have loved more tuition on server-side topics, and an introduction to Python would have been useful. But in 12 weeks, it's impossible to fit everything in. Since the course, I have learned some Python, C#, and .NET techniques, and the programming sensibilities I picked up at BrainStation certainly made that easier.  

JOB ASSISTANCE
Very good. The career advice staff are knowledgeable, well connected, tenacious, and generous with their help and support. The rate at which students find post course employment is obviously a crucial metric in the success or failure of a college - especially one that defines itself as preparing students for the workplace.  I found that at BrainStation, career Advice was central to the course. And it continued for a full six months after the course finished. It's taken seriously and is not a tick-box tag-on that it could be in less conscientious organisations.    

SUMMARY
As a stepping stone into a career in tech, or as a way to simply build a foundation in software development knowledge, BrainStation is, in my opinion, very good indeed. I have no experience of other tech colleges, so I don't have any benchmarks to make comparisons with, but I am now confident in my software writing abilities, have built apps from scratch that work, and I followed up the Software Engineering Bootcamp with a short course in UX Design - also at BrainStation, London. That was also a tremendously rewarding course, taught in person on campus by excellent instructors who shared their knowledge and valuable industry experience with skill and panache.  

Will a BrianStation course get you a job and/or a new career? No - no course can do that, but this college can certainly help you make the most of your attributes.  

I'm currently enrolled in the Data Analytics course at CareerFoundry, and my experience so far has been very positive. The course has exceeded my expectations in terms of content and depth. I was initially looking for a program that would help me transition into a data-focused role, and CareerFoundry has delivered on that front. The curriculum is well-structured, starting with the basics and gradually building up to more complex topics, which has allowed me to gain a solid understanding of data analytics concepts.

The hands-on projects have been particularly beneficial, as they’ve helped me apply what I've learned in a practical context. The support from tutors and mentors has also been excellent, with timely feedback and personalized guidance that has kept me on track.

Although I haven’t yet reached the stage of job placement, I feel well-prepared for the upcoming challenges. CareerFoundry promises to assist with job preparation and placement, which is a critical component for me. I plan to update this review once I complete the course and have more insights into the job search process and how effectively the program supports its graduates in landing a job in the field of data analytics. So far, I’m impressed and excited about what’s ahead.

I don't even know where to start describing the experience of the last 9 weeks in the IN-PERSONtial UX/UI design bootcamp at Ironhack Lisbon. The quality of the training program is unbeatable. The professionals who make up the teaching staff are of the highest level, both as teachers and as human beings. The kindness and closeness, as well as the positivism in the low moments of such an intense experience, have made that, time after, I still feel moved when I remember them. Moreover, the on-site experience of the course has been crucial for me. I could not imagine it in any other format. The quality of the transmission of the contents, as well as the coexistence with the teaching team and the rest of my classmates, both in my course and those of WebDev and Data Analysis, would not have been of such a high level and would not have exceeded my expectations if it had not been in a face-to-face format. I highly recommend this formula. It feels like a summer camp and you feel it when you leave, but in this case you don't just take friends for life, you change your professional life forever. I miss you all!

I took the User Experience Design Immersive course in 2018 and had a great time! We learned the foundations of UX design and worked together in groups to apply our learnings to various projects. We even worked directly with a client at the end of the course. I left the course with 5 different case studies that I was able to showcase in my interviews for UX Design roles after graduation. 

Tyler Hartrich, Neil Kahn, and Carly Liebman were supportive instructors and made the class feel like a little family. Thank you all for creating an engaging learning environment for us! 

If you're making a career change like I did, taking a bootcamp like this one at GA is a great way to start by learning with likeminded people from different backgrounds and really gain knowledge needed for your first UX role. UX is constantly evolving, so in addition to the course, it would be important to continue learning about new innovations, emerging technologies, and case studies from others about best practices.

Course Careers has been a great investment. With most courses only costing $500, I'm able to get my certificate in Accounting and land entry level positions. I started the course on July 16th and I am half way through it already. My instructor, Terrell, has been keeping the lessons clear and easy to follow and understand. I definitely recommend Course Careers to anyone who is looking for a career change but doesn't want to spend thousands on a college degree.

Before starting with The Tech Academy, I had a passion for getting into the tech field, but was very scared. After taking time to really learn from their course and with the help of their team, I gained the knowledge and skills necessary to feel confident in my ability to get into tech. Now, I am excited for the future and my first position in the tech field!

I've been working at a company for 10 years. I had a low income and worked long hours, which left me feeling exhausted. I decided to make a significant change for my future, so I quit my job and chose to learn coding to change my career. I spent a lot of time selecting the right coding school. I'm not young anymore, and I don’t have enough savings. Therefore, I didn't want to waste any more time. I needed to find the right school and move forward to improve my future. I chose Tripleten, and I am still studying. I've been studying for over 3 months now. The more I study, the more satisfied I am with my decision to join the bootcamp.

Initially, I was very afraid that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the class because I am an absolute beginner in coding. However, the structure of the courses is well-organized and easy to follow for beginners. Whenever I have a question, they respond quickly. They have a supportive team that helps my concerns and questions as soon as possible. Each sprint requires me to submit projects, which helps improve my coding skills. They set deadlines for the projects but offer reasonable time to complete them.

Additionally, they have an amazing support team for their career program. They provide a lot of useful information on job searching and offer support for my career. I am starting to prepare for the job market soon. If I had to prepare on my own, I would definitely feel overwhelmed, but I feel relieved knowing I have support. I am proud of how well I’m doing so far. If you are in a similar situation, I strongly recommend this bootcamp.

 First of all, I was a student in the software test engineering department, and both the live lessons and the recorded materials in the course were very useful. Additionally, the mentoring service is excellent, and you can immediately reach out to your mentor to solve any problems you may have. In addition to the practice assignments provided in the course, you also participate in 2 real projects to get prepared for the work environment. I highly recommend it. 

Not only does Avocademy do a wonderful job in their foundations course to prepare your skills for real world design projects, but the access and support for mentors is one of the most valuable resources I've ever had. They have a variety of mentors available for all areas of your foundational and career development needs. From general reinforcement and positivity, to real world experience, to career guidance in your job hunt, they will guide you for any decisions you have to make. I would not be where I'm at in my professional development without them and this has been undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've ever made!

Product Gym has everything about getting a product manager job down to a science, though you have to do the work to succeed. How to write a resume and how to interview (every step of the way, every kind of interview), including specific interview types, are all explained. The FAANG companies are covered, as well as specific types of interviews along each step of the process. There are regular coaching calls, and many different ways to practice. If you want a product management job, this is the place to go to get one.

Great feeling when it's done, how these challenges shape your way of thinking to solve different problems. Engaging in these exercises not only sharpens your problem-solving skills but also instils a sense of accomplishment. The structured approach to tackling diverse challenges each week broadens your perspective and enhances your adaptability.  I would recommend DigitalCrafts to anyone that is committed to transitioning into full-stack software development. During the 17-week full-time program I experienced tremendous growth and was able to build much greater things than I expected. On the 17th week I was accepted into an internship and it's because of this bootcamp. During the full-time bootcamp it is up to you and how hard you are willing to apply yourself during this time. If you need to recharge, recharge. However, if you have free time, commit it to learning new technologies or improving existing skills. As I write this, I am now familiarizing myself with an entirely new codebase and beginning work with 40 other developers. The curriculum keeps you moving and lays an important foundation for new developers. Also, I would recommend Veronica as an instructor. If you're willing to work hard and you aren't just trying to "get by" - this bootcamp will be great for you. 

I recently completed the full-time data science bootcamp at WBS Coding School. Without any 2nd thought I rate the experience from admission till course completion the best one.
What I liked was the way this course was structured, ensuring all the  key topics were taught to us related to data science along with some advanced topics like machine learning and gen-ai.
The instructors were really cheerful and experienced and supported all of us through our tough times. Besides the syllabus, they also provided a lot of external resources to make sure we reached to the depths of the topic. This course has definitely helped me equip strong data science skills.

Product school was a great resource in helping me with my industry transfer into product management. My instructor, Toby Martin Hughes, was very informative and is definitely a very talented product management instructor. I attended and graduated from the 24 week Cybersecurity Cohort.  The program gets it right, and it is probably better than some of the degree programs I had looked into through the local universities.  I am in an IT group on Facebook and a lot of the members stated that the curriculum they get through their degree programs doesn't prepare them because they don't extensively get to participate in hands on labs.  The instructors are real world experienced individuals at Claim Academy, and are very knowledgeable.  They are truly invested in the success of the students.  I have recommended the program to so many of my friends.
