The course materials were mostly curated from existing online sources like articles and YouTube videos. While Springboard organizes them so you don’t have to figure out what to read or watch, much of it felt like walls of text, which made getting through them tedious. Some resources also felt outdated—up to five years old—so I wish Springboard would update the content more frequently or develop more original material of their own. Since most of the content is free online, it feels like the bulk of your tuition really goes toward having a mentor. My mentor did provide assignment feedback and answered questions, but the interaction was limited to that. One negative experience I had was that during two consecutive calls, my mentor was on her phone while I was asking questions, which forced me to repeat myself.Great Learning offers online, career-relevant programs from world-class universities in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, management, cloud computing, cyber security and design thinking. Udacity used to be a great online education platform that I recommended to friends and colleagues. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. I've purchased three Nanodegree courses from them, and I was initially fascinated by their project ideas, reviews, comments, and mentors when I first discovered the platform.
In this era, thanks to sharing enthusiasts and the developer community, you can access all the knowledge or projects that Udacity can offer. This is true for most platforms, so what you pay for is the educational support from real people, customer support, certification value, and user-friendly workspaces/websites.
At Udacity, mentors generally help you out quickly when you raise a question, which is great. The value of certification depends on your country, so I won't comment on that.
Now, let's discuss the red flags that have made me stop using this platform. I'll also share my detailed recent experience.
Especially after the new update, the website and workspace are a mess, almost looking like an unfinished website. It's definitely not user-friendly. The same goes for their workspace. For example there is data that can't be downloaded due to sensitive information, and you have an AI project. It's normal to wait 4-5 hours for your train data, but in their workspace, it can be interrupted because their system automatically logs you off or experiences at least one or two crashes in day at Jupyter. This means you have to start over. Your code will be there, but you have to run every line again. Regarding customer support: at Udacity, there's never a chance to talk with real support; there's an AI chatbot (Seb) that only sends emojis and doesn't provide any useful information. They added UdacityGPT, which is incapable of answering questions. They charge money per course per month but don't provide support within 72 hours. No one cares about you after you pay. I hope people will see this post before purchasing. Also, concerning reviewers, if they're busy, they don't care about you and can even refuse to review your project. For example, if you're near to repaying next month and close to finishing your project, might reviewers will use up all the deadline and can make excuses not to check your project. If you ask for help from support, good luck – you have to wait at least 72 hours, which might only result in a response asking you a question in return.
In my capstone project, I shared my repo, code, and blog articles. In this course, I took lessons on coding and GitHub, but not on how to write articles, which makes sense because writing and sharing articles is a personal choice. In my project submission, the reviewer refused to do a review because they believe I shared too much code in the article, which definitely does not make sense. I am not sharing this article as a Udacity employee; this is my personal area and my personal choice. There was no rule in the project rubric stating that I can't share code in my article. The funny part is that, because of this, the reviewer did not do any review for my GitHub repo and code. I am here to learn coding and data science, which should be our primary goal, but this reviewer does not seem to care about this.
For now, I have clearly told the reviewer that it's my choice, and if there are any missing parts, they should address them in the review and provide me with some examples. Also, please help me understand the idea of making a perfect article if my code is not right. Let's say there is a critical mistake in my project; I would have to change the entire article. I don't understand this logic. After I wrote this to the reviewer, they are now purposely making me wait for the review and using up all the time for the deadline, which I have never experienced before at Udacity. In my case, those requirements included attending biweekly career meetings, applying to a minimum number of jobs each week, and logging networking activities through their approved platform.During the program, I repeatedly attended career coaching sessions where students expressed concerns after receiving notices that their guarantees had been revoked due to alleged failures to meet networking requirements. At the time, TripleTen used a third-party platform called Prentus to track activity. Many students found the platform unreliable and difficult to use consistently.Fortunately, my career coach advised us to maintain independent records of all job applications and networking activities in addition to the platform logs. Following that advice, I kept a detailed spreadsheet documenting my applications, networking outreach, and participation throughout the entire guarantee period.My guarantee period recently ended. I submitted my documentation showing that I had tracked and completed the required activities. Despite maintaining records and following the guidance I was given, TripleTen informed me that I still did not qualify under the guarantee requirements.As a result, I am currently disputing their decision and requesting the refund that I believe I am entitled to receive.My advice to prospective students is this:- Read every part of the job guarantee agreement carefully.
- Keep your own records of every job application, networking message, and career-related activity.
- Save screenshots, emails, attendance records, and spreadsheets from day one.
- Do not rely solely on third-party tracking platforms to document your compliance.
- Understand that meeting the requirements may not automatically result in approval of a refund claim.

I had no previous experience in UX/UI Design. The course was awesome and I learned so much. All of my interactions with my teams and the staff were amazing, and there was lots of support throughout the course completion and client project completion. I'm so glad that this bootcamp allowed me to get some real client project experience. It just sucks because I paid 6,000 dollars total for the Foundations course and Career Jumpstart, just for one first interview to come out of it, aside from the education and UX/UI experience I gained. They told me that with the current job market, I would be applying to around 800-1200 jobs, and after 1,300 jobs I just had that one interview and they cut me off of their Slack Channels, which meant I would lose access to mentorship and the ability to do more client projects. Again I only have the experience they gave me, around 2 years of experience, and I know that was part of why it took so many applications to get that one interview, but I can't get any more experience through Avocademy since they cut me off. The time they gave me had passed, but I really wish they would hold on to me just a little longer after paying so much money. This is a job that I really really really want and I would love an experience where Avocademy actually helps me from start to finish. From preparing to apply to jobs to getting the job. At least they gave me the reading and resources for applying to jobs and the education they gave me in the Avocademy modules, but even I lost the 1,300 tracked jobs on Huntr and I can't get mentorship or more experience. I joined the bootcamp with no background in coding, I went from not knowing how to run a single line of code to being able to handle data from large workbooks in 6 months, with a full time job! The lecture videos were very insightful and introduced the concepts in a way that accommodated people from any academic background. This was very important to me as I needed assistance with understanding the work. They are also very efficient with marking submissions. It is sometimes easy to feel demotivated, especially when studying something completely new. The approach they follow when a submission needs to re-done is, they start off with pointing out what you did well and this helps boost one's confidence.

Even though I was on the FLEX self-paced path, not having a static instructor the entire time was rough. The other is lack of focus on algorithmic, typical coding questions you will see in tech interviews. College doesn't really tell you HOW to do the job, just the overall purpose behind it. We created whole business plans and the importance of digital marketing without anything covering the actual execution of digital marketing in college, so it was more like how to look at it from a leadership perspective (the big picture) instead of the worker bees' perspective (the details). I liked that JobPrepped really went into the different aspects of digital marketing. Without knowing the details of these separate pieces you can't fully create the big picture.
