Brookdale Community College offers 18-week, online Back End Software Developer and Front End Software Developer bootcamps and a 26-week, online Data Engineering bootcamp. All bootcamp students will meet for one live virtual class per week and will also meet once weekly for a remote 30 minute 1:1 mentor session. An additional 20 hours per week are required for work outside of the live sessions. Brookdale Community College bootcamps are designed to be accessible and flexible in order to accommodate working professionals.
Back End Software Developer bootcamp students will learn Java, MySQL, Git, CLI navigation, JUnit, JDBC, REST concepts, SpringBoot, Maven, JPA, JWT, log4j, debugging, and AWS. Students will also build multiple projects ranging from console applications to web APIs.
Front End Software Developer bootcamp students will learn JavaScript (ES6), CSS, Sass, git, CLI navigation, HTML, Bootstrap, JQuery, AJAX, React, Axios, responsive design, and debugging. Students will build multiple projects ranging from static websites to responsive, dynamic front end applications.
Data Engineering bootcamp students will learn technologies, including Python, AWS, RDS, Hadoop, Spark, and Amazon Aurora. Students will also learn data structures, error handling, logic, storage concepts, normalization, and data modeling.
No prior experience is required to apply for the Back End Software Developer and Front End Software Developer bootcamps. Data Engineering bootcamp applicants should be logical thinkers with a high technical aptitude and experience working with data connections and creating macros and functions in Excel or other applications. Exposure to programming is helpful but not required. Students must be over 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent. To enroll, interested applicants should first schedule an individualized information session with the Brookdale Community College coding bootcamp counselor. Students will complete an aptitude test prior to the first bootcamp class meeting.
