    Overall Experience:

    Job Assistance:
I have been enrolled since March 2020. I took their Java and .NET program along with an introductory course in order to brush up my skills and build a strong foundation. The course had a lot of good coverage on subjects like CSS, JavaScript, and HTML. I did not struggle with the prep material at all as I have worked on these subjects before. Teachers were decent and good too. My problem with program started after a month. While earlier sessions are easy to understand so nobody struggles with them usually but once you get into the complex part, the issue with Revature becomes more glaring.

First you don’t get to sit face to face with your mentor every day, just twice or thrice a week which does not really accomplish your whole purpose of learning to code. I did like my mentor but the overall approach to the curriculum wasn’t satisfactory. Sometimes the class was rushed and we were not asked any questions regarding our doubts and sometimes we wasted too much time on simpler topics, so it is safe to say there was no set pattern. To sum it up:

    Pros
    • Teachers are good but student teacher ratio is bad
    • Material is somewhat modern with latest framework and methodologies
    • Online so you can do it from anywhere

    Cons
    • Lack of assistance on projects and no feedback or assessments, nobody will tell you if it is right or if you need to make improvements
    • The Q and A session is clogged with 25-30 students so you get little to no time to ask a question and even the teacher is not able to answer every query due to time crunch
    • No assistance for career prep as they don’t work on your resume, LinkedIn profile
    • No pair programming
    • No job support because they don’t have industry knowledge and very less clients
    • Even during the pandemic, some of their clients have backed out so they are now left with very less options which mean graduates are left with no job and even if they do they are mostly short term projects
    • Compensation is really low and companies don’t hesitate to drop you because you are just working on side projects

Honest Opinion: even though the courses are okay, you still don’t get any job support, which to be honest is the whole point of joining a camp. We all want to get hired so instead of wasting your time and energy here, join a place that not only gives good training but also help you get hired. This place will not meet your expectations for sure!

Thanks!
