I am not an average student. At the ripe old age of 59, I decided to pick up some new skills before hitting 60, and against the advice of a number of colleagues and friends I deliberately opted for what I imagined would be the toughest course around: a Software Engineering Bootcamp.  I like a challenge.

I had limited computer science knowledge, but have been a technophile for decades, and unlike in my previous career as a TV producer, where creating anything requires vast resources, I was enticed by the idea of creating super cool software with nothing more than a laptop.

I chose BRAINSTATION largely because, among its activities, it offers on-campus, in person courses.  Every student is different, but for me the thought of on-line courses, where you could easily drift off unnoticed, was a real turn off. It proved to be a very good choice, suited me perfectly, and lived up to all my expectations. BrainStation is not cheap, but you're investing in the most important thing: your own future. In my opinion it was entirely worth it.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE
The campus is small, but modern and in the heart of Shoreditch. It has a great vibe that constantly exudes ambition, belief, and a love of tech. There is a strong community spirit that is enriching and loaded with positivity. It's an environment that is proud of its achievements, and that in itself is infectious.

INSTRUCTORS
We had exceptional instructors and teaching assistants. They know their stuff inside out, but more importantly, they know how to communicate it with clarity an enthusiasm, and are always available for those invaluable one-to-one sessions for nailing tricky concepts, or just for general support. Their personal touch and personalised tuition was, for me, the most impressive aspect of the course. I was in a class of people who were mainly not just younger than me, but also considerably smarter. It could have been a ghastly, humiliating experience, but the reality was the exact opposite. The instructors' support, the way they take enjoyment from sharing their knowledge, and the way they deal with each student's individual ability is inspiring and truly motivating. Thanks to that, I passed the course!  I was also fortunate to be in a class of kind hearted students who were all brimming with determination.

CURRICULUM
The course is thorough and largely up to date. We had intense daily lectures, code-alongs, hackathons, and personal projects, as you would expect. These were well structured to take students from the basics to more advanced Javascript, HTML, React, Node, Express, etc. In a fast moving world, it's obviously difficult to keep up with every new development, but BrainStation seems to make quite an effort to regularly revise the course content. It was an exhausting course, however, and I wouldn't recommend it for anyone unable to devote all their energies to it. My only criticisms are that I wished the course had been a little longer. By the time the final weeks were upon us and we were immersed in our final projects, I found it hard to grapple with some of the heavy weight back-end modules. I would have loved more tuition on server-side topics, and an introduction to Python would have been useful. But in 12 weeks, it's impossible to fit everything in. Since the course, I have learned some Python, C#, and .NET techniques, and the programming sensibilities I picked up at BrainStation certainly made that easier.  

JOB ASSISTANCE
Very good. The career advice staff are knowledgeable, well connected, tenacious, and generous with their help and support. The rate at which students find post course employment is obviously a crucial metric in the success or failure of a college - especially one that defines itself as preparing students for the workplace.  I found that at BrainStation, career Advice was central to the course. And it continued for a full six months after the course finished. It's taken seriously and is not a tick-box tag-on that it could be in less conscientious organisations.    

SUMMARY
As a stepping stone into a career in tech, or as a way to simply build a foundation in software development knowledge, BrainStation is, in my opinion, very good indeed. I have no experience of other tech colleges, so I don't have any benchmarks to make comparisons with, but I am now confident in my software writing abilities, have built apps from scratch that work, and I followed up the Software Engineering Bootcamp with a short course in UX Design - also at BrainStation, London. That was also a tremendously rewarding course, taught in person on campus by excellent instructors who shared their knowledge and valuable industry experience with skill and panache.  

Will a BrianStation course get you a job and/or a new career? No - no course can do that, but this college can certainly help you make the most of your attributes.  

Was the Best desicision I made trying the Web Development Fundamentals Bootcamp. Got a taste of coding and loved it. The Instructor provided lots of bonus knowledge and the way Nucamp has everything set up you cannot fail as long as you put in the effort and communicte with them. They will help you learn and more importantly learn how to learn.
The scheduling is very flexible and they will help you if you have reschedule within reason if  things come up. You can't go wrong with Nucamp. I highly recomend!

 True story, I tried to leave App Academy to attend another Boot Camp. They told me, “Hang on, stay focused, App Academy is a great Boot Camp. “ And since then, I knew I was in good hands.  App Academy is a great place to start programming. They are very understanding and fair! I love App Academy.

Tarun is has a deep understanding of the subject matter. All of the classes were highly interactive. But the thing that I liked the most about his teaching style is the industry insights. He connected each topic with real life use cases and explained where they can be applied, what problems one might encounter while applying them and how to avoid those problems. Overall, it was a wonderful learning experience with him and Simplilearn. 

I took the User Experience Design Immersive course in 2018 and had a great time! We learned the foundations of UX design and worked together in groups to apply our learnings to various projects. We even worked directly with a client at the end of the course. I left the course with 5 different case studies that I was able to showcase in my interviews for UX Design roles after graduation. 

Tyler Hartrich, Neil Kahn, and Carly Liebman were supportive instructors and made the class feel like a little family. Thank you all for creating an engaging learning environment for us! 

If you're making a career change like I did, taking a bootcamp like this one at GA is a great way to start by learning with likeminded people from different backgrounds and really gain knowledge needed for your first UX role. UX is constantly evolving, so in addition to the course, it would be important to continue learning about new innovations, emerging technologies, and case studies from others about best practices.

Codesmith provided me with exactly what I needed. The curriculum was set up to cover some of the most prevalent concepts and technologies in the industry, and what I left with was a strong foundation to stand on, a solid understanding of how to grow moving forward, and the dedication and confidence to do so. Since graduating, I've stayed in contact with my cohort mates and other people I met through the program (all excellent good-hearted people) and continued to learn and expand my skill set and capabilities. Recently I realized my goal, and with the help of the Alumni and Job Support Team (shoutout to Eric Kirsten), I landed a job as a Software Developer! 

Course Careers has been a great investment. With most courses only costing $500, I'm able to get my certificate in Accounting and land entry level positions. I started the course on July 16th and I am half way through it already. My instructor, Terrell, has been keeping the lessons clear and easy to follow and understand. I definitely recommend Course Careers to anyone who is looking for a career change but doesn't want to spend thousands on a college degree.

 I recently completed the UI/UX Bootcamp at Hacktiv8, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The program is meticulously designed to cover the essential aspects of UI/UX design, from the basics to more advanced topics, making it suitable for beginners as well as those looking to refine their skills.  The instructors are industry professionals with a wealth of experience, and they bring real-world insights into the classroom. Their teaching methods are clear and engaging, and they are always willing to provide extra help when needed. One of the highlights of the bootcamp is the hands-on approach. Rather than just focusing on theory, Hacktiv8 ensures that students get plenty of practice.  Overall, I found the UI/UX Bootcamp at Hacktiv8 to be a comprehensive and practical learning experience. It is an excellent choice for anyone looking to break into the UI/UX field or enhance their existing skills. The support from the instructors and the collaborative environment made the learning process enjoyable and effective. I highly recommend it to anyone serious about pursuing a career in UI/UX design. 

Before starting with The Tech Academy, I had a passion for getting into the tech field, but was very scared. After taking time to really learn from their course and with the help of their team, I gained the knowledge and skills necessary to feel confident in my ability to get into tech. Now, I am excited for the future and my first position in the tech field!

 First of all, I was a student in the software test engineering department, and both the live lessons and the recorded materials in the course were very useful. Additionally, the mentoring service is excellent, and you can immediately reach out to your mentor to solve any problems you may have. In addition to the practice assignments provided in the course, you also participate in 2 real projects to get prepared for the work environment. I highly recommend it. 

Product Gym has everything about getting a product manager job down to a science, though you have to do the work to succeed. How to write a resume and how to interview (every step of the way, every kind of interview), including specific interview types, are all explained. The FAANG companies are covered, as well as specific types of interviews along each step of the process. There are regular coaching calls, and many different ways to practice. If you want a product management job, this is the place to go to get one.

Having never coded before and not coming from the Tech field at all, I was a complete beginner when I started my training at La Capsule. Fortunately, I found a lot of support and kindness from the instructors, especially Victor, the Teacher Assistant, and Raida, the teacher. They knew how to reassure me when I had doubts and truly guided me throughout my journey.

The teaching was excellent. Raida shares his knowledge with passion and a lot of patience, making him a very effective teacher. He never hesitates to re-explain concepts when necessary, which is really appreciated. Additionally, the lessons are recorded on the Ariane platform, allowing us to revisit them from a different perspective and better understand difficult concepts.

The bootcamp is very intensive, with a fast-paced training schedule where you absorb new information and concepts every day. It’s crucial not to put too much pressure on yourself: even if everything isn’t immediately clear, you have the opportunity to revisit the material later.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this training. If you are motivated, persistent, and truly eager to learn, everything is achievable in this learning system.

The first time I called them I thought they were a scam LOL but then they started to explain what they were all about and everything began to sink in. I hope everyone who reads this that are thinking about going this career route has an opportunity to talk to them and check out what an amazing school they are. They will help you throughout the whole program, is not a moment that are going to feel alone. This is a life-changing decision and they would make it fun and dynamic to learn it and be part of the experience. BTW I hate writing reviews but they deserve every word and this would change everyone's lives.

I completed the Data Science course and had a great experience! We received a lot of learning materials and resources throughout the bootcamp on the topics we’ve learned (Python pandas, SQL, Tableau, Machine Learning, AI, etc.). It was very intensive and sometimes even difficult, but the learning curve was steep! I also had two great instructors who were always there to help me whenever I was stuck, even organising one-on-one meetings to re-explain the topic again. 
I recommend WBS Coding School to everyone who wants to learn and get trained in Data Science!

Test Pro is a wonderful online course, very well organized and designed, and provides priceless practical knowledge. Great slides and material recommendations. Especially I like that it has online live classes and video recordings and a lot of real project practice which gives you knowledge and confidence. Test Pro teachers prepare you for the real interview. The main aim is to get knowledge and find the job of your dream and Test pro will help you on your way. I attended and graduated from the 24 week Cybersecurity Cohort.  The program gets it right, and it is probably better than some of the degree programs I had looked into through the local universities.  I am in an IT group on Facebook and a lot of the members stated that the curriculum they get through their degree programs doesn't prepare them because they don't extensively get to participate in hands on labs.  The instructors are real world experienced individuals at Claim Academy, and are very knowledgeable.  They are truly invested in the success of the students.  I have recommended the program to so many of my friends.

Its a high intensive program, but it pays the effort in the end. You learn, if you put the work. I think it prepares you well to face the job market and the career support is great!

Learnbay is the best coaching institute for both students who are from non programming background and programming experience. The teacher's here are highly experienced, qualified and patient with the students. The course provides us with enormous knowledge resources. Also, classes are conducted in a great way providing enough of doubt clearing sessions and assignments are given to check progress of students. 

I just recently graduated from Code Platoon's Immersive Full-Stack Software Engineering program this month and I can't say enough positive things about this program and the staff that work there. I was extremely worried starting the program because I had a previous bad experience with another SE Bootcamp called FlatIron because they didn't actually teach you any lessons in the bootcamp and only offered minimum support for learning the concepts, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into Code Platoon's program. However, I had absolutely no reason to worry because Code Platoon is far superior to the other bootcamp and the staff genuinely care about their students and will put the time in to make sure you understand the topics and concepts. The instructors presented the lectures in ways that made it easy to follow and ask questions and if you didn't understand they'd break the concept down a different way to help make it clear. They always encouraged questions and class participation and were always available to offer assistance to students if you are struggling. I felt as though they really cared about ensuring each one of us in our cohort was successful in the program. They also offer a robust curriculum that prepares you with the fundamentals as well as languages such as Django, PostgreSQL, Flask, React, etc. We also always had TAs available to help us during class hours and after hours to ensure we weren't getting stuck on problems or issues. During the program they also setup Beyond Tech Talks and brought in employers to prepare us for topics we needed to know going into a tech career. Finally, their Career Services and Job Assistance also goes above and beyond as they incorporate several topics like behavioral interviews, technical interviews, job search best practices, etc to make sure we are prepared for job searching as soon as we complete the program. We also got to talk to employers like Google and DFR to learn about interviewing process best practices and what to expect in your first role. During the program they also set you up with a mentor and a volunteer resume coach to offer you additional support and resources. Code Platoon truly goes above and beyond to make sure their students are setup for success. As I stated above, this bootcamp is top notch and by far the best bootcamp out there for active duty military members and their families, as well as veterans and their families. I'm so grateful I was given the opportunity to complete this bootcamp. They also offer a variety of ways to pay for the program so you have flexibility. You won't regret attending this bootcamp!
