This has been an incredibly rewarding journey. I did not expect this to go so well. I had completed 2 previous bootcamps with other schools years ago with mixed feelings. 
My journey began with me engaging with 5 possible schools to learn cybersecurity. I chose UTD Tech because of the personal attention I received from the recruiter. She was very accurate and upfront about who would benefit the most from this course. The course material itself prepares you for today's cybersecurity challenges while providing a significant amount of pertinent historical data that shows how we arrived at where we are. The instructors went to painstaking measures to ensure we under the concepts leaving no students behind. 
And then the creme-de-la-creme. All the help that was provided with resumes and virtual presence helped me land my new career.

With the help of the Macro Fellowship, I was able to transition from being a senior engineer at a large Web2 company to working at a blockchain defi startup.

I was already learning Solidity and Ethereum before the fellowship, but now I can write and audit secure smart contracts.

I really enjoyed learning a lot about security in web3 and learning in depth how Solidity contracts end up as EVM byte code. The fellowship also allowed me to meet great people in web3 / learning about web3. I really appreciated how most of the Solidity code I wrote was audited—provided me with great feedback.

I took this bootcamp (3 months) course last year. Coding Summit taught both python & JavaScript along with how to use both languages to create web applications. The instructors were always patient and understanding towards the students (I had no prior CS experience). One thing I loved about the bootcamp was the daily whiteboard problems that we would do. This was critical in prepping me for the tech interviews that I would get later on. The material that I was taught was critical in helping me find a job in the tech industry, and I am glad I had the opportunity to change my careers through this bootcamp.

I started the software development bootcamp at the Developer Academy in May 2023 and really enjoyed my experience there. This is a great oppertunity for anyone wanting to get into software development. The course is well structured and the tutors really know what they are on about and can help you with anything. You are not thrown straight into the deep end and it felt like a nice gradual incline in technical skills, and by the end of the course I felt well equiped to look for work. I am very happy pleased I did this as I was able to find work for myself within the first month of completion. 

This course changed my life and empowered me to be a software engineer.  I was extremely lucky to have had such a fantastic instructor, Preston Wallace, and mentor, Jean Leconte. After I completed the program, Laura McClernon worked tirelessly to assist me in finding a job.  I couldn't have done it without their expert assistance.  I would recommend this course to anyone who feels stuck in life and has no idea how to escape.  I had little direction in life beforehand.  I am accustomed to learning on my own, but was struggling to make time for self-improvement.  I needed to make an investment in my future and have a structured curriculum; I was consumed with just living day to day, surviving the daily grind, and worked long hours at low pay to provide for my family.  Now, thanks to Fullstack, I can escape that cycle and improve my circumstances for myself and my family.  I feel like I am in control of my life again, with a bright future ahead of me!

My experience at Skill Switch was transformative. The bootcamp was easy to follow and understand. While it was self-paced and all online, they pushed me to follow the recommended timeline which was rewarding. It allowed me to work on meaningful projects, enhancing my portfolio with Python, Django, and AWS skills. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) Cybersecurity Bootcamp is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for a career in cybersecurity. The bootcamp covers a wide range of topics, including:

The bootcamp is designed for students with all levels of experience, from beginners to those with some prior technical knowledge. Overall, the UW Cybersecurity Bootcamp is a well-respected program that can provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to start a career in cybersecurity.

I paid $2000 for this early on in the pandemic.  Everything was a bit chaotic, as they were moving all their programs fully online.  The teachers were fine, the material was solid as well.  It seems like a lot of sales training programs all draw from the same well.  But delivered all out of order, so I had to spend weeks and weeks waiting to get to the part that I was interested in - Salesforce.  We weren't a cohort so much as a hodgepodge, all of us at different points in the program.  Anyway, I was unable to get hired, but not for lack of trying or solid coaching.  I made a lot of cold calls, and took a lot of interviews, but it was all for naught.  My business re-opened and I had to go back to my old job anyway.  I would have liked to keep some of the course materials, and my interview tracking sheet, but they deleted my account without asking or notifying me so, that was a bit lame.  

After spending five weeks in the Capslock cybersecurity course, I have mixed feelings about the experience. 

On the positive side, the team-based learning approach seems to work well for many students, with around 75% of graduates reportedly finding jobs within six months of finishing the course. The course also provides access to valuable resources such as RangeForce and O'Reilly, and the people at Capslock are generally friendly and helpful. 
Additionally, the course offers a cybersecurity practitioner certification, which could be useful for some learners.

However, there are several drawbacks to the course that I feel potential students should be aware of. Despite being advertised as "live classes," the actual instruction time is minimal. Instead, most of the learning takes place within teams, with students researching topics and creating PowerPoints on their own.

Unfortunately, many of the course tutors are past students with limited knowledge and experience in cybersecurity. I found that I was often left to solve problems and answer questions on my own, even during "live" class sessions. Furthermore, some of the security measures used by Capslock seem to be amateurish and easily bypassed, raising concerns about the quality of instruction and the safety of student data.

Ultimately, while Capslock may work well for some students, I would caution anyone who is truly passionate about cybersecurity against taking this course. The cost is high, and much of the learning seems to take place outside of class time, with little support from instructors. I personally feel that I could have learned more on my own with the same amount of time and effort. 

As it stands, I have left the course due to what I consider to be an overreaction on the part of Capslock, ( They left a hyperlink to their intranet on a banner and when I clicked on it they accused me of being unethical and gaining unauthorised access). 

Luckily I was offered a full refund if I leave so I took that.

Coding Boot Camp with NCC and Promineo Tech came to sight when I was looking for schools that offer software development courses in Nashua, NH. Upon exploring further, I contacted Kimberly Eckenrode, who is very friendly and nicest person to talk to. She helped me get more information and sign up for the course. Let me say this, this is the most affordable bootcamp I have ever came across. 

 

As for the bootcamp itself, I signed up for the back-end coding bootcamp. I was amazed with the comprehensive course plan that includes not just regular classes but career services, one-on-one weekly mentor sessions, office hours where you get to ask questions and even offer help to fellow students. This coding bootcamp offered by NCC and Promineo Tech has been one of my best experiences as I got to collaborate with fellow classmates on class projects, learn from them, and establish our own bonding. In addition, mentors and instructors are extremely helpful. If you have questions, they’ve got answers, and everyone is always willing to help. 

 

If you are deciding to take this, I’ll definitely encourage you to sign up for this. Though I had self-taught skills in programming in Java and Python, skills you learn in this bootcamp definitely strengthened my self-taught skills and added my confidence in working a project from beginning to end. Don’t worry if you have no prior coding knowledge at all, all you need is attitude and eagerness to learn, and you’ll definitely enjoy the course! And don’t forget, you certainly get much more than what you pay for! 

 

 

A good gateway to get in to coding. They provide the all the basic knowledge that you need to get into the field. When you graduated from the course you will get the follow help in finding a job.

It's been a very long time since i wanted to learn programming, but life never goes as planned. Loads of years later, the moment arrived: I was very upset with my past job and decided to leave. "-It's now or never!"
