The Tech Academy is a trade school headquartered in Portland, Oregon that offers full-time and part-time bootcamps online and in-person at their Portland campus. The Tech Academy offers part-time and full-time bootcamps in computer programming, website development, cybersecurity, game development, mobile development, data science, front-end development, tech marketing, and tech sales. The immersive experience aims to create well-rounded technology professionals, and also gives students the option to take the course at their own pace. There are also no set starts dates or rigid scheduling. Students can enroll at any time, study from home, and choose whatever study schedule they would like.
The Tech Academy’s bootcamps cover topics including computer science fundamentals, programming basics, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, C#, Python, Bootstrap, jQuery, React.js, project management, Agile, Scrum, MVC, version control, Java, and more. Each bootcamp also includes a Live Project, where students gain real-life experience to add to their resume as well as job placement assistance.
None of The Tech Academy's bootcamps require any tech background or experience. To apply, applicants need to take an IQ test with logic-based questions (to ensure applicants can read, write and perform basic math), followed by an admissions interview.
The final part of every The Tech Academy bootcamp is the Job Placement Course which covers interviewing skills, resume writing, where to find tech jobs, and gives students access to job placement staff who assist students in landing technical positions.

Amazing Experience

Software Developer Bootcamp
I was a student in the Software Development bootcamp. During that time I learned the foundations of Python, JavaScript, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, Django, .NET, and version control. Personally, I liked that so much was covered because now that I am job searching I see many languages and frameworks that I at least have a basic understanding of. The Tech Academy was self paced which was new for me but I am very happy with how it turned out. I was able to progress well and also take time off if I ...I was a student in the Software Development bootcamp. During that time I learned the foundations of Python, JavaScript, C#, SQL, HTML, CSS, Django, .NET, and version control. Personally, I liked that so much was covered because now that I am job searching I see many languages and frameworks that I at least have a basic understanding of. The Tech Academy was self paced which was new for me but I am very happy with how it turned out. I was able to progress well and also take time off if I needed. There were a string of days where I got the flu and needed rest, and I was able to do that and not fall behind. The instructors are very help both before and during the live projects. The live projects were later in the bootcamp and were a great hands on experience that I will be able to talk about in interviews and build upon.
Pros:
Compared to many bootcamps, TTA was cost effective.
Self paced curriculum allows you to take time off if needed.
Friendly and helpful instructors/staff.
Cons:
I was a student in Eastern Standard Time and they are based in Portland, Oregon. However, this was rarely an issue. I only had 4 or 5 instances where I got stuck first thing in the morning over a 5 month period.

Great instructors, good projects
Fantastic instructors, friendly and kind, helpful
Live project, you get 2 depending on the course you take and they are real world coding experiences where you work with the instructors and other students.

I can't say enough good things about The Tech Academy. I learned so much in such a short period of time. I loved the format of the material, they covered everything from the ground up and even though I had some existing knowledge about computers and web design, I learned fundamentals that I think are skipped over in other bootcamps. I loved that it was self-paced and I could go slower or faster depending on the topic if I needed to or my personal schedule. The instructors are awesome! Full-Stack Software Development (Part Time)
I've always been passionate about new technology, language programs and how websites were built and maintained but I never knew how to go about getting involved. I researched several coding boot camps, tried to self study by utilizing free code camps and a bunch of other third party coding sites but I truly did not know how to get started in the right direction. This is place is amazing! Granted, I am brand new to the tech industry and everything was and is still challenging to me, they help walk you through every course and explain why the programming languages do what they do. They have intermittent quizzes and tests during and after every course you take. They are available to talk to on the phone and e-mail everyday of the week. They truly, truly care about your success and will go the extra mile to make sure you can accomplish your goal on learning software development. I honestly still don't know everything there is to know, the world of tech is ever-changing, but I'm confident I know enough to get my foot through the door as an entry level developer. This program will test you and push you the brink of "I can't do this!" but trust me, if someone who doesn't know anything about the tech world such as myself can graduate and feel confident in my abilities as a programmer, then I know you can too! You certainly have to dedicated your time after work for about 4-6 hours if you work full time, and your weekends for the next 9 months will be full of studying (I took the part time full-Stack software development course) so I was constantly busy all the time. If I can do it, anyone can. I was new to programming and didn't know anything until I started at the Tech Academy. I would unanimously recommend it for anyone wanting to change careers and get into programming! Their job placement team at the end of the course wants you to succeed and get a hired! Great Experience!
I had a great boot camp experience with The Tech Academy. I did my coursework online from home and this allowed my life to be much more flexible. However, that flexibility also made it difficult at times to have the motivation to complete the coursework. Other than my own motivation issues, the boot camp has a lot of good content to learn from. The curriculum had a lot of small projects to work on and had great explanations of topics. The only downside to the curriculum is the beginning ...I had a great boot camp experience with The Tech Academy.
