A Turning Point in My Career

I joined Arol.dev after starting my transition from product design into software engineering. I had some knowledge from self-learning, but I felt I was missing the technical foundations and, more importantly, the mindset of an engineer. Arol.dev went far beyond teaching how to code. It taught me how to approach problems, understand products from a technical perspective, and think like an engineer—skills I still use every day. The staff is one of the things that makes Arol.dev special. They are incredibly talented, approachable, and genuinely invested in your growth. Their guidance and advice have helped me throughout the course and beyond. The experience doesn’t end when the course does either. You become part of a great community where people share their knowledge and experience, and where you build relationships that last. Thanks to Arol.dev and the people I met there, I’m now in a great job where I can continue growing both professionally and personally. Looking back, it has been a truly transformative experience.

      Mixed bag

I have been thinking for a while how to best describe my experience at Integrify. While I have successfully completed the program and even found a job as a developer before completion I am not so sure if it is due to taking part in the program. While the career service was great and being able to speak to teaching assistants with any questions while working on assignments or own projects was very helpful. At the same time my main issues were with the level of teaching and the level and dedication to the course by some of the other students. The program was advertised as intense fulltime course with students required to have some minimum knowledge in html, css and JavaScript. During my time several students were still working full time and attending the course parttime and we had several students that had no idea of even the most basic concepts. This lead to slowing the entire class down. Deadlines for assignments were continuously extended or not completed at all by some students. Many of the classes were not properly prepared and we had to endure instructors that might be good developers but not meant to be teachers. Many students had to rely on paid courses on Udemy, scrimba or else to grasp the concepts that we were supposed to be taught in the program. For those further ahead of the curve there was a lot of time spent waiting and coming up with own ways to learn and apply concepts to own projects. When the main instructor left during the course we were basically on our own for 5 weeks and nothing happened until the AWS lectures which were about as engaging as watching paint dry. The best part was our student organized meetings where we helped each other out with problems and understanding any concepts that were not properly explained during lectures. Overall, I can say that I learned a lot, had the opportunity to spent several months fully dedicated to coding, learning and building my own projects. Helping fellow students and getting their help was close to a real developer work experience, as was the opportunity to jump on calls with the instructor and teaching assistants for feedback or help. Just like having a senior dev to ask. But the main reason I was successful with getting a job was because of being 100% dedicated to studying and coding and I feel that I could have gotten the same end result without the program and without spending a significant amount of money on it. Why I still rate the experience as beneficial is because I would not have been as dedicated without having the structure of a course like this and the interaction with other motivated students.

A waste of time and money

I do not recommend this school to anyone. The availability and attention of the mentors is limited and they are consistently overwhelmed by the high number of students. Additionally, issues with bugs and errors were present in a significant portion of the curriculum. The cost of the program is excessive and the promised accreditation from the Ministry of Education has not been delivered. The job guarantees and partnerships with companies advertised by the school are not reliable, and if a student is hired after finishing the school and subsequently fired within a month, the school will not provide any support or assistance in finding a new job. Overall, this school is a waste of money and should be avoided.

      Web Dev (Fullstack Intensive)

Wcoding is an excellent introduction to the tech-world. Originally a marketer, I wanted to change my career and learn new skills in the wake of the Covid19. Being a total computer-illiterate, I joined the Fullstack Intensive course after a positive impression by Kyle and Judy. Even though the courses were not cheap, it is still much affordable than most tech bootcamps in the US or Europe. As I am now landing an internship in an AI company, I can say the curriculum was well-done and useful. It provides good fundamentals in Front and Back-end as well as the skills in demand on the job market. All the workers (from the founders to teachers and interns) are nice, friendly and helpful. I wish to thank them for that. Big thumbs up for the Job Support also. The school provides a custom-made assistance for the students, sharing with them internships/job opportunities and counselling regarding their visa status. On the other hand, it is called intensive for a reason: do not even think of joining if you are not committed. Keep in mind learning new skills and finding a job is a very taxing process. Especially if you have zero scientific/technical background. As far as I am concerned, it was a very stressful experience. If that's the case, be kind to yourself. Work on your portfolio, stick around and look for internships. To conclude, Wcoding will give you the tools, the guideline and the proper environment to start a career in the Tech Industry. Nonetheless, you will need a lot of time and even more practice to land the job of your dreams at Google. It is hard, but it is doable. Now go coding. Pros: - Teaches useful coding languages and essential coding skills (much more effective than self-studying) - Great team: teachers and developers will always make time to listen to you and help you work on your projects. - Our main teacher Marie was professional and encouraging with a non non-sense attitude. - You learn by doing. - Sets you on track for the job market. - Able to network with other developers. - The school never gives up on you as long as you don't give up on yourself. Suggestions: -How about a slightly longer learning period ? -Create programs based on each student's level (beginner, faux-beginner, experienced and so on...) -Hire more teachers -More counselling about personal development for each student.

Best decision for Full Stack Development in Germany

In this course, you will learn much more than just coding in JavaScript for both the frontend and the backend, covering browser and server development (see curriculum). You will learn how it’s like working together with your classmates in your cohort and all that in an environment (technical and social), that is used by professionals in daily production. The hierarchy is incredible flat and you can talk to Armagan Amcalar and Di Long Lu just like you would with your friends. The difference is that they are seasoned professionals who also run their own tech companies. I mean Armagan is outstanding by himself but you will also have the chance to talk through your graduation project with Alessandro Sabatelli (each of you, half an hour, and that’s a lot), who runs a tech-company in New York and San Francisco (he might mention to you, in a side note, that his agency was the creator of the design for the YouTube App on the Apple iPad). Together with your cohort, you will have a session with him, after everybody has found their idea for their graduation project and built their wireframe. It’s super useful, even if you can listen to the thoughts and advice of Alessandro to all your classmates projects. You will learn a lot and gain valuable insights into the tech world with De Long Lu (our main teacher), who also shares interesting stories. The graduation project includes pair programming sessions. There is hardly a better way to start a coder's career than with Coyotiv. Additionally, the course being conducted in English will open up new opportunities for working in multinational teams, where English is often the primary language. Choosing to take this course was a wise decision, not only for the technical skills you'll acquire but also for the ability to continue learning. After all, the journey of learning never truly ends.
