In this course, you will learn much more than just coding in JavaScript for both the frontend and the backend, covering browser and server development (see curriculum).You will learn how it’s like working together with your classmates in your cohort and all that in an environment (technical and social), that is used by professionals in daily production. The hierarchy is incredible flat and you can talk to Armagan Amcalar and Di Long Lu just like you would with your friends. The difference is that they are seasoned professionals who also run their own tech companies. I mean Armagan is outstanding by himself but you will also have the chance to talk through your graduation project with Alessandro Sabatelli (each of you, half an hour, and that’s a lot), who runs a tech-company in New York and San Francisco (he might mention to you, in a side note, that his agency was the creator of the design for the YouTube App on the Apple iPad). Together with your cohort, you will have a session with him, after everybody has found their idea for their graduation project and built their wireframe. It’s super useful, even if you can listen to the thoughts and advice of Alessandro to all your classmates projects.You will learn a lot and gain valuable insights into the tech world with De Long Lu (our main teacher), who also shares interesting stories. The graduation project includes pair programming sessions. There is hardly a better way to start a coder's career than with Coyotiv.  Additionally, the course being conducted in English will open up new opportunities for working in multinational teams, where English is often the primary language. I recently completed Coyotiv's 13-week full-stack software engineering online course, and I can't express how grateful I am for this transformative experience. 

In the beginning, before deciding to take the course, I had a conversation with the school’s founder, Armagan, with whom I shared my insecurities regarding my abilities to learn programming since I had tried several times in the past and failed. After a long conversation, he made me realize that this experience is not reserved for anyone, and everyone is able to learn, with the right approach of course!!

The curriculum is designed in a way that you learn from the bottom-up, starting with the fundamentals and delving into best practices while at the same time developing problem-solving skills and knowledge of basic algorithms to solve coding challenges. Eventually, you’ll start diving into the backend technologies, building a solid foundation for your application, while finally learning about frontend technologies.

One of the standout aspects of the curriculum was the opportunity to work on a real project, where I had the freedom to choose and develop it from scratch. This hands-on experience allowed me to apply what I learned in class to a real situation, allowing me to develop problem-solving skills and giving me a taste of what it's like to work as a professional software engineer. 

What truly sets Coyotiv apart in my opinion, is the dedication of the instructors. Armagan has an immense amount of knowledge in the field and knows how to make it “click” within you. Furthermore, De Long, our main lecturer, knows how to transform technical lingo into layman's terms, which helps to understand the purpose and functionality of the technologies that are being used. Lastly, Numan, our teaching assistant would have daily discussions, generally aimed at that morning’s lecture, but also open to anything related to programming, as well as pair-programming sessions which were key in cementing the best practices and knowledge that was being imparted on us through the lectures. Their teaching style and dedication were instrumental in my learning journey. They went above and beyond to ensure that every student grasped the concepts and felt supported throughout the course.

The sense of community at Coyotiv is also incredible, and as a graduate, I retain access not only to the community but also to the course videos, allowing me to revisit the valuable content whenever I need it. The support and mentorship provided by the Coyotiv team are unmatched, and they genuinely care about your success. However, you must be willing to put in the required work (it’s a lot!), but you will definitely count on professional guidance and support from experts through this journey.

In my humble opinion, Coyotiv is the best school for anyone interested in learning how to transform an idea into software. I recently completed their course and I am impressed with how much I learned. Before joining, I had attempted to teach myself how to code, but it was a disorganized process. Wow, where to start? Just graduated from this bootcamp this Friday and man, it's been a wild ride!I've trawled through Course Report, deep-dived into Reddit, and finally found 'the one'. The teacher here? Knows his stuff. And hey, it’s not just about making money, they genuinely care. Plus, the whole thing was remote. Score!Hands-down, this was the most intense and exciting learning experience of my life. Beats my university degree hands down. Why? Because you're in there, getting your hands dirty, developing your own app!By the end, you'll be soaking up new concepts and writing code like you were born to do it. Before this, I was a project manager with zero clue about code. Now, I'm practically an engineer. I'm talking to my engineering friends about technical concepts they don't understand. Team work is a crucial component of the course: In the full time course you learn together as a team with your peers, who are always there to push you and help you. It is no exaggeration to say that Coyotiv changed the course of my life. The school provided me with the necessary foundation to develop skills as a software engineer in a broad aspect, but with a central focus on fundamentals. This is exactly what I had not found elsewhere: solid fundamentals. Before joining Coyotiv I had tried: to be self-taught with online classes, do another online bootcamp focused on the job market and react, a school especially for women. These previous experiences were very frustrating, I felt that although I could understand some even complex concepts, I could not finish any exercise, my knowledge was dispersed and fragmented and most instructors had no didactics. What Coyotiv offers, in addition to instructors with a lot of industry experience, is didactics. It is a pedagogical model that prepares you to be autonomous, regardless of language or technology.Now that I recently started my first job as a software engineer, I can understand that the school prepares you to really act in this role.This is because we are taught how to code, but also about all the other necessary attributes: from how to prepare your curriculum, how to think about your career, interview strategies, how to be a good speaker, how to be part of a team, how to contribute to the open source community... Coyotiv means to me today to be part of a community based on collaboration and sharing. The course is super intense. In the 13 weeks I was a part of it (9 weeks course plus 4 preparatory weeks) I breathed Coyotiv. The medium is the most difficult because the content becomes more difficult and it takes time to absorb the enormous amount of information. But during all the time we have all the support of the instructors, who are always present. It is worth mentioning that here I also discovered how fun and enjoyable code can be, breaking with pre-judgments that I had about the profession.By using a one by one methodology, the course adapts to the point where you are and your own interests. Even though I was part of the first class, I got my first job before I finished the course. I was a full-time student in Coyotiv and it was such a crazy journey. The course teaches you to be an independent software engineer who can solve problems with an open mind and courage. The curriculum is so powerful that when the course ends students are able to build and deploy their apps using best practices on code, among the team and in the open source community. Along with this technical power, the course also provided me the soft skills like team-play, task management, problem solving and a proactive way of working.

Absorbing the content in the curriculum, we have always been encouraged to ask all the questions we had and the staff has always been there to answer them in the best way possible. I have never felt left alone and I tried to leave no one alone. The collaboration in the learning process is one of the best assets that Coyotiv provides.

The main teacher Armagan who the owner of the course is extremely arrogant and asking a question is a problem there. Sometimes not even answering the question and leaves it open. The other teachers (former Students) are okay and helpful. Also, thr course is 80% based on backend. Don't expect anything to learn on Frontend. Read less
