The Tech Academy is a trade school headquartered in Portland, Oregon that offers full-time and part-time bootcamps online and in-person at their Portland campus. The Tech Academy offers part-time and full-time bootcamps in computer programming, website development, cybersecurity, game development, mobile development, data science, front-end development, tech marketing, and tech sales. The final part of every The Tech Academy bootcamp is the Job Placement Course which covers interviewing skills, resume writing, where to find tech jobs, and gives students access to job placement staff who assist students in landing technical positions.

A great start.
The Tech Academy is a great place to start your journey in software development. I recently completed the Software Developer boot camp and I couldn't be happier. It starts off with basics of computers and how they work. Then you get into the basics of multiple languages like Python, JavaScript, and C#. Good Bootcamp
I had prior experience with programming before I joined this bootcamp and the main purpose was to add and reinforce knowledge. Needless to say, the bootcamp exceeded the expectations. Yes some things are repetative and even if you know something well you can't skip it (which did end up pretty annoying sometimes). I took the online course, but my advice would be to to the bootcamp in-person if possible (you'll get more connections and a physical place you go to). A Good Bootcamp for Any Level
The Cyber Security Bootcamp through The Tech Academy not only taught cyber security content but also taught software development and basic computer concepts to make sure you have a good foundational knowledge before diving into security concepts. Great bootcamp experience
I learned so much during my time with the Tech Academy. They start out covering computer fundamentals and terminology, and end with building real programs! I did the remote part time option so I could do this while working and I will say it takes serious time and commitment. But the instructors are so helpful anytime you feel stuck or unsure and I felt supported the whole way through. I developed the project in 2 weeks and added it onto my portfolio website.

Video Game Developer Bootcamp Woes
I took the Game Development course with the Tech Academy. At first it was going really well. I was learning a lot and was able to apply a lot of what I was learning in my real life. I appreciate that they taught me from the ground up. It really allows you to be able to understand the reason things are done the way they are and how it all works. I started with computer science, went to web development and dabbled in databases and bootstrap and other smaller courses. This was the best part...I took the Game Development course with the Tech Academy. At first it was going really well. I was learning a lot and was able to apply a lot of what I was learning in my real life. I appreciate that they taught me from the ground up. It really allows you to be able to understand the reason things are done the way they are and how it all works. I started with computer science, went to web development and dabbled in databases and bootstrap and other smaller courses. This was the best part of this course. It was time for game development.
I was very excited to start game development and was ready to go all in. I start the course on Unity and C#. It was going really well when I was learning the C# language and then the learning of Unity started. Suddenly I was directed toward a different website to learn the basics of Unity. This website is called PluralSight. Pluralsight charges $22 a month to use. I already paid about 11k for the course and was told to go to this other site to learn Unity.
You can see what happened there right? They didn't have any curriculum for Unity Basics and didn't feel like making any so they send you to another site that costs a tiny fraction of what The Tech Academy charges. I brought this up several times during the class because I was extremely put off by it. I could have gone to this other site and done this myself for way less than I paid for the game development course.
I'm glad I learned what I learned but I am really disappointed in the gaming course in specific. Best way to start for someone who likes Technology but doesn't have a plan

Definitely Recommend
I would definitely recommend this bootcamp. The instructors were always a phone call away if I had any questions and never made me feel stupid or like I was bothering them. I feel like I have a good basis for coding, even though I came in with no experience. I'm currently in the job placement phase and feel like I'm getting the support I need to land a job.
