My experience at Skill Switch was transformative. The bootcamp was easy to follow and understand. While it was self-paced and all online, they pushed me to follow the recommended timeline which was rewarding. It allowed me to work on meaningful projects, enhancing my portfolio with Python, Django, and AWS skills. The instructors were knowledgeable and supportive.

I was amazed by how knowledgeable and helpful the staff was, anything I had questions about they had answers even if my question went over the scope of the course. They really helped make me a full stack developer, I went from someone with little to no knowledge in coding to someone who can develop a full-fledged web - app.

I recently accepted a job offer as Software Engineer after graduating from Fullstack Academy's Web Development Bootcamp. Throughout my bootcamp and job search experience, I felt fully supported by Fullstack Academy. Some of the most important things I learned was how to feel confident when approaching any new problem and also what to do in a Technical Interview. The instructors really knew what they were talking about. I should also say that the Career Success Coaches were incredibly valuable also. They were always available to answer my questions and give advice. 

I loved the content, this has been by far the most informative course I ever attended. I appreciate team's expertise and insight on what it's like actually working at a giant company.

The teachers are open to all kinds of questions and that's what kind of differentiates this one from some courses that are plain videos & questionnaires. So - awesome content, keep up the good work!

With the help of the Macro Fellowship, I was able to transition from being a senior engineer at a large Web2 company to working at a blockchain defi startup.

I was already learning Solidity and Ethereum before the fellowship, but now I can write and audit secure smart contracts.

I really enjoyed learning a lot about security in web3 and learning in depth how Solidity contracts end up as EVM byte code. The fellowship also allowed me to meet great people in web3 / learning about web3. I really appreciated how most of the Solidity code I wrote was audited—provided me with great feedback.

Let me first say that when I first found out about GenSpark that I was impressed with the way that they were positioned to help both tech companies looking to hire new employees, and students or others looking to make a career switch into the IT field. I was in my second to last course before finishing my web development certification at CSU Global, and while they had told us that we would be able to get a job as an entry level developer, because I was inexperienced and that's one of the main factors that employers look at when hiring new employees, it was really scary and unnerving (borderline hopeless) thinking about the fight ahead of me to get into a new career.  That said, I saw GenSpark as an opportunity for all 3 of us; them, their partners, and myself to win without all of the worry and headache, so I took a chance and said, "Let's make this happen," and jumped on with them. 

Since I have been training in the Mainframe cohort with GenSpark I can tell you that 2 things have stood out to me. The first thing is, that GenSpark is not playing. They have the connections that they say that they have, and they will get you trained... And then paid. The second thing is that the courses are JAM PACKED with a TON of learning, so be in "NOT EVEN PLAYING" mode from square one or be prepared to get your feelings hurt. (even though they will try to make sure that you don't...)

Now that this is out of the way, "going well" has got to be the understatement of the year! I adore GenSpark and everything is moving right along as planned. The support is exactly the way it should be. It doesn't matter if your computer is updating and you were unable to check in, or you need a miracle worker to fix something more personal or technically impossible, they are "answer you right back and let's get that fixed for you" PERFECT. And that's the only way I would describe them.  The training had me triaged at first and trying to catch up for a minute, but only because I didn't know what to expect and it kind of shocked me at first, not because it's impossible. 

Bottom line, I really appreciate what GenSpark is doing, and whether it's the way that they are positioned to help companies and HR teams (which, according to this study
 (Links to an external site.) that shows that 97% of employers are planning to increase their investments in recruiting technology, only proves that they are obviously unhappy...) students, recent graduates, and career changers, (who, when you consider the fact that relevant job experience is one of the main drivers for manager looking to fill a position, and the fact that 97% of graduates
 (Links to an external site.) feel like they will need on-the-job training to further their careers after graduation, you could basically say that they are in a horrible position without the help...) or dreamers like me that are making progress towards even bigger dreams down the road and have plans that may end up making a big impact because of their ambition, whether it be within a company or in the evolution of IT itself... I believe that GenSpark is playing a major role and at the frontier of everything that is good in the hiring world. I am in my last week of training, and they had us set up with one of their big tech company partner before we even signed on, so I give them five stars! BRAVO! and THANKS GENSPARK!

I paid $2000 for this early on in the pandemic.  Everything was a bit chaotic, as they were moving all their programs fully online.  The teachers were fine, the material was solid as well.  It seems like a lot of sales training programs all draw from the same well.  But delivered all out of order, so I had to spend weeks and weeks waiting to get to the part that I was interested in - Salesforce.  We weren't a cohort so much as a hodgepodge, all of us at different points in the program.  Anyway, I was unable to get hired, but not for lack of trying or solid coaching.  I made a lot of cold calls, and took a lot of interviews, but it was all for naught.  My business re-opened and I had to go back to my old job anyway.  I would have liked to keep some of the course materials, and my interview tracking sheet, but they deleted my account without asking or notifying me so, that was a bit lame.  

After spending five weeks in the Capslock cybersecurity course, I have mixed feelings about the experience. 

On the positive side, the team-based learning approach seems to work well for many students, with around 75% of graduates reportedly finding jobs within six months of finishing the course. The course also provides access to valuable resources such as RangeForce and O'Reilly, and the people at Capslock are generally friendly and helpful. 
Additionally, the course offers a cybersecurity practitioner certification, which could be useful for some learners.

However, there are several drawbacks to the course that I feel potential students should be aware of. Despite being advertised as "live classes," the actual instruction time is minimal. Instead, most of the learning takes place within teams, with students researching topics and creating PowerPoints on their own.

Unfortunately, many of the course tutors are past students with limited knowledge and experience in cybersecurity. I found that I was often left to solve problems and answer questions on my own, even during "live" class sessions. Furthermore, some of the security measures used by Capslock seem to be amateurish and easily bypassed, raising concerns about the quality of instruction and the safety of student data.

Ultimately, while Capslock may work well for some students, I would caution anyone who is truly passionate about cybersecurity against taking this course. The cost is high, and much of the learning seems to take place outside of class time, with little support from instructors. I personally feel that I could have learned more on my own with the same amount of time and effort. 

As it stands, I have left the course due to what I consider to be an overreaction on the part of Capslock, ( They left a hyperlink to their intranet on a banner and when I clicked on it they accused me of being unethical and gaining unauthorised access). 

Luckily I was offered a full refund if I leave so I took that.

Great feeling when it's done, how these challenges shape your way of thinking to solve different problems. It's amazing to see how each challenge contributes to personal growth, fostering creativity and resilience. Overall, it's an enriching experience that not only improves technical prowess but also moulds you into a more resourceful and confident individual.
