Read MoreLaunch School is an online program for studious beginners whose goal is to become professional developers. The program focuses on fundamentals of programming and software engineering including core problem solving, programming language fundamentals, object-oriented programming, networking, databases, and guides students through a structured path of building up proficiency in software development. The program consists of two main phases: Core Curriculum and Capstone. The Core Curriculum uses a mastery-based learning pedagogy to teach fundamentals of software development. It takes approximately 1200-1800 hours (8-16+ months) to complete, and students can choose either a Ruby or JavaScript focused track through Core. After that, there is an optional and admissions-based Capstone Program that's focused on helping students acquire career-launching opportunities. The Capstone Program takes 4 months full-time and employs an Income Sharing Agreement where students pay after they get a job offer. Read MoreAndrew Jones

online resources. I was working full-time, and my efforts up to that point had not been too
successful. But the moment I started reading Launch School materials was the moment my
studies started building towards something bigger. “This process will take longer than you
want it to, but if you take your time and do things the right way, it will be worth it.” It was a
message I didn’t really want to hear after I had already put a year into the effort, but a
message I knew that I needed to hear anyway. No other course I had tried was stating this
truth so clearly and honestly. I knew up front that the first two or three months of Launch
School would cover material that I already knew well, and I would feel a bit frustrated at
first about “starting over”. Nevertheless, I jumped in right away, with the realistic
expectation that it might take another two years or more before I could accept a job offer.
Friends and family were incredulous when I shared my excitement about this program, but
there was no reason for me not to be hopeful. The pedagogy–starting from the ground up,
building mastery of fundamentals, verifying the knowledge of students before allowing
them to continue, and slowly building confidence through that verification–made all the
sense in the world to me. And Launch School had the results to back up their claims, not only
with numbers, but with real people. Engineers with credentials, people who had been
through the process and were now working for amazing companies, were hanging around
in the chat channels, answering questions and talking about their work. I trusted the
process from the beginning because I was convinced that everything about Launch School
was genuine.
To make a long story short, the process worked. The Core Curriculum taught me the
fundamental concepts I needed, and at my own part-time pace. Capstone extended and
integrated that knowledge by cultivating it in a dedicated, full-time, team-based
environment. Working every day with other students, and with program graduates as
mentors, I was able to learn interviewing skills and contribute to the development of an
amazing product. I began to feel proficient. Capstone prepared me so well for the hiring
process that, once I finally started interviewing, I was full of confidence, and there were no
surprises. I knew I belonged in those hiring pools because Capstone had given me the
preparation I needed.
After finishing Capstone, I secured a job as a Senior Software Engineer within six weeks,
with essentially the Capstone average salary–a higher salary that I had originally hoped for.
Now it’s been a year since I graduated. I’m at a company where I love to work, and I’m able
to jump into any task or project that interests me and find my way thanks to my strong
background in the fundamentals. I work at a company that supports continuing education,
gives me a voice in what projects I work on, and has a clear path to promotion and career
development. My family is able to buy a new house. And honestly, this is all thanks to Launch
School. I was nowhere close to making this kind of progress after a year of self-study. But
after less than two years in Launch School, I had everything that I needed to get a great job
as an engineer and build a lifelong career. The same has been true for many others, and I
would recommend Launch School, the Core Curriculum and Capstone, as an excellent
choice for anyone who is interested in starting a career in software engineering.- 75Reviews0CoursesInteraction Design Foundation’s UX bootcamps are part-time, fully online programs with a focus on job-readiness. I know most everyone who reads these reviews wants to know whether or not they will get a job and I'm confident to say that if I can do it, anyone can do it. The only downside I can think of with this bootcamp would be that my cohort was over 70 students which made it a bit tough to get 1 on 1 time with the instructors and to have your personal questions answered. However, there are mentors in the cohorts in which they provide outside class office hours that you can attend to ask any questions if you can spare any time outside the course itself. Read MoreIn late 2022, I began the devCodeCamp (hereafter, "dCC") Computer Science Engineer bootcamp with prior experience testing websites and a little exposure to the frontend markup languages, HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA, and JavaScript. Through 20 weeks of rigorous, rapid-paced instruction and practice, I gained a confident handle on the technologies that I learned, including Python, Django REST Frameworks, Postman API, Java, Cypress, SQL, MySQL, CSS Flexbox, JavaScript, and React.js. I went from knowing usability and markup to practicing full stack development.
There were several important professional development concepts integrated into the structure of the program. For example, we were practiced Agile principles, gave "standups" to report our progress on a project, and were paired for certain projects. Some of the questions for which we were required to give written answers helped us practice our communication skills. The course went beyond just programming to give us a taste of the real-world environment for which we were preparing.
I have taken a lot of online trainings before dCC, and this was the best value for the cost of training that I paid for. The lessons were well-coordinated as each teacher conveyed the same information about the lesson. The live lectures and demos were supported by corresponding videos and slide shows to give us multiple ways to engage and review the course content. The teachers were responsive to visit us in breakout rooms for extra support as needed.
Anyone with no prior programming experience (as I was) should expect to spend a lot of time after class to reviewing the lessons and practicing the basics. Be encouraged to ask a lot of questions to clarify terms and concepts that are unfamiliar. The pace is fast, and you must be diligent to reach out to the instructors about any difficulties you face so that they may help you reach your goals.
I ask a lot of questions in class. Each teacher handled my questions, no matter how difficult, with patience and grace. Their confidence gave me the confidence that instructors were not only competent but experts in the field. This increased the value of what they were teaching me.
Five months ago, I knew none of this. I give dCC the highest recommendation for equipping me with a variety of tools and projects to approach the software development industry with the foundation to understand and contribute as I continue my growth as a developer.
Adding icing to the cake is that dCC also provides career support from the first month of the course. That support, an introductory online seminar with a Career Services employee, set the tone and foundation for the end goal of our training to enter the workforce!
As a graduate, the plan to help us find employment was clear, consistent, and definitive. dCC stands out to me as top-notch in support from Admissions to Career Services, comparable to the services of a traditional college. From start to finish, thank you, dCC!... Read Less

Read MoreI finished Coding Foundations today and it has been wonderful, hard, at times a depressing and rewarding experience. I had a really great cohort and met some amazing people in this program. We did have our first teacher leave halfway through the program, which threw some of us off a little as they were an amazing teacher and then we had to switch to a completely new teaching style. Our new teacher was knowledgeable and a little faster paced than our previous one. I was fine with the fast pace because it works for me, so I enjoyed him as a teacher overall. Financing wise was the hardest for me being an out of state remote student which is why I cannot continue to Immersions (Software Development) unfortunately. If you are an out of state student just be mindful or have the full tuition prepared because you cannot get the school's deferred tuition or other help if you cannot get a loan for both halves of the program. As the program is split into two parts (Coding Foundations and Software Development) you can be approved for a Climb loan for the first half and not approved for the second, leaving you with no certification or job assistance and a loan to pay back. If you're in state they have many options and resources available to help you.
In the end it was a rewarding experience and I learning a lot. I am grateful for this experience and I'm excited to continue my journey on a slightly different path than I intended! We had some student services employees taking the class with us and they are phenomenal people so I know students are in good hands when entering immersions and beyond! Thank you to everyone who put up with my silliness you are the best. I may have to visit Indiana someday because you guys represented so well! Mate academy

I learned so much in 4 months that I never learned in a year when I was in college or school. In exactly 4 months I got my first offer letter from the employer where I am working right now!
Here you can interact with people from all around the world. Here you learn how to work with a team and individually. Always there will be a Mentor to help you if you have some issue with your understanding of the concept or your code, there will be someone to review your code (other students and final review by Mentors) which is not possible with online courses or other resources.
Here you will not just learn to program but you will learn soft skills as well, which is much more important than coding skills, especially when you have to work with people from a different culture.
You have so many tech checks and interview practices that you will never be nervous in your real interview.
The best part is that you will get a job assistance which is not just for your first job but for your next job as well. Mate is not asking for anything upfront but just your dedication and being honest with yourself.
Hopefully, this will help other students as well who are looking for a good school to start their career in software development.- 49Reviews1CourseUX Design Institute is an accredited online UX design program that offers intensive 6-month or 12-month courses, resulting in a Professional Diploma in UX De... Once I started, I was greeted by my mentor and tutor, who have been with me since day one and have provided me with a plethora of helpful feedback, advice, and additional resources to read throughout my journey. The response time I get from everybody has been incredibly quick whether it's waiting for an assignment to get reviewed, or if I have a general question about the assignment I'm on or even just UX in general. I've also recently been connected with a career coach, and while our interactions have been limited at this point, I've already gained some truly helpful insight from her, and look forward to our future meetings.... What I love about the course is that it's an at-your-own pace program, meaning you can do it as fast as you please, or at your own convenience. Because my current job has ebbs and flows to the amount of work I'm given, I can play catchup on slow weeks and get many tasks submitted, or submit just one or two assignments on busier weeks and make sure I'm giving myself enough breaks to where I can decompress and try to absorb the information before jumping back into it. The course has been prepared excellently with an intro course that gives you the basics of what UX entails and provides you with a quick project to kickstart your journey. Once you complete that part, you're thrown into UX Immersion where you take on a course project for the entire duration, starting from research practices like competitor analysis and user interviews, to creating a high-fidelity prototype of the responsive web-app you are tasked to create. While I'm not the entire way through this course yet, I'm enjoying every second of my journey and feel like I'm truly developing great portfolio pieces that I can add to my website and start applying for jobs with in no time. I also love that there's a Slack community with highly active students, alumni, and CF staff that are always extremely helpful from answering questions to offering and asking for feedback on assignments. I've already made several connections I'm thrilled to have and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. DataScientest

The material was very well put together. The LMS was well structured and some lessons were borrowed from Codecademy Pro as well as LinkedIn. The teaching team handled feedback well in the spirit of continuous improvement.
The teaching of data science was complemented with various sessions on job search, writing resumes and applications, building up your profile on LinkedIn and how to interview with prospective employers.
The pace of the course was challenging at the beginning, after all it is a bootcamp. However, there were lots of well detailed instructions to catch up. I liked it a lot that there were optional challenges and material to discover for self studies. That way every participant could build up from their already existing knowledge. Over time expectations shifted to mostly figure things out by yourself. This left me with a solid sense of what I can now do on my own. The "learning by doing" culminated in a 3 week final project (optionally on campus). My final project was "Generating a topical map for a niche website." I ended up with a solid result, which I'll test on a real website in the coming months.
The best part of the bootcamp was our teaching staff. Our lead teacher treated us as adults and allowed us to push as hard as we could into any direction. He patiently helped us through problems of understanding and went the extra mile to research issues he had not seen before. At the same time he fostered a lot of collaboration and team spirit.
There were no negatives for me along the way. I wish I could extend the camp for another 4 weeks.
If you are looking for hands-on training in data science and have 15 weeks of time, I can highly recommend the WBS bootcamp.
