Le Wagon

I made other courses, but my experience at Le Wagon was different from any other before! First of all, it's a incredible crash-course! Loads of information, but disposed in a simple and super didatic way. It's amazing how you can easily learn with this bootcamp methodology! We feel like a family, teachers treat us so friendly and are always available when we need. I felt like they are always capable to help me with my questions but helping me to think and not onluy giving the answers. It was a 6 month bootcamp, really intense, classes 3 times a week but it took all my saturday, and even though it was so heavy, I never felt tired, uninterested or abandoned. It was a hard bootcamp and all times I thougth giving up, they take some of their time to speak with me, keep me motivated to keep going. Every class we had a content review (we study the lesson in video before) and after that we had some challenges to try, always having a teacher support. We never do the challenges alone, so we experienced a real life workflow. At the end o the bootcamp we finished it with 2 big projects to start our professional portifolio. I recently completed Le Wagon's Full Stack Web Development bootcamp in London. I was part of Batch 1230. The first phrase that comes to mind is "Wow! What a ride!" For those that don't know yet, this is a 9 week intensive bootcamp that trains you to be able to be able to build dynamic websites/ apps using Ruby on Rails, Html, CSS and Javascript and a host of other technologies.
 I'm not joking around when I say Intensive. This has possibly been one of the hardest but also most rewarding things I have done in recent memory. I'm a career switcher and just getting to the point of progressing forward into this new stage of my life was a journey in itself. I had been wanting to change careers for a few years as I felt really bored and unfulfilled in what I was doing. I possess a creative mind and I wanted to start using this again. I had on multiple occasions, attempted to learn some sort of coding from home using some online courses. While these are good to start with to see if you actually enjoy coding I always found that if the subject matter became a little too complex or difficult for me to understand I would quickly become distracted and drop what I was doing only to come back a couple of weeks later and realise I had forgotten everything I was learning. So based on this I realised I needed to be in a classroom with teachers that care about your progression and can offer you all the support you need. 

A bootcamp made the most amount of sense to me as I was only able to take a limited amount of time off from earning an actual income. This wasn't a quick or impulse decision either. I spent a long time shopping around and looking at all the other options and schools out there. I was very weary of what was out there as not every school is on the same level. I ended up choosing Le Wagon because everything I found about them was extremely positive and their curriculum was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to learn both front end and back end technologies while also understanding a little bit of the design process. 

Every day during the coding bootcamp presented new challenges, and as someone with little to no coding experience, I often felt overwhelmed by the concepts and daily tasks. However, alongside those feelings of being overwhelmed, I also experienced a deep sense of excitement and happiness for taking the initiative to invest in myself and pursue the desired changes in my life.

The lecturers and teaching assistants (TAs) in the bootcamp were incredibly passionate, engaging, and always eager to assist in any way possible. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it made the learning environment even more enjoyable. I developed a strong connection with my classmates, and it was a pleasure to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. Over the course of nine weeks, we became a close-knit family.

The bootcamp concluded with a special project that allowed us to apply all the skills we had acquired during the previous two months. Working in a small team, I had the opportunity to design and develop a beautiful web-based app based on an idea I had envisioned. I take immense pride in the outcome of this project. While I don't consider myself an expert in web development after just nine weeks, I do believe that I have established a solid foundation and acquired the necessary skills to continue learning and pursue this exciting path.

Overall, the entire bootcamp experience was incredible. It provided me with valuable knowledge and a supportive community. Although there is still much more to learn, I am grateful for the solid foundation I have built and I am excited to continue my learning journey in this field.

Frankly speaking I was a bit afraid that the bootcamp is only 2 months but in the end it seems enough. They give us the core understanding of the matter and even sometimes the newest trends. With these skills and knowledge it would be easy to develop further. The career week is also useful and full of insights. Do not think that this is a pill to get a job - the job search is not an easy task for a beginner after any kind of education but the fact is that you will be able to use your knowledge of data science to do projects.
A chance to realize your own project is great. The choice of used tools in setup is nice. The coding part of the course (python week it's called?) was especially great. The data science tools used are also useful.

But be aware that you have to code and understand code. So some sort of technical propensities is a must have imo. If coding is not as exiting maybe you should consider data analyst bootcamp.


Overall it was a positive experience and I've enjoyed it.

My experience in bootcamp was amazing, course content and teaching style make team collaborate easy. Bootcamp is very intensive, I want to advise to others who wants to join it, you really need to be sure that next 2 month you have all your time for that, if you want to take the maximum from it and believe me you want. I did Le Wagon in Cape Town and it was an eye-opening experience! It opens you up to the world of technology in a spring style fashion. Only once the whirlwind has ended does one realise the knowledge gained and the skills acquired. Outside of the techincal parts of the bootcamp, the experience teaches one to push themselves each day. Being in a group and using a buddy system propells the learning process even further, as well as being able to create new friendships and connections. I attended Data Science bootcamp Le Wagon in spring-summer 2023. It was great time. Previously I have dealt with AI staff in academia, but did not image how is it on practice, and what is Data Science in companies. During the bootcamp I learned unexpectedly a lot of new things, although with their titles I had been to some extend familiar. It was very intensive, but very-very useful. Also final project helped to dive into the team work which is very important as a soft-skill in the work at companies. Spent great time with Le Wagon, would everybody recommend. Read less

I have just finished the Data Science bootcamp at Le Wagon Brazil. It was an incredible and very intense experience, both technically and socially. The course teachers are very well prepared and the course system is very good, with live and recorded classes and teacher assistants available for questions, and there are recorded classes available on the course platform, which helps a lot in the experience. Le Waggon Data Science bootcamp is a very structured 9 week 'bootcamp' program. It is designed to provide job readiness for students with different prerequisite in a short period of time. The program is devided into different one or two week modules climaxing in two (more or less) unstructured project weeks. Each day starts with 2-3 hours of lectures followed by practical exercises (challenges) and a wrap up lecture/live coding session in the afternoon. The staff had to remind us to take brakes as it is easy to get carried away. Consequentially without prior knowledge in the field it seemed overwhelming at first. The teaching staff reassured us, that we should trust the process and encouraged us to just plow through. Over time the confidence and knowledge built up that each student was able to contribute once project week had arrived. I am immensely proud of my co-students and myself to have mastered the program. It is hard to explain how much you can grow professionally in 9 weeks. The comradery between students that build over the course of 9 weeks was absolutely amazing. And I can fully understand why LeWagon is a big family as all of the teaching staff had also done the course before, hence LeWagon is a training facility as much as a big network with 20.000+ graduates to date. Everything amazing, since the content selection, the methodology, teachers, but in my opinion the methodology of the course was the most surprising thing, structured to leave no unnecessairy doubts along the course, challenging, and mixing theorithical and practical content.

About the staff, the communication was clear since pre-course, all staff were polite and kind, willing to help and straighforward in terms of solutions!

In one word, I would describe the course as "mindblowing"! In a more extensive way, It was a surprise for me how well structured the course is, preparing us for the real word, leaving no blank spaces of knowledge, being clear when one subject that was being taught had a lot more of content to be studied after the course (this was a highlight for me, as it helped me to be more down-to-earth in terms of depth of each knowledge, instead of thinking I had learned all there is about it). Also, I was amazed of how well prepared the teachers are, and how they conducted the classes! As many other students I guess, I was very sad to end my time in Le Wagon, and really hope to keep in touch with the community! Read less

Le Wagon was an absolutely amazing experience. I never expected to meet so many great people, learn so many new things and have so much fun.
