To be honest, I was skeptical about Perpetual Education in the beginning. After checking out their website it felt much more like a designer or UX/UI leaning course. I really loved their outlook and approach to educating, but it wasn't the path that I wanted. I (thought) I was looking for a backend path or maybe fullstack. I did return to them eventually and after chatting with Ivy and Derek, I was assured that with how they set up the program, there are eventually different routes and different areas to focus on during the course, but they are heavy on teaching about the design DOs and DON'Ts so that more developers are able to create with more purpose and not making broken things. The course is heavily reliant on group participation and communication. When students aren't involved, it can impact everyone, so don't go into this (or any study program) if you can't dedicate yourself to learning and keeping up with everyone. It's not fair to you or anyone else. The participation with fellow students has been some of the best experience and learning from the program. Others would ask questions I hadn't thought of or would run into issues and we could all learn from that as a team. There is an expectation to meet with Derek at least once a week to chat about whatever you need to. If you are struggling with understanding a concept, he can work with you one on one to get a better idea and how to practice so that the information will stick. Do NOT skip out on these meetings. It is single-handedly possibly the best benefit to this course. Now, for job assistance, they aren't going to hand out jobs for everyone to apply to, because that isn't their goal anyway. They want everyone to find their own focus and discover the kind of companies you want to work for. If you really like camping and hiking and outdoorsy stuff, find a cool company that aligns with that and figure out how you can get a job there. Then you will get the assistance you want/need for polishing your resume, your portfolio and generally preparing for interviews and such. Para no ser extenso y dar una valoración lo mas resumida posible podría decir que he pagado para obligarme a mi mismo a aprender en tan poco tiempo lo que podria haber aprendido por mi propia cuenta (con cursos de udemy, coursera, platzi....etc) en mayor periodo de tiempo. Boream en si no es una escuela o centro de formación especializado o dedicado exclusivamente a formar futuros desarrolladores .Ellos lo dicen en su web, son una empresa del sector tecnologico y se dedican a ello, pero la formación es una porción de su negocio y no en si el 100% de su actividad como otros bootcamps. Por lo que he podido sacar algunos aspectos negativos que son los que voy a enumerar ya que las ventajas o fortalezas ya se encarga la misma empresa de promocionar en su portal: *El temario esta desactualizado por lo que muchas veces se improvisa en la enseñanza para poder actualizarlo (sobretodo en javascript y angular) *Poca trayectoria en el ambito de la formación (alrededor de 2 años ) por lo que no tienen una organización o ruta concisa para seguir. Todavia se trabaja al "prueba y error". *Poca flexibilidad en la ruta a seguir, que a pesar de estar desactualizada, te obliga a buscarte la vida para entender lo que se dio por la mañana y que no pudiste comprender ya que hay unos plazos para terminar el temario, por lo que vas a recurrir a cursos en otras plataformas online para poder "igualarte" en el tema ya dado. * Los profesores son muy buenos, pero es distinto a ser muy bueno haciendo tu trabajo que realizando formación o enseñando. Esto me paso con el profesor de javascript que al ser muy bueno daba por sentado cosas muy obvias para él pero que para el estudiante pueden ser piezas importantes para entender y progresar en el lenguaje. Lo que *Sensación de no enfoque o desinterés sobre los estudiantes. Como había comentado anteriormente, la mayor parte de su facturación no viene de la formación, por lo que van a priorizar su trabajo en ese ambito antes que intentar que sus estudiantes exploten al máximo el bootcamp. Muchas veces me senti como si estuviera pagando por alquilar el espacio para estudia y practicar alli. No existe la figura del profesor dedicado exclusivamente al bootcamp. Son trabajadores de la empresa y realizan ambas cosas. *Al ser una empresa pequeña no tienen esa capacidad para presentarte en la "hiring week" un gran abanico de empresas como lo hay en otros bootcamps. *El profesor de HTML y CSS, con mas de 20 años de experiencia trabajando en este sector, tiene un sistema de formación muy estricto y exigente en el que debo decir 2 cosas que mis compañeros pudieron avalarlo tambien: La primera es que al ser exigente vas a poder progresar "rápido" ya que te mete mucha caña pero tiene la contra en que probablemente pasarás un "calvario" si tienes pocos conocimientos o base de estas tecnologías. En las evaluaciones yo sinceramente sentía nervios porque el profesor no tiene mucho tacto al hablar de tus debilidades y en las que te puede, incluso, hacer llorar ( lo vi en una compañera .) Finalizando, no me siento contento con lo que he adquirido por lo que he pagado. El 80% del conocimiento que he adquirido puedo decir que lo he adquirido por mi propia cuenta (con cursos de udemy, platzi..etc).Tambien he podido sentir que no tienen enfoque por la satisfacción del estudiante. En los 2 ultimos meses están pensando más quien viene y paga el proximo bootcamp que en que sus alumnos puedan recomendarlos por el "boca a boca".
