Engaging, Interactive Course, lackluster Job Prospects

Course was very fun, challenging, and informative. Classes were structured at the right pace...occasionally material was confusing, however both instructors (Britni and Tricia) gave us ample time to ask questions. I was blessed to work with 4 other smart, capable students in a preassigned small group for a project (1 member later dropped out which did increase the workload). Nevertheless, this is a great course if you're new or seasoned to product management. Cost is on the higher side f...

    Worth the hard work!

I attended my Software Engineering Immersive (SEI) bootcamp with General Assembly in mid-late 2022.

Having previously met and hired multiple graduates from GA I went in having done quite a lot of my own + some crowdsourced research, and was not disappointed.
Definitely not for the faint of heart, GA will take your education (and post-graduation) seriously, and push you to the limits of what you can accomplish in a short time frame (12 week immersive in my case).

    Intense and rewarding bootcamp

This was one of the most intense courses I did, it's only 6 days long, but the content was great.
We went from ideation to investor deck in less than a week.  The instructor was outstanding, had great communication skills and a wealth of product experience.
The content is very clear and systematic with multiple external references to drill into on your own time. The group exercises were engaging and practical. A very wholesome experience. The job assistance wasn't amazing, there ar...

Dived in to the Software Engineer Immersive Course

I recently completed a 12 week software engineer immersive course at GA Sydney and I couldn't be happier with the result. The course covered a wide range of topics, including computer history, javascript, ruby on rails, jQuery, react, and Vue. I was impressed by the creativity and fun aspects of the course, such as learning three JS and p5, and even creating music with sonicPi.

One of my favourite parts of the course was the weekly projects that allowed us to put our k...

    Difficult, Fulfilling, and Life Changing

This course was worth every penny. I learned so much and grew so much as a developer in this class. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone looking to learn full stack Web Development. The Instructors and TA's are top notch, friendly, and helpful!

    Experience of a lifetime

Fantasically engaging and informative lessons, with a great blend of interaction and lectures to gain a vast amount of knowledge in a short period of time. There was constant support and help throughout from class mates and instructors to make it feel like one big community. A great atmospjere inside the cohort which promoted positivity and encouraged all members of the class to participate.

    Product Management

I participated in the remote online Product Management course that spanned the course of 10 weeks. During which I had the opportunity to learn about the product lifecycle, how to conduct user interviews, and how to effectively present my discovery findings. There was also ample time during class to practice what we were learning with other classmates, learning from each others ideas as well as networking with one another. I thought the instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and engaging ...

Your experience is a hit or miss. Depends on how lucky you are. I was not so lucky but I found a job. That said, I DO NOT recommend GA. Here's why:

    1. Push to know your instructor before paying and LinkedIn research your instructor before starting
The admissions team said they didn't know who would teach my cohort, I should have delayed paying until I knew. My instructor may be a great designer but had zero corporate experience. He started his own design comp...

    Python Programming (Part-Time)

The Python course was great! Easy to follow along and the professor was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at guiding us through the course. It was a lot of material to cover and it only brushes on some topics but I understood it was never meant to be in-depth, which was great for me because it gave me enough grit to get it started and seek out more knowledge on my own. There's definitely a large component of discipline I had to have, being a non-programmer entering this course meant I...

    Data Science

My experience at GA was extremely positive. I was very impressed with GA's team knowledge, with their way of teaching and how the course was correctly structured and timely-measured. These guys they really know what they are doing and working on. Their resources and availability to help the students to understand re-explaining what as much as needed in order to make sure that the concepts are understood it's something remarkable. If you are looking to give your first-deep-steps in Data S...

    UXDI

I really enjoyed taking the course and learning so much about UX Design. While I came from a Graphic Design background, the instructors were so thorough and helpful when it came to learning a whole new side of design. Especially for my classmates who maybe had no design/ artsy/ creative backgrounds. It is a lot of work jam packed into a short period, so make sure you don't have a lot of other responsibilities/ priorities. You will occasionally have to pull all nighters to get things done...

    Python Accerlated Course

Personally, their style didn't work for me. There are slides provided, the instructor briefly reads through them and then splits us into groups to work. They encouraged us to google if we got stuck, but I wanted guided instruction. There weren't any back-up instructors available so when our instructor became sick we lost that day of instruction. They tried to do make-up days, but they didn't work for most of the students and only made-up a fraction of the lost instruction. It didn't feel...
