Full Stack Software Engineering Immersive Fellow

My time at General Assembly, while relatively brief, was an intense period packed with learning about the latest and most popular internet software development languages and technologies. The full-stack immersive regimen helped me develop multiple apps as proof of my proficiency and training, and the importance of thinking like an engineer as well as working like one was not lost on us. I'd have liked even more in-depth studies on computer science, but overall this was a worthwhile progr...

    Software Engineering Immersive

After spending time in San Fransisco around several software engineers at varying levels of experience I became interested in changing careers after having been a mechanic for most of my life. I will say it was a challenging experience but also a very rewarding one. The staff and support was above an beyond my expectations.
The point of the course is to teach you how to learn different coding languages and the basics of OOP(if you don't know what this is look it up for tw...

    Good Cohort

Overall, I had an awesome experience with GA. One instructor really went above and beyond to teach us a lot of information, my cohort was incredibly tight and worked with each other super closely. My outcomes was solid (the coach wasn't always the easiest to get a hold of and getting feedback isn't quick). However with that all said, it's hard for me to determine if I can recommend GA. Other cohorts didn't learn things we did, GA seems to have a lot of internal turnover which can impact ...

    Data Science Immersive London

Curriculum wise, don't get me wrong, the course and its content are very good, there is the main teacher and then 2 teaching assistants who support you through, although you might need a little warm-up MOOC course before but maybe not essential. You learn how to code, visualize data, multiple algorithms, and techniques, and at the end of the course, you do feel upskilled.

However,  I strongly advise you to check the Junior Data Scientist Jobs out there before enrolling and checkin...

    Not for everyone

I joined the 12 weeks of coding Bootcamp in 2020 at GA.
Overall, it was good and made a good connection with the people that I studied with. However looking back on it, I don't think I would go back again and pay over 12,000 for the course. The reason being a lot of content can be covered with online materials and I still don't think it was worth it. This is just my personal thought. My class was full time so everyone had left their job to enroll in the course, with that being said a...

Data Science Immersive gave me the career change I was looking for

General Assembly gave me the tools and confidence to make a career change and I would never be where I am two years later had I not been through the DSI Bootcamp. It is important to know how your previous background and the boot camp can work together to make you a strong candidate. There will be MUCH to learn after the boot camp, but the GA program gives you what you need to start that journey and I would recommend it!

    The People Make the Difference

The ultimate difference between design bootcamps is the teaching. I had remarkable instructors at General Assembly.  They offered general insight into the industry at large as well as taught the necessary skillsets within it.  I was able to wrap my head around expectations in the industry, design philosophy, approach, and practice using the skillsets I use daily. They also gave us fantastic templates and insights that offered a better command of an anxiety-provoking job search -  all of ...

    UX Design Immersive

General Assembly was instrumental in allowing me to level up my career in tech into the UX Design field that is challenging, engaging, and always growing. During the program I gained highly applicable skills as well as learned freshly updated content that gets vetted by the best thought leaders in the field from the biggest company names in tech. I now hold a leadership position in UX Design (I came into the program with management experience) and another colleague of mine who also atten...

Take Charge of Your Career Direction

GA gave me the tools and self confidence to transform my life. In my late 20s I felt trapped, alone and confused, in a job and career path that I disliked. Going back to college for another 2 to 4 years and a different undegrad degree just to start back at the bottom was not an option. I joined GA after being severanced out of a position I spent 4 years in,. My amazing instructor not only gave me the practical skills to get into a new, in-demand field, but also taught me that with curios...

Good Experience, Just Not For Me

I was a little disappointed on day one when I learned that it was a connected-classroom setting which means four different classes of 20 or so students are connected through Zoom for one instructor. That detail was probably mentioned during the initial description of the course, but it definitely wasn't clear since it came as a complete shock. I never felt like I received the personal assistance I need to learn, so it wasn't the best fit for me. I learned a lot, but never felt comfortabl...

    GA was a life-changing experience

GA was a life-changing experience for me. I took the UX Design immersive and because of the instructors I had (JC & Samantha Lane) and wonderful cohort, I can say it was worth the sacrifice and money. I learned a lot under the direction of the two instructors, they kept the curriculum organized, efficient, provided endless resources, and did a great job with making the information interactive. You spend the morning in lecture, and rest of the day getting hands-on experience with proj...
