I was a bit nervous at first. I'm older, feeling stuck in my current position, out of touch with my Master's in UX due to being a traveling spouse, and was really at an all time low when I signed up. I wasn't confident. My output quality was suffering due to my position at the time where I felt I was actually unskilling myself. The course wasn't easy and I had a lot of challenges, but the instructors and mentors were amazing. They followed up, they gave very helpful advice, they were patient, knowledgable, insightful, and truly grew a strong community of women within the course. I am so thankful I signed up for this bootcamp and I know it will make a huge difference in my future. I would recommend this course and All Women Tech for any level of student. I would recommend you take full advantage of the teaching assistants and your time in the class, and build the network with your cohort. It will be invaluable for the future.BeTek

From a top level perspective, it checked off a lot of the boxes I was looking for: fully remote learning environment with the flexibility to work at my own pace (and either full-time or part-time), continual mentorship and support from the staff both during and after the program, and insanely good value when comparing their price to the average cost of a coding bootcamp.
The curriculum was very well structured with a natural progression of concepts. The first half focused on the Front End - We started with a review of JavaScript fundamentals and CSS/HTML before moving on to DOM manipulation, working with APIs, and then diving into the React framework. In the second half of the course, we transitioned to the Back End, learning how to build our own web servers and databases with Node, Express and MongoDB before putting everything together and developing Full Stack applications. At the end of each week, we were assigned a mini-project that covered what we had just learned. These were very challenging, but always engaging and I really felt like I was building something practical while working on them.
Despite the bootcamp being fully remote, I still had great opportunities to collaborate with other students. In the middle of the course, we had a week-long paired programming hackathon, and towards the end, the entire cohort worked together on a group project simulating an Agile-style sprint in which we were tasked to develop a functioning Full Stack application in 2 weeks. I'd say this experience along with our independent final project was probably where I learned and grew the most. Everything really came together here: putting all the coding skills I'd been honing to use, working/communicating in a group setting (and dealing with the unique challenges this can present), planning out design and structure at a larger scale, using Git flow effectively, and presenting an app as if demoing to a client. These projects were easily my favorite part of the program.
On top of that, I received a ton of support from Parsity in the job search after graduating. First of all, we had dedicated time spent solely on career development, including refining our resumes and LinkedIn profiles, writing effective cover letters, networking, and preparing for the interview process. I also had access to a fantastic Career Services Coach that met with me frequently and was always available when I reached out. I got a ton of helpful advice that was tailored to my own particular job search, as well as mock interviews structured for the specific companies I was focused on. The assistance I received after graduating was invaluable, and ultimately played a huge role in me landing my first developer job.
All in all, if you're interested in programming and want to shift your career trajectory, I highly recommend Parsity. I never would have believed a year ago that I could learn so much in such a short timeframe and actually get hired as a programmer. But it's true - coding bootcamps are a totally viable pathway and Parsity is a great one with great value. Enrolling was one of the best decisions I've ever made.- 30Reviews3CoursesUConn Boot Camps offer part-time, 24-week, web development and cybersecurity courses. I had been teaching myself through FreeCodeCamp, Udemy courses, and just reading and trying stuff on my own. While these methods gave me a decent foundation, I was having trouble understanding concepts and didn't really have any direction of what to build or do. I was also skeptical of signing up because it's a lot of money to spend if the program doesn't end up working out. In short, I wish I had enrolled in this bootcamp sooner. My instructor, Michael, (and in his absence Ross) were incredible at teaching us and helping us learn complicated topics. My TAs were wonderful as well. Nathan and Chris were always willing to meet early/stay late with us to help us with any homework or projects we were struggling with. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this bootcamp or the people who work it. While EXTREMELY fast paced, I feel I learned an incredible amount and it was worth every penny. - 30Reviews2CoursesAssembler Institute of Technology offers a 28-week, full-time Master in Software Development and a 24-week, online, full-time Master in Data Science. My personal experience with QuickStart hasn't been a short one because occasionally staff and recruiters will still check up on me (that's impressive because it's been 2 years since I graduated).
Curriculum: Jam packed curriculum that does contain everything you'll need for tests/exams. Not sure about you, but I'd rather have a boot camp that over informs me on the topic I'm preparing for.
Instructors: I think my instructor's name was Bill. Phenomenal at what he does and an industry expert. So he gave us a heads up on when to look at certain topics and differentiate between an academia standpoint and then how it's done in practice throughout the industry.
Job Assistance: I actually got my job halfway through the course before they officially started helping. I could put N/A for this portion but I put these projects from the boot camp in my resume and know I only got the position due to having taken this boot camp. It made finishing the course harder with a new job, but I did finish things out.
Overall Experience: Typically the overall experience is an average of all other metrics and so this would naturally be a 5 star. I had some worries about how I'd pay for all this and chose one payment type, but that ended up being rough for my situation. QuickStart was actually willing to help me change back my payment method/plan to the one I should have done from the get go though so bonus points and kudos to them for being flexible. Note: I did not convince them to help me by yelling at them or acting like they owed it to me.
Lastly, if you ever get to speak to Gwen, one of the recruiters, or Bill/William, one of the instructors, they are very valuable connections to have.- 30Reviews5CoursesDigital Career Institute (DCI) is a 12-month long coding bootcamp based in Germany with campuses in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Leipzig. I first learned about SDG while searching for coding schools in FI'm a former firefighter turned small business owner that had zero tech experience before SDG. I first learned about SDG while searching for coding schools in Florida. They were offering a test drive class at the time so I decided that would be a good place to start and see if coding was for me. Well, that class left me wanting more and I fell in love with the staff so I knew I would be attending their academy.
The academy is tough. I commuted to school every day which made the long hours even longer. But it was worth it. Mark was my instructor and he was amazing. He could take all the technical jargon and turn it into English and then break down all the steps and pieces for us. The projects start off easy and get harder the further along you get in the course. By the end of the course, you can deploy an app or website from scratch. The academic part of the academy really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I am so grateful. After my graduation the pandemic caused the world to go into shutdown but I was able to take on freelance projects successfully because of the skills I learned from SDG.
There is also a soft skills/career prep section in this academy. I came into this with a lot of soft skills so that information wasn't new to me but I could see how valuable it was to some of the younger dev students that haven't had as much work experience.
The career prep is focused on this industry and for the Tampa area. That was so valuable to me. I haven't been in the area long so I didn't have a network for the job search. Well with SDG you get to use their network and they have made great connections all over The Greater Tampa Bay. This network was key in helping me find my job.
During the career prep, they help you with your resume, LinkedIn, interview prep both the conversational part and the technical interview.
You get tons of help and support after graduation in finding a job. I was amazed at how SDG lived up to its promise to help you in this area.
I'm now working for my dream company doing my dream job. I am still pinching myself how everything worked out. I'm not going to lie it is hard but it is worth it because it is life-changing. Code Chrysalis

I was chosen for this programme after six rounds of evaluation.
Initially, I assumed that this would be like traditional classroom learning, with PPTs and all, but I was wrong. We gained experience through doing. It was a two-month training session. We learned about Java and Git for the first two weeks by performing little coding assignments.
Following that, Bootcamp projects began, with a project every week in which the prograd mentors acted as real clients for us and gave us the criteria. Prograd mentors were always available to inspire us and answer our difficulties throughout the process.
In addition to this, every week there were organized tech-talks and Pecha Kucha. We trainees were given presentations on any technical topic during tech-talks. In Pecha Kucha, we discussed various societal issues that exist in India. This discourse gave me a lot of confidence in my ability to speak. They also took weekly soft skill training, which helped me enhance my communication and personality.
Based on my personal experience, I can confidently state that enrolling in this programme was the best decision I ever made, and I am grateful to Prograd for providing me with this opportunity.- 28Reviews4CoursesTechtorial Academy is a bootcamp based in Chicago that offers live online or in-person, full-time bootcamps covering topics like software design/development ... Last year this time my coding skills were near to zero and now I am starting a full time job as a developer. I am so happy I discovered Technigo and this courseLast year this time my coding skills were near to zero and now I am starting a full time job as a developer. I am so happy I discovered Technigo and this course put me in a place I see myself building my professional career and just becoming better and better within web development!
To start off, I really liked the format of the course and the positive vibes built around it. I liked how 'colorful and smiley' it was, it was important to me to get to a school that is not too numb, boring, traditional and 'old-school' as it's not for me. At the same time I feel like I learnt a looooot of serious and practical stuff with Technigo.
Some things I liked:
- course is clearly divided into weeks and sprints. Each week you work on one project which you can put to your portfolio. Each project focuses on one particular tech stuff but you're free to modify it as you wish. You have access to coaches via slack/stack overflow from Monday to Friday.
- professional set up. Access to the study platforms, useful links, being part of the community and having access to Slack.
- Technigo organises so many cool events for networking and just for having fun (last year they hosted Figma Config Stockholm party)
- Also, for students in Sweden, Technigo organises coffee meetings at different companies for networking. I think some of these events were online, so people from other locations could also join. That was really amazing to visit offices and talk with the members of the tech teams.
- Technigo offers a great Coaching Programme where we learn about LinkedIn, presentation techniques and how to get into the industry!
- Being in a small group with other classmates, working closely with them and independently. Having the classmates to support each other and of course to complain a little bit ;)
My study time at Technigo was from January to June 2023. In November 2023 I got an internship as a developer and now in January 2024 I got a full time job (different place than my internship) [so probably would have got it even without doing the internship].
As I was working full time (office job) during my bootcamp, it was quite challenging to be a perfect student. However, I decided that "it's better to be the worst one among the best ones, instead of not knowing anything". I felt like I needed to go back to the most of things after the Bootcamp. Which I did, and I now I feel confident about my skills within these topics. I also believe that topics that Technigo's bootcamp covers are definitely enough to get a job as a developer.
Just everyone applying should remember that even the best school will not guarantee you become a good coder. You have to code a lot on your own to achieve great results. But Technigo was a great way to start coding, get routines and learn about tools, and to get excited about coding. I think it was definitely worth the money, the time and even some stress I encountered during that time.
If I met myself in November 2022 (when I came across the bootcamp first) I would enrol myself again and maaaaybe just asked at my work place about possibility to work 85% instead of 100% ;) as that was really hardcore to work 40h and and then study 25h a week.CodeOp

I interviewed with both (the application process was a bit different) and got accepted into both, so the time for me to choose arrived. Curriculum-wise, I had previously heard of JavaScript and had started its introduction course on Codecademy, but I had barely heard of Ruby (the computational language taught in the other bootcamp), so I was already more inclined to choose CodeOp. However, this was not the main reason why I decided to join them.
Firstly, I was in contact with alumni from both bootcamps: everyone who graduated from CodeOp was someone I would like to work with, super nice, and explained everything in great detail; also, I could see myself being like them, and there was a diverse representation. I also felt the sense of community I would later be a part of. At some point, I connected on LinkedIn with an old alumna from CodeOp who completed the bootcamp online from the other side of the world; when I thanked her for reposting my first project, she said (and I quote): "I try to help out as much as I can with exposure for the students at CodeOp within my international network. I've been there and want to give back to the community that got me to where I am now. It's a beautiful community, and I'm so happy to hear they continue to nurture this type of environment for people who are trying to switch careers."
The experience with people from the other bootcamp was not as pleasant; they were mostly all men (so it was hard for me to see myself represented), and I felt mansplained at some points. Also, even they were telling me I should find a bootcamp that teaches JavaScript instead of Ruby. I was about to make a huge financial effort, and that was the point at which I decided on the community I wanted to be a part of and the language I wanted to learn.
During my first days in the bootcamp, I realized I had made the right decision for me. I learned so much in such a short amount of time, and I think this is also thanks to being in such a supportive and safe environment. I got to spend every day with people who have gone through similar situations to the ones I've experienced, people who understood me. And I'm not only talking about my cohort, but also the instructors, employees, and CodeOp's CEO, Katrina. I also experienced significant personal and professional growth; I honestly feel like a different Maria from the one who started the bootcamp on July 3rd.
I can only encourage you to choose CodeOp if you're considering entering the tech field. You will not regret it.
