HyperionDev, a disappointing experience
I started the HyperionDev program for full-stack web development on October 5th after some calls with the admissions rep and then someone from the career support department since I had a lot of concerns given web development would mean a career switch for me. They assured me that career support was guaranteed and that they had a placement rate of over 93%. The program will give you the basics of the MERN stack and although they sometimes state a certain subject will be covere...I started the HyperionDev program for full-stack web development on October 5th after some calls with the admissions rep and then someone from the career support department since I had a lot of concerns given web development would mean a career switch for me. They assured me that career support was guaranteed and that they had a placement rate of over 93%. The program will give you the basics of the MERN stack and although they sometimes state a certain subject will be covered in more detail in another section it sometimes isn't (they did some changes to the last section by the time I got there, so there seems it may be an issue with them updating their instructional pdfs). On a positive note, some of the lessons are quite challenging and will require additional research which enhances comprehension. I only had one mentor throughout the whole program and I ended up with mixed feelings, although he was helpful to overcome some hurdles there were other times where he simply stated he would investigate some more but never did (so those issues were left pending). I finished the program since March 2020 and started asking questions about career support and the next steps only to receive no replies as of April 14th. I emailed them five times to different people (one of those times they said it was due to a change in personnel, but I also didn't get a reply from the other person). On a last note, they project themselves as being international but their career support and writings seem directed only to South Africans, which would explain why once I finished they simply cut all support (aside from the lack of support post-graduation and no replies, I didn't get a mock interview or a portfolio review by their career support team like some of their last lessons state). PROS: Structured program that gives good starting points for additional research and helpful for those self-taught students that have a hard time knowing what to learn next. Mentors can assist with basic issues that new developers may stumble upon. CONS: Absolutely no career support, so if you're switching careers or thinking this bootcamp will help with employment avoid it. Mentorship feels strong in the early lessons but in more complex subjects there may be times when he doesn't know the answer and will be unable to provide it or he doesn't provide recommendations to improve the code complexity in his review. They take two weeks off during the holidays (which they don't make up for), so for those that take the program during the holidays they end up having two weeks less of support.

HyperionDev: Data Science Bootcamp
I love how well structured this bootcamp is. I thought that I would be thrown in the deep end by not knowing anything about coding or data science but upon starting this bootcamp I saw how easy HyperionDev makes it for you to learn by providing you with sufficient course materials as well as videos which really helps. Tough but totally worth it!
I came into the course with no coding experience whatsoever, and after 6 months I feel fairly confident in my basic coding skills, my ability to learn new languages, and my ability to break down and solve problems. There's obviously much more to learn, but I wouldn't have been able to get where I am now on my own. Be warned however: this bootcamp is not easy, especially for total newbies like myself. It is my first time doing online coding course and it is a great experience for me, and also the python code is a powerful language to learn. I have gained a lot in python, I learned that before writing my python code I can have my pseudo code first. I did scratch (kids coding) and also html before. The Hyperion course is good and enjoyable. Having a mentor and having a webinar help and make the course easy, but if we can have more of the webinars I think it will be more easy and enjoyable...

Python is a good language to learn, it is a code written in simple English, anyone can read the code. Sometimes I find it difficult to understand what the question is asking because high level of English is used. English is my second language. Maybe if simple English is used, anyone can simple understand what is expected. Hyperion is offering a good and powerful course that anyone can master, Doing Hyperion course you can become a great coder.

Completing my Software Engineering bootcamp
I am completing my Software Engineering bootcamp on HyperionDev as a part-time student.
The curriculum is very apt for the industry and up to date with current practices.
As a student with 3 years of programming experience, i found the early content very basic and suitable for newbies. However, the tasks in the later stages did challenge my skills and i learned new and interesting concepts.
I am especially grateful to the mentors, who i contacted remotely, that were patient ...I am completing my Software Engineering bootcamp on HyperionDev as a part-time student.
The curriculum is very apt for the industry and up to date with current practices.
As a student with 3 years of programming experience, i found the early content very basic and suitable for newbies. However, the tasks in the later stages did challenge my skills and i learned new and interesting concepts.
I am especially grateful to the mentors, who i contacted remotely, that were patient and helpful through my struggles. I also appreciated the time taken to mark my tasks and the valuable feedback i received.

So, I completed the "University of Edinburgh Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp" and finished with the "top ranking" in my cohort.
The TL;DR is: Look elsewhere. I don't recommend this bootcamp at all. The materials are no better (mostly worse) than free resources, and their "employer partners" are nonexistent. I can see why the University of Edinburgh had virtually nothing to do with this.

For context, this course is split into two parts: the 3-month bootcamp and a subsequent 3-month "graduate scheme."
For the bootcamp:
As many here have already mentioned, the learning boils down to a bunch of PDFs. Each one has a task to complete. Considering this is an expensive course (I paid £7500 back in March), and being a company of Web Developers and Software Engineers, you'd think they'd put together something smarter than PDFs in a Dropbox. But, here we are—a sign of the quality to expect. In the early parts of the course, there's an accompanying video for each task to explain each topic. These were actually quite good, but as you progress deeper into the bootcamp and the topics get more complex, there are fewer videos, and their quality diminishes. It's no surprise, as many have noted, that they struggle to complete the bootcamp on time. I found that by the last third of the bootcamp, the materials were virtually useless. I relied on YouTube and W3Schools to learn how to complete the tasks. Having paid this amount of money to end up using free resources didn't feel right. All the course materials direct you to join the Discord for support, which I couldn't access since they'd shut it down. (I only learned recently from other reviews that it was because they couldn't manage the influx of complaints from students). I managed to finish the bootcamp on time, but only just, and worked long hours to do so. As I mentioned earlier, I finished rank 1 in my course of supposedly 100+ people. However, on the "weekly leaderboard," I only ever saw three other people making any progress.
Regardless, I thought maybe the value lies in the graduate scheme and access to Hyperion's "employer partners."
For the graduate scheme:
The tasks here were all career-related: polish up your CV, update your LinkedIn/GitHub, complete a technical interview, etc. The guidance was useful and accurate, but hardly seemed worth the price I'd paid. For comparison, PurpleCV's most expensive package is only £215 and they'd do all of that for you. I completed all tasks with 100% feedback and joined the graduate Discord group, unsurprisingly, it's basically dead with fewer than 300 members (including staff). Anecdotally, browsing through LinkedIn, I've seen others posting about finishing their courses and ranking high in their cohorts out of 100-600 people per cohort. I've counted up to about 3,000 people in total, so I'd estimate that less than 10% actually graduate from a HyperionDev bootcamp. Given my accomplishments, I thought I'd be a prime candidate for their employer partners. Yet, it's been three months with no news. They've mentioned a slowdown in tech and the summer quietness as reasons. Their advice? Apply for jobs and contact recruiters (amazing advice?! it's not like I was already doing that). I have recently found work as a web developer, but not through HyperionDev.
In conclusion, look elsewhere. There are much cheaper bootcamps offering accreditations, and free resources are somehow better than what HyperionDev provides. The career support is basic at best. If you need help with your CV/LinkedIn, there are many services ranging from £50-£200+ that can enhance your profile and "findability" for recruiter algorithms. The touted "employer partners" is a sham. I have no idea about the connection with the University of Edinburgh; it seems they were only leveraging the university's name for marketing purposes. (PS. I've noticed this has now changed to ICL, and I doubt they're affiliated with HyperionDev in any meaningful way either). I'm have no idea about the source of the positive reviews; some don't even make sense. I'd advise caution when reading them since I have not had even close to the same experience.

Challenging, encouraging and supportive
My experience with HyperionDev's Web development boot camp was great! I was able to learn many new things thanks to the in-depth course content as well as the helpful and motivating mentors at HyperionDev. Great support and mentors
The HyperionDev Data Science Bootcamp is quite an intense and immersive Bootcamp. The support team, especially Tevin, are great and very responsive. My mentor Nizaam is especially knowledgable in the field and has a very unique and interactive manner to teach you how to solve data projects on your own by invoking thought and setting your mindset to that of a programmer. The boot camp is professional, easy to understand tasks given to you, even provide you with 75% of content you will need to complete your tasks the rest I had to research, easy access to reach HyperionDev support, a phone call away, get back to you in time , they have good communication skills and are understanding and willing to help you with whatever you need regarding the Bootcamp and the course you chose.
With Booking calls for one-on-one sessions, you get at least 30,45 min to explain to your mentor what you struggling with so they can help you and make you understand visually with zoom meeting.
The boot camp could improve with the flow of one-on-one sessions, because sometimes you can be stuck and to got to the next task you going to have to finish the previous task and the mentor by then isn't available for at least 4 days. That sets you back, even improve on previews so if there are any adjustments one can solve them in time and also be on time due to the duration of the boot camp.
More content is needed with visual videos for more understanding and clarity.
