I found this bootcamp to be easily accessible as the course content was uploaded onto a cloud and my tasks were submitted the same way. I appreciated the structure of the course as the course content flowed and enough time was given in between each task to accommodate my doing it part time (though I did fall behind due to work pressures). I also appreciated the comprehensive feedback given on my task submissions, it confirmed what I understood about a specific topic and provided areas I could improve on. My only frustration was one of my tasks taking more than the suggested days to review and subsequently re-review. The content of the course was a bit challenging , but with the assistance of the lecturers and mentors everything become more feasible. Throughout the duration of the course all the lectures were professional and thought provoking but due to the exceptional teaching skills of the mentors and lecturers everything was managed precisely. There's not much I would say need to be adjusted to make the course better besides the reviews coming back in time for the students but since there are many student and most studying remotely it is understandable as to why at times it may take 3-4 days to receive your feed back. A timetable for for exactly the classes and when they will be conducted would be very convenient but since students don't all learn at the same pace is great and it embraces individuality but at the same time does not allow students to work amongst each other as one is working on something than the other which serves as a pro and con simultaneously. The one specification that i have to mention is the attention each student receives is beyond measure which allows student to grasp information rapidly and feasibly.    Read less

The bootcamp offers a lot of great positive qualities, which benefit the students and enhance their experience and learning. The explanation of concepts are done in a clear and simple manner so that the student can understand how everything works and apply their knowledge so solve problems. In addition, the bootcamp offers students, extra helpful sessions in addition to its theory and practical sessions. Such as open classes where the instructor can answer any queries or points which students are stuck on and perform a live demonstration and break down how a particular part of the code works and solve any queries. The additional hours and support enhance the learning experience as well as the other bonuses, such as career support. Furthermore, the student support team are incredible and always willing to help and support their students in any academic hurdles they may face, by offering 1-1 mentor sessions, and offering appointments for any queries related to the bootcamp. My experience has been great, and my mentor Rosco McKinnon, has helped and support me greatly in overcoming any hurdles on my bootcamp journey, thank you very much for your support. Read less

The greatest takeaway for myself is the availability of mentors to aid or guide students in directions that allow us to reach desired goals when working on tasks, as being a beginner, some things do become overwhelming. 

For me, where HyperionDev does well, is the speedy availability of support staff ready to attend to and help solve whichever issue you may have. 

There are some minor technicalities that need improvement, but do equate to deal-breakers of one's experience.

This is actually my second bootcamp course with Hyperiondev - the first one was a shorter course and more of me testing the waters. I was happy the first time around and my love for tech grew so much that I enrolled again just to get more skills and more confidence. Before I started my course with HyperionDev I was looking around, and trying to find the best one that fits my needs and is applicable to the country I live in. There are many bootcamps out there, but most bootcamps that are located in the US or even some in the UK couldn't really help me with what I wanted in a career in tech. When I started my Software Engineering course with HyperionDev I had no clue how to code or how it works, while I was busy completing the course I tried to learn as much as possible and showcase my skills as often as I could. This helped me get a job as an intern software developer before I even completed my course. The help and support I received was truly amazing and they made mentor appointments very easy to schedule. I am a student of the HyperionDev online bootcamp in Python and Data Science. 
The course itself is well-structured and the material is delivered in a concise but easy-to-understand manner. The Material is not at all "a mile wide and an inch deep", Instead I found the course to really dive into the fundamentals and even more complex issues of Data Science. 
Where the course really shines, however, is with the teaching and support teams. Queries to support are handled almost immediately and the team has a customer-first mindset that really shines through. The academic team is quick to mark assignments and provide you with a well-written and in-depth explanation of where you might improve. I started my HyperionDev immersive Full Stack Developer bootcamp experience in March 2023. Along the way it has been extremely demanding of my time with many late nights not to mention the high number of resubmissions as tasks were challenging but I've managed to progress and now I am at the end of my experience. It's tough but i highly recommend aspiring Techies who are up for the challenge . As an online student, the experience can feel lonely but dedicated coding mentors are just a video call away. When I started out, I wanted to start my software company as I had just learned Javascript. i went on to read a book called "The Full Stack Developer_ Your Essential Guide to the Everyday Skills Expected of a Modern Full Stack Web Developer".  That gave me immense high level knowledge about software development but i had holes in my knowledge base. I started the Hyperion Data Science Bootcamp around July 2023.
The course started off simply but started to get really tough when you get the next levels (There are 3 of them).
I'm doing the online bootcamp so I'm doing this remotely just so you know.

What I like about the bootcamp:

• At the beginning, the support staff used to call me to check how I was doing every week, so I felt reassured about the bootcamp.
• They will send you an email if you fall off to check if all is okay.
• The feedback on the task. This is what I really like the most about the bootcamp because your are told first what you did right, what you can improve and given some resources to further your skills.
• The available mentor calls. You can schedule a video call with your mentor, you have a limited number, 8 I think per month, to converse with a mentor if you are struggling. This is very important especially when you are confused as to why things are not working.
• Extra lectures. Besides the study material, there are scheduled lectures to go over the material and even ask questions. If you are a student, its good to be among other students in the video lecture hearing other ask questions and knowing you are not alone in your challenges.

What I think can be improved:

• Although you do have tons of materials, support and extra lecturers, I felt that from Level 2, the material jumps from easily consumable to very difficult. In my opinion, this ramp up is too fast because too many complex material is thrust upon you and I found myself falling behind trying to find resources to explain the basics first of that task, then being able to understand what the task required, and then doing the task.
• Level 1 should be shortened and greater time be given to the next levels. As I said in the first point, the first level's material is not that complicated, (maybe that's just me), the next levels are really next level and need more tasks and more examples so you can get it and be better equipped. For example, more examples and lessons on how to make your presentations tell the story, not just to create the graphs and explain what they represent and how to get the story across.
• More engagement on the discord from the lecturers/mentors. I know that usually this a forum to foster student engagement with each other but an appearance from a mentor or lecturer would be of benefit to drive student participation and engage more. I did not feel their presence in the forum but I think their knowledge would have really helped is some of the questions especially queries on the school processes.

Would I recommend the bootcamp? Absolutely. The thing is, when learning about development, or being a data scientists, the onus is on you to do the work if you really want to be good at it. As others know, you have to deal with a lot of frustrations. The bootcamp should not really hold your hand but they do at the beginning and then let you do  things by yourself with support always at hand. Then they give you a framework so that you know what to do next. Then they give you the right tasks to build your foundation step by step and give you feedback along the way which is reassuring and keeps you on the right track. There are other things they provide you as well which only requires  your engagement but this post is way too long already. 

If you can afford it, this bootcamp should be on your top list.  Read less

I have had an amazing journey with HyperionDev, learning all sorts of new skills and practices. Making use of a one on one approach with the mentorship sessions was an incredible idea, because students can address specific issues with the task and feel addressed personally.

I would like to say there are no faults, but the ones at HyperionDev did not interrupt my learning experience for the most part. A frequent problem I was having was due to lack of communication or support via the query system. It does not feel as if my issues are taken seriously or when help is required there was simply no response until I had used a limited mentor session or I searched for other sources to find a solution.

I believe the first month check-in should be applied to the whole course for non-code-related queries or questions. This will improve the time it takes for responses to admin related queries faster. Read less

I just finished the Hyperion Development (HyperionDev) software engineering bootcamp, and I have to say it was a really fun and educational experience. I had the chance to delve into the realm of software engineering during the course of the programme, and it far surpassed my expectations.

I genuinely had a great time at HyperionDev. I was made feel welcome and important. This was  also my first online learning experience and they made adjusting to it feel easy and natural. Their course is broken down into four levels, making learning with them really easy but still challenging enough to  make one want to learn more  and grow one's skills as you work through each task. Very few times though there would be task that is a little to hard and vague to complete yourself but worry not because your mentors and code reviewers are there to help. They don't solve your problems for you but instead teach you how to solve them yourself. The mentors I was lucky enough to meet were always extremely kind and patient with me, constantly pointing me in the right direction whenever I felt like I was stuck. Something I wasn't a big fan of was how little the interactions with other students were, this could have just been my group though. Nonetheless I'm hoping this is something they work on in the future especially when being teaching how to work collaborately with others. In the beginning I felt like what I was learning wasn't going to lead me anywhere but now that i'm at the end i'm extremely happy to have been with them because now I feel as confident as ever about starting a career in this industry. As a beginner in Software Engineering, I have had an amazing experience with HyperionDev. The learning experience is different as they enable you to fully understand what you are learning through quality videos and the lecture notes on the Dropbox make it even easier to understand as they guide you through the steps and make you understand in order for you to be able to tackle the assignment questions that follow.
