For the last 3 years I felt like making a change in my career. Than I came across Hyperiondev and started reading up on the tech sector. I enrolled for the free trial and from that moment I started to learn coding. One of the support staff called me and took me through the entire process of what the onsite bootcamp covers.  At first it was quite overwhelming but as I started to learn the basics I got more confident in coding.  The advantage I had was onsite I could ask the lecturer questions when ever I got stuck.  After reading a World Economic Forum Report on the future of jobs, I realized that the world is changing extremely rapidly towards the 4th industrial revolution and technological automation.  I had an insight that you either stay the same or one can adapt to the inevitable change that is on the horizon. I completed LEVEL 1 of the Software Engineering Bootcamp and absolutely loved the overall experience being onsite. The instructor was extremely knowledgable and very helpful and the way the course was laid out was well structured with an in-depth curriculum. I decided to switch over to Web Development half way through the course, not because I wasn’t enjoying it, I just thought that Web Dev is better suited for me. This has been a journey of absorbing relatable information and skills. The HyperionDev Data Science Bootcamp has been a great learning platform for statistical knowledge, data exploration, AI and machine learning combined.  I would recommend the Bootcamp to anyone who wants to get into the tech space and/or improve their career positioning. I wanted to solve real life problems, grow and experience many different industries with Tech evolving and the world adapting. I ventured into Technology from teaching and join onsite Software engineering bootcamp at Hyperion development.The mentors have a very positive feedback on the task reviews and are always there to assist with coding if there are any challenges. They are really great and helpful.  The Lecturer delivers content of such high calibre which makes one ready for an industry and he adapts to the student's needs with passion.  As a beginner in coding I have had the best experience and journey through Hyperion development. You can see in the way they engage with you and the support they give to succeed. . I was fortunate with a great mentor. I do not think all the mentors are as great, so you will have to be lucky. He was sharp, fast and two steps ahead. It helps when you are eager and trying to learn. Teaches you the mindset of code as well as the code. . The system is smooth. I came into the course with no coding experience whatsoever, and after 6 months I feel fairly confident in my basic coding skills, my ability to learn new languages, and my ability to break down and solve problems. There's obviously much more to learn, but I wouldn't have been able to get where I am now on my own. Be warned however: this bootcamp is not easy, especially for total newbies like myself. You will have to commit, put in the hours, and do your own research to successfully complete the program. Be especially aware of this if you are also working a full time job. In the end though, all the hard work is totally worth it, and you get to cover a lot of ground in a short space of time. The onboarding and support staff are really friendly and helpful, and the mentors are invaluable, although the only negative I experienced was sometimes waiting too long for mentors to reply (or even getting no reply).  I am currently a full-time, onsite Web Development student at HyperionDev. So far I have had a very good but also very challenging experience, coding is hard and there is no way getting around that but they have designed the course so that you keep building on what you have been learning. I am really glad I chose to do the course onsite because it’s a very nice environment - the other students are great, you can ask other students further along in the course for help & you have direct access to either the main lecturer and junior lecturer. And I also have access to an online mentor which I can make appointments with if needed. I am in my 30s and a midlife career change is a big risk to take, I chose HyperionDev onsite to make the transition as easy as possible and have access to all possible resources that might help me along the way. It’s a very rewarding experience once your code works and when you actually realise that you can call yourself a coder. But you really do learn the meaning of the word perseverance, because it is tough. The course is structured in a very logical and clear way and it is very easy to keep track of your progress, it is assignment based and there are no exams. It would be great if there were more examples to work through though but you are also encouraged to do your own research to find solutions. If you don’t have any coding experience then I think it is unrealistic to complete this course in 3 months, I wasn’t able to but managed to apply for an extension. Some advice I would give a new joiner is to keep working - if you have completed the task for the day but still have it in you to continue, then keep going and read ahead and start doing the tasks yourself because it will help you to not fall behind. I am not sure how good the job assistance is after graduation as I have not yet graduated but they do teach you how to build an online brand for yourself.

So far I've had a great experience, they are on top of things and very professional. I even had the admission consultant PamelaJ respond to my emails in the late evenings and call me outside of her working hours just to assist me, and everyone I know that goes to a higher institution knows that the admissions department isn't always the best part of their experience. There are many platforms they provide to get assistance and also you have many mentors that are available to assist besides your assigned mentor if he/they/she is not available. They also have a user-friendly online platform, nothing annoys me like a higher institution that has a Windows 3 looking format, visuals, unfortunately, do matter to me.  Most importantly, the content is well structured and builds up well for the next topic, they provide you with additional resources and some videos to help introduce you to the work you will be doing, along with some spot questions with answers to help you grasp the core outcomes of the lesson, which you can choose to do and does not count towards the tasks that need to be submitted. The free trial course they provide gives an advantage when you start with the course because as a beginner you really have no clue and helps you ease into the actual course without feeling overwhelmed. HyperionDev, in my experience, has been a great institution to learn how to code. I recently started my software engineering bootcamp, 05 February 2021, and the results have been great. In just this short amount of time, I have gone from being a complete beginner to being able to code a basic financial calculator. - and that is just the tip of the iceberg!

My mentor, Njabulo Phiri, really came through for me when I had some difficulties with a particular task. He went as far as giving me educational content that is not directly linked to the bootcamp. However, that content can be used to gain insights behind the history of coding. 

The slides are comprehensive and easy to read. I also enjoy the flexibility I have of being able to study the content offline. The staff are really helpful, and generally contact you back if you weren't able to get a hold of a particular individual.
