I started a new role as a data analyst and this class was a nice refresher on advanced excel and a great introduction to the basics of SQL and Tableau. Our instructor Elana was so patient and kind and made sure she answered all of our questions. I loved that she used real use cases from her job at Roku to help us understand certain concepts. I enjoyed that it was in person and that it was once a week and only for a few months - it was very manageable. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick but in depth beginner class. I enrolled in the data analytics course to make my CV more well rounded having come from a humanities background at university. I have really enjoyed this course as an inviting and stimulating introduction to the world of data analytics. The course was insightful and learned about regressions. This course focused on Python only. I wish we also got to work with other languages and wish it was longer than 8 weeks. Felt like we only brushed over the more important topics like linear regression and classification because the class was only 8 weeks. Wish we spent more time on it. The instructors are very helpful and always willing to explain concepts further and answer questions. I just wish we divided into the more important topics further and had time to work on our project in class.  Read less

I had a positive experience with this course overall. The content was enriching and insightful, significantly enhancing my understanding of the subject matter. While some classes were content-heavy, the comprehensive final project successfully tied everything together, providing a cohesive overview of the course material. I’m in the marketing field but never hurts to get a refresher especially with the evolving trends and algorithm changes. I was given the opportunity to take this digital marketing course and I don’t regret it! It’s suitable for those really unfamiliar with the marketing basics but is still quite helpful for more seasoned marketers to hear from experienced professionals on what’s currently trending/working in the field. The instructors are kind of just going through the motions. My questions aren’t readily answered. It takes a while for them to get back to you -a week typically- and it is very rushed during the class itself. Even “learner support” is unresponsive. It’s very frustrating since the tuition isn’t just disposable income for me. I’m worried because I planned on taking the longer software e bootcamp with them too. I wish I went with a different coding school. I qualified for the Grace Hopper program too. It worries me about how loosely Brainstation actually means “help you land a coding job.” Feeling stressed and unsupported. Might have been better off taking the self pace ones and saved more cash. I wish they would even care enough to rectify this for me and help me prepare for a job in tech. Read less

I did the part time data science boot camp and I had a great experience with it. The professors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The content has a heavy emphasis on machine learning - once you get a handle on data analysis with SQL and Python, you dive into ML very thoroughly and spend much of the rest of the bootcamp on it. After, there is a relatively short unit on big data manipulation using services like AWS. That was very useful, however, it was very much an intro to AWS as opposed to a thorough course like the coverage of data analysis and ML. There was also a brief overview of bash/command line and git. They did a great job covering the essentials of the field in the 8-month program.  Read less

Recently, I completed a Digital Marketing course at BrainStation, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. The professor was truly exceptional. He not only displayed in-depth knowledge and expertise in the subject matter but also fostered an environment ripe for class participation. There were moments in the course where certain concepts were challenging for some of us, but the patience and thoroughness with which he explained ensured that no one was left behind. His commitment to our understanding truly stood out.

If there were one aspect I'd suggest for improvement, it would be to allow students to work on their final presentations during class time. While the project was primarily expected to be completed from home, having some dedicated in-class time would promote a more collaborative environment and ensure that tasks align closely with the project's expectations.

Nevertheless, I highly recommend BrainStation to anyone seeking a comprehensive grasp of digital marketing. The value of having such a dedicated professor leading the way is immeasurable Read less

This digital marketing bootcamp is the perfect overview of all things in the field. As someone new to the digital marketing sphere, I feel well-equipped to dive in further. I would suggest really taking advantage of the instructors as a resource and taking the course seriously! I think this class is a good primer but would be improved by greater focus in labs v. instruction. The labs are rushed and difficult to gain practical knowledge in. I think in order to be proficient in any of these tools I would need to take another class that delved deeper into the tools. Maria was a great resource and very helpful and knowledgable.  Read less

The course was great! I learned a lot about SQL and tableau. However, I thought that we would do a lot more analysis and less excel formulas in the first little bit of the course. I think I would have benefited from learning a lot more on modeling of data, and interpreting data visually. It was very helpful though! Will look forward to any more courses that I take from BrainStation. I will definitely apply my knowledge in my future endeavors. Read less

BrainStation's UX Design Course was an awesome beginner class for those new to the field. The teacher have a variety of different perspective that bring inspiration, engagement, and forward-thinking to the field that help you to level up your thinking and work. Although this is a UX course versus a Bootcamp, I walked away with a full case-study as well as feeling prepared to build out a portfolio. The community at BrainStation is welcoming and supportive and really enjoyed this in-person course. Will definitely be recommending BrainStation to friends and colleagues! Read less

The UX boot camp was very insightful and hopefully provided a good preparation for work life. The teachers worked relentlessly and were very supportive most of the time. The teachers were also supported by a very knowledgable teacher assistant. The mission is to give you as much information as possible in 12 weeks and make you work in as many projects as possible to include in your portfolio. What it is not told you is that you are expected to dedicate yourself full time including the weekends, meaning you won't have much time for doing anything else in your life besides work. There are times with multiple deadlines or with very laborious ones that actually take longer than expected and you'll often feel frustrated and behind. You can book in 15 minutes, one to one slots with the teachers but I found this to be very insufficient and always in a rush. The premises of the school are not quite inspiring, bland white and with serious acoustic issues inside and outside the classrooms. The ergonomy of the classrooms is very bad - the whiteboards locations in the classrooms simply don't work being located on side walls with impossible visibility, the chairs are too big and clunky and there are plug batteries scattered all over the floor. One negative point is you are rushed to leave school at 6p.m as there are other courses and multiple events happening with the main purpose of market the school to prospective students, so if you want to work longer hours you have to go somewhere else. Beware of the marketing techniques of selling being in the middle of Shoreditch and of the tech community - this is totally irrelevant when you don't have time to do anything but work. The long awaited Demo Day when students are showing off their projects is unfortunately quite voided of hiring managers from companies. There are plenty of shady caracthers you are not really sure what they are there for. Showing off the project to people outside of the school community was however a good training experience. Overall, it's a great experience but not without flaws. Read less

Course Curriculum:
The program itself is very well-structured, with a clear connection between lectures. It starts from the basics and progresses seamlessly to advanced data science topics. The curriculum is also regularly updated to align with recent industry developments, such as the algorithms behind ChatGPT, among others. The materials provided, along with external links to further expand our knowledge, were valuable additions. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the course structure.


Faculties:
The educators are exceptionally friendly and approachable. They make a concerted effort to simplify complex concepts for better understanding. Despite the program's intensity, they consistently motivate us to stay on track toward our goals and provide continuous feedback throughout the bootcamp. Additionally, having a Teaching Assistant (TA) was a valuable resource for us to seek assistance with questions or any capstone-related inquiries.

Professional Development:
Finally, the career support team equipped us with numerous tips to excel during the job search process, from refining our resumes to developing essential communication skills for interviews. They also conducted workshops from time to time, allowing us to practice and improve these skills.

I recently completed the User Experience (UX) Bootcamp at BrainStation's Shoreditch Campus, and I had a great time learning and conversing with my peers and teachers. The experience was enlightening and enriched my understanding of UX design considerably.

First and foremost, the caliber of the instructors was outstanding. Their profound knowledge and evident passion for UX design made the learning experience exceptional. Their real-world insights and industry expertise added depth to the curriculum. Furthermore their feedbacks in 1 to 1 were quite helpful in improving my craft and motivated to push myself.

Furthermore, the collaborative aspect of the bootcamp (such as the sprints that we had to undertake) was invaluable. Collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds fostered a multifaceted approach to problem-solving and encouraged creative thinking. Read less
