The more you put into this program, the more you will get out of it. Support is available for questions of all types - from fundamentals to more advanced CS topics. There is a diverse student body that is eager to learn and support one another, and peer-based project reviews help students both learn to take constructive criticism and to digest and comment intelligently on someone else's code. The connections with numerous companies (in the Bay Area and across the globe) help students to open doors and find meaningful employment, and as the program progresses there is a good amount of interview prep which is very practical. I strongly recommend this program for students of all abilities who truly wish to further their technical knowledge and build a solid foundation for a career in any part of the tech industry. 42

They have been extremely helpful and responsible designing and teaching customized courses including SQL and PYTHON, and the course in preparation for behavior questions. I graduated from US top 50th University with dual bachelor degrees but, after 2 years of working at a startup company, I still feel like there is a distance between my ability and the real industry job descriptions. After understanding of my situation, Jacky and Kailin designed and customized the course as they did for each applicant, setup training schedule for each week and provided training materials with pertinence(eg. window functions in SQL, A/B testing in Python, thinking process during the interview). Guo is very reliable keeping you on track as he organzied meeting weekly for applicants sharing our feedbacks after interviews and practice leetcodes together. I feel much more confident during the interview as my abilities got huge improved during each week's 1on1 training and group studies. Overall it was a great outcome and I would definitely recommend taking this course if you are seeking for an analyst opportunity.

What sealed the deal was the 50% tuition rate offered, which cut the price from what felt like an outrageous $12.5k to a much more reasonable $6k. I was out of work (at the start of the course) due to the pandemic so it felt like a good time to jump in.
The course begins with an entry math quiz, which was reasonably difficult. It included things like linear algebra, high-level calculus, and advanced statistics. I had never taken linear algebra before but was able to learn quite a bit with Khan Academy. You don't need a perfect score on this entry quiz, but you do need to score around 80% to my recollection.
The course begins with a month-long Python coding bootcamp. This portion is technically ungraded and you can totally skip it if you have a good background in Python. All the learning occurs on the DataCamp platform while homeworks are completed in Jupyter notebooks. There is a final Jupyter project for this Python coding section which IS graded.
The rest of the course is split into 10 modules. Each module consists of two weeks. The first week consists of recorded lectures, some required textbook reading, a one-hour live office hour, forum discussions, and a coding assignment. The second week typically consists of math-based video lectures, a math quiz or two, and a live coding assignment done together as a class and then finished/submitted on your own. The modules are as follows: Practical Applications of Analytics, Data Structures and Plotting, Introduction to Statistics and Probabilities, Linear OLS Models, Linear Regressions Interactions and Transformations, Logistic Regression and Applying GLM, Data Visualization Strategies, Experimental Design/Causal Research/Targeting Analysis, Machine Learning and the final module is the final project. I found all the modules to be very valuable and a good mix of new challenges/repetition.
The final project basically consists of identifying a potential business problem, curating an applicable dataset, and applying machine learning techniques to attempt to solve the problem. You will use Python and relevant ML libraries (mainly sklearn, but others can be used). The trick to the final project is finding something relatively novel that is also doable. There was a broad range of success/failures among my cohorts' final projects. Some people picked things that were too simple and were basically considered mainstay ML problems (ex. identifying mushrooms/flowers based on measurements) while others picked ML problems that were way too big in scope or ill-defined.
The course is also jam-packed with career-oriented learning opportunities. There are multiple sessions with career coaches and assigned mentors, both group and one-on-ones. Be sure to take full-advantage of these, especially if you are planning on breaking into a new data science role.
Expectations:
Expect to spend at least 13 hours a week on this course. I'm definitely not a slow-learner and I felt 13 hours was my average. Expect to spend even more time if you have any foundational knowledge deficits such as calculus or statistics.
Do not expect to become a pro after just this course. It will give you all the necessary skills and knowledge to further your data science journey, but there is much more to do after. I cannot speak to whether it provides everything needed to become competitive for entry-level data science jobs, but I imagine it does, especially at the larger firms like Amazon, AirBnB, etc.
The things I didn't like:
I wish we had more access to actual Dartmouth faculty members. The only actual Dartmouth faculty member you will see will be in the pre-recorded lectures. All live interactions occur with an Emeritus employee. He does a fantastic job, but you can tell he is teaching multiple courses at once. Don't expect office hours to last more than the allotted hour.
Secondly, I was a little disappointed in the range of knowledge/skills among course participants. It felt like far too much time was dedicated to subjects/knowledge that was included in the entry quiz. What's the point of the entry quiz if we're going to end up going over most of that stuff anyway? It just kind of felt like wasted time and I wasn't getting my full moneys worth reviewing stuff that I felt was foundational.
Third, I wish we had spent a lot more time on machine learning as opposed to the more basic stuff. Again, basic statistics were tested for in the entry quiz. Sure it was nice to learn how to code linear regressions in Python, but the meat and potatoes should have been ML. After all, you really only spend two weeks on the ML stuff and it felt rushed since there is so much to learn in the ML world.
Similarly, I wish we had done the ML stuff earlier in the course or at least touched on it more frequently throughout the course. Ultimately, your entire final project is based on ML. But it's a little annoying to be expected to come up with a final project when you don't even really understand the capabilities of ML, to begin with. I know I felt a little lost and in the dark.
Overall, I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in data science. Buildschool

The curriculum is catered towards landing a job in the industry. Everything that is taught is used and applicable towards an iOS developer. The first half of the curriculum is teaching iOS basics/ datastructures and algorithms from the ground up. No prior iOS experience is needed. After about 6 weeks, students will be placed in projects to use and improve the skills they have learned. These projects are not throwaway projects, but can be used in resumes and discussed in job interviews.
The instructor (Sophie) is amazing. Sophie teaches students expecting them to know very little. Because of this, she explains everything in simple terms and does not assume everyone knows all the jargon. This is helpful because it reinforces the basics so students have a strong foundation. Sophie is also very knowledgable and resourceful -- If a student asks a question she does not know, she is willing to go out of her way to research it and explain it to the student in a way he/she can understand.
Sophie is passionate towards teaching and is genuinely interested in all her students. She allocates time to have a one on one converstaion weekly to check in how things are going and what she can do to improve the student's learning.
Once Buildschool has taught the student's everything they need to know for the job, the instructor will provide resume help, interview questions, and even mock interviews. The only gripe -- if really -- is that students are not provided direct referrals. As a bootcamp graduate, it may be harder to find a job without a CS degree. However, I was able to get a job because of the interview help and the skillset that was provided throughout this course.
Overall, Buildschool is an amazing bootcamp that teaches industry standard skills with an amazing instructor who I still connect with. You will happy with the 0$ that you have spent for this experience (:Skillspire

They really want you to get a job in whichever industry you choose! Another benefit of the smaller size of this school is they do well if you do well.
Full Review:
There are a couple programs out there that might help cover tuition if you qualify and the school offers reasonable financing options. I had spoken to one of their recruiters before signing up and was able to work out options best suited to my financial situation with their senior leadership. They have some information about their financing options on their website, but if the cost of tuition is the only hurdle you see then be open with them and talk it out. They absolutely want to help people who honestly wish to help themselves.
Skillspire is a small institution focused on getting people into the tech industry. Their size allows them to help you in the right capacity needed for your situation. They have more freedom to accommodate their students on a personal basis.
Are you a nervous test taker or stress over due dates? NO WORRIES HERE! You won't take a single exam and due dates are very flexible. The course was designed to be no stress/low pressure for the students. The grading structure is very relaxed as well. Turn in your assignment and get the points.
Concerned you won't be able to find the time to participate?
I live on the East Coast and they're based in Seattle, WA. That's a 3 hour time difference. Wednesday classes were late for my time zone but if I couldn't make it to class the instructor sent a link to the recording of the class. They're understanding and lenient on attendance.
You will not pass/fail based on attendance or grades. You are responsible for learning the material just like any other learning institution but they will pull all the stops to make sure you can learn what they're teaching. You get out of this course exactly what you put in. When I went through the course we didn't have our first official homework assignment until just before half way through the 20 weeks. Personally I recommend using an additional resource to practice what you learn between classes. I was brand new to all the material and I felt I needed it and the extra practice helped.
Worried you're computer skills are outdated?
For me, I was a fairly new to programming and didn't have a language I already knew. I had dabbled in C++ in the early 2000's and I liked it. I can't say I put much effort in staying current in tech since that time. When I was looking into this course I wasn't even familiar with Window OS's post Windows XP. I used computers at work that ran Windows 7 - 10 but I only used them for very basic tasks. Upon signing up for the course I had to get myself a proper laptop but I was definitely overdue. ; )
My point is, I barely had a hobby remotely related to tech before I took this course and I didn't struggle due to that. I had played around with some Linux distros on an ARM device (Raspberry Pi 3B+) I purchased on a whim a few years ago but it wasn't even operational when I committed myself to taking the course. I was absolutely a novice.
I just recently finished the course and I'm excited to see where I end up from here.- 3Reviews6CoursesThe University of San Diego Tech Bootcamps offer full-time and part-time online training programs in AI & machine learning, coding, cybersecurity, DevOps... Overall, this course was a success for me. When I initially joined this course, I wasn't specifically looking for a new job, I was already in the software induOverall, this course was a success for me. When I initially joined this course, I wasn't specifically looking for a new job, I was already in the software industry earning a lot of money in Silicon Valley, and I simply wanted to maintain my skill so it is not obsolete. However, as the course progressed and my goals changed, I came to take advantage of their career couching services, which actually made a huge difference in my trajectory.
This course is a serious course and I would recommend you join only if you have experience in software engineering already. While it s not necessary, a lot of the deeper topic will go over your head. Also, the learning outcome is absolutely dependent on how much time you spent on it, you can't expect to pay $10k and buy your way into an expert, this is a legit course and everything will have to be learned legitimately over time.
Some advice to new students:- Write notes continuously or you won't learn anything.
- Use your mentor to keep you on-track, motivate you, and unstuck you.
- Pick a capstone project topic you are actually care about so you won't get bored of it.
- Follow career guidance advice to the tee, it's good advice even if you think it's silly.
- Use your high tuition cost as a motivation to finish sooner.
- And the most important one: you learn only as much as the effort you put into it!
What you need to know before joining / things the course could improve on:- Course material could be ordered better, I had to go back and forth between different chapters to understand certain topics. Notes also helps.
- All their materials can be found online for free, which in my opinion was not a major problem, however the sections that were behind paywall were definitely a problem for me. I hope they eventually replace them with free ones.
- The course is expensive, don't go into it expecting a miracle just because you paid a lot of money. You are still responsible for yourself, but the course will help.
Course outcome: I was doing about 10 interviews per week before the course ended, and I had 2 job offers both above $200k right after graduation. I am currently the lead architect on a high caliber ML project with direct reporting ( I actually didn't even ask for this ). The course paid for itself. I would recommend. Elewa Education

I am currently part of the first cohort of 2019 and we just finished week 8, which is the first week of JavaScript.
I wanted to write a review specifically for anyone who is in the position I was in before I signed up--thinking that the bootcamp looked incredible on paper but a bit confused by the lack of reviews. I can assure you that the bootcamp is as incredible as it appears-- currently 5 hours in-class, 4 days a week, 26 weeks and really they are very generous about helping you during non-class hours, either answering questions promptly online or even allowing you to stop by their offices to hang out. Inventive is also a consulting company, so during the day they are there working as professional developers. This means that there is no risk of getting an inexperienced instructor for the course... Andy and Miguel know their stuff and are both very kind.
I suppose it's hard to know if you are fully satisfied with your bootcamp until you land your first job, but so far Inventive Academy has me feeling very confident and vindicated in my decision to attend. To put it in perspective, by the end of the first week you can reproduce the layout of an actual (albeit simple) website using HTML and CSS and by the end of week seven you feel pretty confident that you could replicate just about any web layout that you come across. And there are still nineteen weeks to go at that point!
Sometimes they can throw you pretty abruptly into some pretty complex problems, so you do have to learn how to teach yourself (being able to teach yourself is a necessary skill in the field of coding with its rapidly-changing technologies). But the teachers and TA's are always sitting right there next to you ready to answer any question. Classes are a lot of fun, and it's probably not a bad thing that they are sometimes very challenging.
I recommend Inventive Academy without reservation.

Throughout my bootcamp and job search experience, I felt fully supported by Fullstack Academy. Some of the most important things I learned was how to feel confident when approaching any new problem and also what to do in a Technical Interview. The instructors really knew what they were talking about. I should also say that the Career Success Coaches were incredibly valuable also. They were always available to answer my questions and give advice. - 2Reviews8CoursesUT Dallas Tech Bootcamps offer full-time and part-time online training programs in coding, cybersecurity, AI/machine learning, data analytics, DevOps, or pro... I had completed 2 previous bootcamps with other schools years ago with mixed feelings.
My journey began with me engaging with 5 possible schools to learn cybersecurity. I chose UTD Tech because of the personal attention I received from the recruiter. She was very accurate and upfront about who would benefit the most from this course. The course material itself prepares you for today's cybersecurity challenges while providing a significant amount of pertinent historical data that shows how we arrived at where we are. The instructors went to painstaking measures to ensure we under the concepts leaving no students behind.
And then the creme-de-la-creme. All the help that was provided with resumes and virtual presence helped me land my new career. - 2Reviews1CourseCoding Summit is a 10-week, immersive online Full Stack Software Development bootcamp. Coding Summit taught both python & JavaScript along with how to use both languages to create web applications. The instructors were always patient and understanding towards the students (I had no prior CS experience). One thing I loved about the bootcamp was the daily whiteboard problems that we would do. This was critical in prepping me for the tech interviews that I would get later on. The material that I was taught was critical in helping me find a job in the tech industry, and I am glad I had the opportunity to change my careers through this bootcamp. - 2Reviews5CoursesUMass Global Online Bootcamps offers online, part-time, 24-week bootcamps in Cybersecurity and Software Engineering.
