Hi, I'm Shweta. I did my undergrad in computer science engineering. Also, I had 3 years of big-data engineering experience prior to joining the course.

When I came across the Data Analytics and Visualization course at U.T. Austin's McCombs Business School, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to learn key skills related to the field I wanted to move to, Data/Business Analytics.

Through the six-months of extensive course, I gained hands-on, programming experi...

    Intructor Jim McCoy

Jim "CodeSlinger" McCoy, is singlehandedly one of the most impactful and resonating people I have ever met. Moving further the amount of knowledge and passion he has in an effort to teach his pupils is astounding, he strives for the perfection of knowledge within himself and those he teaches. I would not have learned what I needed to be successful in this career without his knowledge and advice.

Got more than what I was expecting for

I was enrolled in the UT Austin's Bootcamp back in October 2017 for their part-time, 24-week Data Analytics and Visualization program. I Successfully completed the program in April 2018 and could say that it was one great experience.

Below, I have shared some of the key features of the program.

    • Top-notch curriculum - Covers almost all of the topics that are in high demand in the analytics job market.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Asela! We’re happy to hear you had such a positive experience learning valuable data skills through our program.

We know that our instructors, TAs, and career services are devoted to equipping our students with the best resources and knowledge base - feedback like yours makes these efforts worthwhile. We intentionally foster a sense of community that encourages our students to network and form connections with one another, so we’re glad that you enjoyed collaborating with your classmates.

Like you noted, this course does require students to devote supplemental time outside of class to study concepts, complete exercises, and master the topics. Even though this is a part-time program, it is definitely challenging and fast-paced. It's great to know you enjoyed learning both Python and JavaScript and were able to put your skills to use to create such an impressive portfolio. It looks amazing! We hope you’re proud of the hard work you put into completing this boot camp.

Congratulations once again! We anticipate all your hard work and dedication to pay off. All our best wishes towards achieving your future goals and dreams!

I attended the June through December 2017 Full Stack Flex session. I have to say that I received awesome training and support from the instructional team and class mates. We faced biblical flooding from a hurricane and it didn't stop us. Everyone muscled through and some amazing applications were created. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get into the development world. It's a great starting point. You will gain in demand skills and have abundent resources.

    Difficulty getting the facts

I went through the initital steps to obtain information for this program, which required me to proved my email (my preferred form of contact) along with my telephone number. I specified that I preferred to get the facts about cost in black and white, rather than go through the process of 'talking about my future' with Joel Spencer first. I'll be blunt: I don't like anything that smells like sales pressure when it comes to things like this.  I reiterated in my response to him that I preferr...

    Hi Jennifer,

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback on our admissions process, as it helps us improve the student enrollment experience.

After you fill out the form on our website, our thank you page notes that an admissions advisor will be reaching out to you soon at the phone number provided in order to give you more information about the program. Our advisors strive to provide timely admissions counseling to all those who would like to learn more about our programs, but  as they are conducting many interviews throughout the day, that is not always possible. We understand that receiving information via email is a convenient method, but because our admissions process is highly consultative and this program is not open enrollment, we strive to speak with prospective students directly via phone in order to not only provide key details on the program like tuition, but gauge the applicant's interest and qualifications.

We're constantly working to ensure that all applicants and students feel fully supported during every step of their journey, so we apologize for the lack of response that you experienced and we welcome the opportunity to answer any questions that you have about the course at this time. Please reach out to me directly at (512) 387-5789 so that we can further address your questions and concerns.

It brings a smile to our team’s faces to hear that the program not only taught you the languages for front-end and back-end web development, but also how to explain your code and methodologies to other professionals. As you mentioned—we believe that learning to code requires a solid foundation, and that’s why our curriculum starts by covering computer science fundamentals.

We think Eric is pretty great too, and are so happy to hear that your instructor was not only knowledgeable, but made the experience more enjoyable. The community that forms inside the classroom is amazing, and we love seeing the bond and friendships that are created as a result.
