    Great Investment

My University of Denver boot camp experience (full-stack web developer) was a great investment for me. I was motivated to learn, as much of my current work involves talking to and working with developers, and I hope to move toward product management. This class gave me some fundamental understanding of coding both the back end and front end and I had some great experiences building apps with my classmates.

    Digital Marketing Bootcamp

I am so glad that I took the leap and signed up for the Digital Marketing Bootcamp through University of Denver. I learned a ton, I received amazing support from both my instructional team and student success advisor while in the course. After graduating my career advisor helped me go through the process of applying for jobs and took a lot of stress out of the journey. I definitely recommend this bootcamp.

    Harsh Reality

When I signed up for this boot camp, I was told by one of the administrators that this was a credentialed and respected program within the Software industry. As it turns out, this really isn't accurate. The first thing that everyone should know, is that this isn’t a real Denver University program. It’s owned and operated by a company called Trilogy. Secondly, even though I like and respected the teaching staff, they are expected to pull off an impossible task. There is no way...

Thank you for your feedback, Wyatt. We're glad you liked our instructional team but regret to hear the boot camp as a whole did not meet your expectations.

Like you mentioned, the University of Denver’s University College has partnered with Trilogy Education Services (TES), a 2U, Inc. brand, to offer the University of Denver Boot Camps. The University of Denver’s University College is involved in the curriculum, instructor selection, and outcomes of each of our classes, and routinely monitors the learning experience and performance of each cohort. Both the University of Denver’s University College and TES are truly dedicated to transforming students' lives and aim to be fully transparent about this relationship throughout the admissions process and course.

We understand the boot camp's pace can be strenuous as the program was designed to cover a great deal of knowledge in a limited amount of time. Rather than spending extended periods of time on one particular language or technology, we pride ourselves on teaching individuals how to learn, providing a strong foundational skill set that students can use to continue expanding their knowledge and learning new topics—even after completing the program.

Like you mentioned, in order to assist individuals with the course material, our instructors and TAs not only do their best to provide additional supplemental support through office hours before and after class, but we do encourage students to use our free tutoring network. We're always working to optimize our curriculum and boot camp services, so we appreciate your input.

You're absolutely right that job seeking is difficult and takes hard work on the part of the student. While we do not secure direct employment for individuals, we do provide more than 75 hours of occupational assistance, consisting of resume and portfolio reviews, virtual tech panels, technical interview training, 1:1 meetings with their Career Director, and more. We recognize that networking is an important part of the job search, and as such, we foster a supportive network of boot camp alumni in the Denver area who are eager to connect with recent program alumni and host quarterly Demo Days with industry professionals and former participants. We're frequently refining our career services to ensure students have access to all our available offerings, so your feedback is valuable to us.

We sincerely care about all our students and would welcome the opportunity to further discuss how else we can support you at this time and help meet your expectations. If you would like, please reach out to us directly at (303) 223-1868.

(Hopefully) best choice I ever made

(The title of this review is qualified because I am about 2/3 of the way through, so I don't yet know about getting a job)

My original training is in music performance and teaching. I have a doctorate in performance and pedagogy of music. About six months before enrolling I took a long, hard look at my professional life, and came to the realization that it is not sustainable over the long run.
Once that has been determined, I started teaching myself to code online, to see i...

    Intense, excellent learning experience!

The six-month part-time full-stack Coding Boot Camp at DU was an intense and excellent learning experience!

I started the Boot Camp with zero knowledge or background in computer coding, technology, or any STEM-related field. While there was a steep learning curve, especially in the first few months, the dedication and genuine care and encouragement of the staff (instructor, TA's, tutor, and student coordinator), as well as the mutual support of the tight-knit community of newly m...

The 6 month course (10hrs a week in the evenings and on Saturdays) was a rough schedule but really worth it. You learn a TON. I entered the class as an absolute beginner, and I'd say I ended about middle of the pack - some of the students ended up creating really amazing final projects - it's a matter of how much you put into it. Full Stack Web Dev Experience

I attended this course from Nov. 2018- Feb 2019 and I would like to give my honest opinions without paragraphs of mindless reading:

    Pros:

    • My teacher and TA's were beyond knowledgable and helpful.
    • My teacher, Sarah, is basically an encyclopedia of knowledge that can break things down into 3rd grade level terms (well... as much as it is possible).
    • Our Admin, Caleb is also very knowledgable and checked in on our class ...

Thank you for sharing your experience, Kyle! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the program and found our entire team to be knowledgeable, we also think Sarah and Caleb are amazing. We are also glad that you found the hands-on projects to be helpful and took advantage of all the boot camp resources — this is key for making it through such a rigorous program!

You are absolutely right that our full-time curriculum is challenging and fast-paced, and designed to cover multiple concepts at a high-level. Rather than spending extended periods of time on one particular language or technology, we pride ourselves on teaching students how to learn, providing a strong foundational skill set that individuals can use to continue expanding their knowledge and learning new topics, even after the program ends.

We understand that you would have liked the career support to have started earlier in the course and for it to have been more robust. The bulk of our career curriculum begins after the course, and it was designed this way due to the accelerated pace of our full-time program, allowing students to settle into the full-stack curriculum first. Our professional development services are built on the principle of empowerment, and we offer in-depth support by helping individuals achieve the 'Seven Milestones to Become Employer Competitive.'

In our first two milestones, students are provided the tools and templates for developing a personal brand and in the following weeks continue to build a noteworthy online presence, technical resume, and stand-out portfolio. Leading up to milestone four, students have the opportunity to prepare for technical interviews by practicing with their Career Director and classmates. We finalize all career-ready tools in milestone five, in order to provide each individual personalized feedback on their professional materials from their dedicated Profile Coach. Your job support does not end upon graduation and your Career Director, Mark, looks forward to providing you with a range of continued strategies and coaching.

It is our goal for all of our students to feel prepared as they start the job search, and we would love to provide you with any additional career planning assistance you need at this time. Please contact us directly at (303) 223-1868, so we can discuss how to best equip you for success going forward. We're constantly updating our career services curriculum to best equip students for the job search, so we truly appreciate your feedback. We’re cheering you on and wish you nothing but the best!

    AMAZING experience!

I just graduated and am so excited to see what the future holds. I feel prepared and ready to dive into the web development world on a professional level. The program is tough and fast-paced but a positive attitude goes a long way. My instructor, Sarah was remarkable. I will forever be thankful for her. My tutor, Charlie (who was also a TA) was beyond helpful. The campus is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend University of Denver Boot Camps!

    DU Full Stack Bootcamp

I started out my programming journey learning Swift/iOS part-time, maybe 10 hours a week if I was lucky. As I got more serious about programming, I decided to take the DU Full Stack Web Development Bootcamp and it was the best decision I could have made at the time. Trying to learn on my own was difficult, it was hard to set a structure, some concepts weren't clicking and I found myself moving on to new topics before really grasping the current topic I was learning. DU's bootcamp gave me t...
