    Fun with friends

    Overall, I had a wonderful time participating in the online program. I got the chance to get to know a wide range of people who had like interests, and we developed enduring connections. I learned a lot throughout the program, and it considerably increased my skill set. I genuinely think the investment I made was justified.

    Inspiring, rewarding, challenging

    I had a brilliant experience undertaking the General Assembly course as a career changer. I wasn't sure what to expect and if I would be able to keep up the pace but the instructor team were fantastic at supporting me and go above and beyond to keep me on track. The career team was also fantastic and provided some excellent resources for job hunting

    Best self-investment possible

    I recently completed the GA SEI program and it was the best decision I’ve made for myself in my life. My lead instructor Dan was the most knowledgeable and skilled teacher I’ve ever had, and made this experience not only doable but enjoyable. I couldn’t have asked for a better team leading us through the unknown. On to the job search I go, with confidence and skills I know will lend me my dream job!

    Worth it

    I had many doubts before investing half of my savings in GA data analytics BootCamp a year ago, but now everything around me proves that was the right decision to make. Before that I already had diverse educational backgrounds across TAFE and university programs - none of them yields more outcomes than this 3-month journey. At the time of joining GA in May, 2022, I was unemployed in the aftermath of COVID as a migrant living alone in Australia. Now is June 2023, I'm working as an IT professional with a decent salary in a life-balanced environment. I know friends who recently graduated with Masters of IT at UNSW, UON, or a Cert IV from TAFE, they are actually not doing as good as I am. As once told at an info session at TAFE, this is an unregulated industry - so as long as you find the right field for your (e.g. Data analytics), go for it, gain the skill, then it doesn't matter where you are from, practice your English, then you WILL find a good job. P.S. I know depends on the occasion some may have complained about the instructors, I am a TAE-certified trainer,  trust me, I have seen a lot worse at uni and TAFE, it's not an easy subject to teach, and even more so for 8 hours x 3 months non-stop.

    ReDiscovering Capabilities

    Went into the bootcamp rather nervous, but it turned out that the environment was such a safe space to make mistakes and learn. Students weren’t afraid to ask questions/clarify, which allowed them to gain confidence in their new skillsets. This is especially helpful for those who are doing a major career change and have a case of imposter syndome or self doubt.

    Kudos to the instructors and teaching assistance for their patience.

    Great learning experience

    I absolutely loved my time with General Assembly and their Software Engineering Immersive. It was a full-time online course over three months. The instructor I had at the time, Michael Lackey, was absolutely fantastic in his explanations and guidance. He could be overbearing but because of that, those of us who made it through the course all agreed that it greatly helped to develop our coding skills, learning ability, critical thinking, and teamwork mentality. 
    The post-course outcomes department is a strong force that has helped me personally with my search for a position. Though the market is tough at the moment, they offer great guidance, resources, and connections to other engineers. 
    I highly recommend this course. If I had a second chance to choose a BootCamp, I would select this one all over again.

    Challenging but Fun!

    I took the UX Immersive bootcamp in January 2023 and had a blast. It is definitely not for people who are not ready to work hard, because you need to be ready to put in a lot of hours of work if you want to get the most out of the course. Our instructor Nick Anderson was amazing and I could not recommend it enough.

    Fruitful, insightful and enjoyable Bootcamp

    Before signing up for the course, I was considering whether to upskill through self-study or attending a Bootcamp. Wanting to connect with more like-minded people and get a certificate, I signed up for the course.



    It turns out that I had gained more than that. The course is designed such that you can follow well and get the most of it. Our instructors are helpful and provide lots of insights for real world Software Engineering role. 



    Other than technical aspects, my career coach also provides valuable tips and consultations on CV preparation, insight of processing CV in a company, job application etc. 



    After the course, I’ve also built up a habit to continue learning after work. To sums up, this course comes with necessary resources to make your learning journey easier and fun, how much you want to gain from it depends on the effort you put in.

    Amazing experience with the SEI program

    General Assembly’s Software Engineering Immersive served as a great experience that allowed me to grasps web development and give me the skill to pursue software engineering. My instructors were amazing and were always willing to chat after class and help me understand anything that I had questions on. The full-time program is definitely an time investment but I personally think it’s worth it. I do wish that on the final unit more time was spent on Typescript but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

    An engaging, worthwhile endeavor

    The curriculum for Data Analytics Remote (Online) was exactly what I needed to get started in the Data Analytics space, but the instructor is what really brought this course to life. Durga was fantastic in taking the time to explain concepts and give additional examples where needed. She used her day-to-day experience to help illustrate how the course work could be used in practical instances. I highly recommend the course, and am looking forward to additional GA classes over time.

    A great experience I will look back on fondly

    My experience was overall great! Since graduating, I have done a ton of work to continue my education and skill building in ux by doing pro bono work, alongside looking for full time work. Although I feel like UX bootcamp classes may not be the most accurate depiction of the realities of any particular job, my instructional team definitely gave me the resources and skills needed to apply in many directions. I just have to maintain that willingness to grow post course! Since I graduated in Decemeber, I've continued to use GA as a resource and it's been a blessing to have the campus to come back to in NYC. Not to mention the whole world of alumni and graduates. Although I haven't landed my first job yet, I am so happy with my choice of going to General Assembly.

    Awesome instructors and culture!

    The instructors at General Assembly are phenomenal at what they do and also bring lots of real world experience to the table. I learned so much more than I expected to within the 6 months I attended the Software Engineering Immersive Online Flex program. It was a lot to juggle between a full time job and the bootcamp, but it was so worth it, and I was able to secure an SE job within a few months of graduating.

    The outcomes coaches are nice and supportive, but I didn't interact with them much after the conclusion of the bootcamp itself and largely searched for jobs on my own. There's a lot of general advice but not a lot tailored to you, and it seems like there are way too many students per coach, so it was difficult to get any 1 on 1 time with them more than 15 minutes at a time. Also, the direct job recommendations were so few compared to the number of students looking.

    All in all, I think the GA bootcamp was worth it for everything I learned, but your mileage with outcomes post-course will vary.

    Engaging, Interactive Course, lackluster Job Prospects

    Course was very fun, challenging, and informative. Classes were structured at the right pace...occasionally material was confusing, however both instructors (Britni and Tricia) gave us ample time to ask questions. I was blessed to work with 4 other smart, capable students in a preassigned small group for a project (1 member later dropped out which did increase the workload). Nevertheless, this is a great course if you're new or seasoned to product management. Cost is on the higher side for a 10 weeks course, but General Assembly does offer finance options. It appeared many of my classmates didn't flinch at that (most likely because their employers paid for it; I wasn't so lucky). While the final day of class was memorable for connecting with professional PM's currently practicing their craft, the biggest gripe is the lack of transition to a PM role. It is entirely possible to take this course and STILL walk away without a PM career at the end of it. This class is great, the instructors our amazing, but GA drops the ball HARD on progressing you into a PM role at close of the course. Hopefully, GA can re-work their courses to transition graduates into actual tech roles, perhaps offer a complimentary internship for graduates with tech companies.

    Worth the hard work!

    I attended my Software Engineering Immersive (SEI) bootcamp with General Assembly in mid-late 2022.

    Having previously met and hired multiple graduates from GA I went in having done quite a lot of my own + some crowdsourced research, and was not disappointed.
    Definitely not for the faint of heart, GA will take your education (and post-graduation) seriously, and push you to the limits of what you can accomplish in a short time frame (12 week immersive in my case).

    The teaching & instruction team are tried and tested, with a lot of the Instructor Associates having previously been graduates as well, you're well supported from the beginning with people who have really 'been there and done that' before you, understanding the highs, the lows, the stress, the FAQ's and everything in between.

    From a post-graduation standpoint the Careers & Success coaching is tip top, something that I discovered almost no other bootcamp education provider actually offers, or if they do it's in it's infancy by comparison to GA. Regular catch-up's, infinite access to 1 on 1 career, resume, tailored job application, networking events, group interview session etc are on offer on a very regular basis - not to mention additional resources in email follow ups on potential job openings you can apply for week in week out (they do half if not 75% of the job search process FOR you).

    Highly recommended, competitive and thorough education top to bottom, my current boss is stoked I came out knowing the practical skills I needed to be a hands on coder very quickly.

    Intense and rewarding bootcamp

    This was one of the most intense courses I did, it's only 6 days long, but the content was great.
    We went from ideation to investor deck in less than a week.  The instructor was outstanding, had great communication skills and a wealth of product experience.
    The content is very clear and systematic with multiple external references to drill into on your own time. The group exercises were engaging and practical. A very wholesome experience. The job assistance wasn't amazing, there are a few groups (LinkedIn, Facebook and Slack) where alumni can share jobs and cvs.
    I went out and applied the learnings from the course by consulting a company I knew and as a result, doubled their subscriptions.

    Dived in to the Software Engineer Immersive Course

    I recently completed a 12 week software engineer immersive course at GA Sydney and I couldn't be happier with the result. The course covered a wide range of topics, including computer history, javascript, ruby on rails, jQuery, react, and Vue. I was impressed by the creativity and fun aspects of the course, such as learning three JS and p5, and even creating music with sonicPi.

    One of my favourite parts of the course was the weekly projects that allowed us to put our knowledge into practice and solidify our understanding of the material. The projects were a great opportunity to work in a team, learn git branching, and improve our teamwork skills.

    In addition to the technical skills, the course also provided valuable networking opportunities. The course instructors connected us with a large network of professionals, which was a fantastic resource for finding job leads and resources after completing the course.

    Overall, I highly recommend this programming course to anyone looking to improve their skills and advance their careers. The diverse range of topics, hands-on projects, and valuable networking opportunities made for a well-rounded and enjoyable learning experience.

    Product Management

    I participated in the remote online Product Management course that spanned the course of 10 weeks. During which I had the opportunity to learn about the product lifecycle, how to conduct user interviews, and how to effectively present my discovery findings.
