I really enjoyed brainstation. The admissions process was  very easy and straightforward.  the admissions officers do their best to make sure you have the best understanding of the course you are enrolling in, and made sure to create a path that is best suited for you (eg finances, start times, etc). The course administrators are also very thorough with the material and try their best in providing all the necessary help (eg websites, books, videos) to supplement your learning. The way the material was structured facilitated understanding and learning. I feel really prepared to go out into the field and to grow. Read less

Dallas Kwok and Anvita were amazing instructors. We learnt job-ready essentials of UX Design. The teachers were always available to help, even after hours. Great learning experience. 

The curriculum consisted of intro to UX, design thinking, user research, user personas, information architecture, user task flows, sketching, wireframing, prototyping, interactive prototyping, UI design, typography, spacing, gridlines, user accessibility, user testing, etc.

I really enjoyed my time at Brainstation. While I found the classes engaging and the instructors very knowledgeable this is more of an introductory course into the world of product management. It is a bit quick paced but you'll gain some valuable insights that would help you kickstart your PM journey.  Read less

The course is a great overview of the product manager role and provides a great opportunity to practice some of the techniques learned in class via a in class project. Most importantly, gave us a chance to work with other class members in class, which most of the classmates are from a different discipline and industry. This is a great simulation of cross job family collaboration which a lot of the product managers would have to face in the real world.  Read less

This was a really great class. The instructors were instrumental especially in SQL. They really show you step by step how to work through the different things that you learned. It was fast paced, but the instructors did a great job of making sure, as a student, we were able to keep up. Great course and will definitely be back!!!!  Read less

Brainstation UX bootcamp program provides a good foundation to build technical skills and academic knowledge of the entire UX process. The bootcamp also provides power hour speakers, hackathons, case studies, panel speakers, and career service help during your time with the bootcamp. If you can take the in-person class, I would recommend taking it for networking and more personal help from the educators. The cons to the program are that other bootcamps provide pre-work prior to their bootcamp and Brainstation pre-work doesn't do a good job on that compared to other bootcamps my friends have done. It would be better to do some self-learning before starting the bootcamp because most students that did well had a design background or did prework prior to starting the bootcamp. I wouldn't recommend working while taking the bootcamp, but it is manageable work because you will be provided with open studio hours to do work during the time frame you have to be in class. Overall, it is a great program, but I don't think its worth 16,500 for a 12-week course where you have an open studio most of the time in the day which is time to do work on your projects and office hours from the instructors. I would recommend weighing the pros and cons of all bootcamp and looking for real-world projects as well(Brainstation does this) before making a final decision.  Read less

The overall experience was great - quality experience from being taught by industry professionals, giving insight into what a career change might hold. It is intensive, if you choose the 3 month plan, but if you are seriously considering a switch into tech then BrainStation is the perfect choice! Read less

I really wanted to like this course. I had high hopes for it but unfortunately it fell flat on two fronts. First is the course material was very dense and it felt like we flew through it at breakneck speeds. The instructors did a fantastic job with what they had to work with but I felt as though either extra weeks of course (which could be challenging considering the selling point is the short time frame) or adding more pointed self learning that students could do on their own between classes would help solidify the understanding of the material. The labs were good homework but I feel as though some more could be done ahead of the class to not feel lost. Second is the final project. When I signed up for the course it was sold to me as the start of my data analytics portfolio that I would then use as a resume. But it was in a group so I feel as though I didn't get as much out of it. Also group work is not great especially over video chat.  Read less

The Good:
I enrolled in this course to gain and understanding of the skills required to pursue a career in product management. I was impressed with the credentials of the instructors, and their passion for their work was inspiring and engaging.

The Bad:
Unfortunately the content was high level and was seldom contextualized in real world examples. For the price I was VERY disappointed in course and did not feel like I left any better prepared than I went in. I would advise doing some research and reading a few books, you’ll end up out a far greater understanding of the principles and you’ll save yourself 4k. 

Additionally, they cut a full 8 hours of instruction out of the course, but did not adjust the price. Very disappointed with my experience, hopefully some of the other courses are better.  Read less

 BrainStation's Data Science Bootcamp is very demanding. However, the instructors and the staff are great at supporting you through this journey. They have a tested and complete set of lectures that would give you a sufficient understanding of the different branches of Data Science. After completing the bootcamp you might be exhausted but it is amazing to see how much you can learn in such a short time. Highly recommend this bootcamp.  Read less

Really informative course teaching Product Management from end to end. Course instructors are knowledgeable and use their experience to help students understand application of Product Management in a professional setting. Useful online learning resources which guide you through the full 8 weeks. Some knowledge or appreciation of Product would be helpful prior to taking the course. Feedback was delivered slightly late for my liking but was useful when shared. Overall a really friendly setting where you can learn in comfort. Would recommend for learners looking to pivot into Product Management. Read less

What I loved most about this Bootcamp (one night per week) is how concise and measured the lessons are week to week. The course has developed much over the years and I'm confident I finished this 8 week boot camp with the tools I need to start and continue my Data Analytics journey. Applicants that will get the most value out of this Bootcamp, are those who have invested time researching what Data Analytics is about, and cross-referencing their findings against their personality type and interests, and more importantly, what industry the applicant might hope to apply their learnings to.  If an applicant goes into this bootcamp with a solid understanding of what was outlined above, the lessons will be more accessible and easier to comprehend, simply because as a student, you are able to contextualize new concepts to reality, or even better, what you do for work.  8 Weeks flies by. If you want to finish the course feeling like you've grasped and understood the core principles of Data Analytics, you must practice and or engage in learning more about the domain outside of time in class.

The bootcamps, greatest opportunity is to give its students more opportunities to improve/practice their new skills in-class multiple times per class. Of course, with varying levels of understanding between students, time can sometimes be allocated more towards helping students understand new and broad concepts, however, if more time was allocated towards deliberate practice I believe the upside would be that graduates may finish the bootcamp with greater confidence in their new skillsets. Another area that the bootcamp can optimize is the installation of software. With varying hardware, considerable time was sometimes spent in-class to support the installation of software like SQL and or Tableau. A suggestion would be to have Learner Support / Synapse be more hands on with this process before the course begins as it would have been ideal to have our instructor spend more time helping students understand concepts, and or going through more demonstrations / more deliberate practice.

Overall, this course is best suited for those who have invested some time into researching and understanding if Data Analytics is of serious interest to them. For those looking to up-skill with no previous coding experience, this 8 Week Bootcamp gives you the basics at a fast-pace that if not practiced independently, can be difficult to retain. The instructor is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and is very skilled in understanding students from various backgrounds. Both the instructor and the teaching assistant work in the industry and were able to easily connect their teachings to the current job market.

Overall, after finishing this course I feel equipped to advance my Data Analytics journey/career. With a few more portfolio projects I would feel confident entering the Data Analytics job market. After doing more research about the industry after finishing the course it was encouraging to learn that Excel, SQL and Tableau are some of the most sought after/used programs day to day as an Analyst. At first I was disappointed to see Python was not part of the course, but after learning SQL, I feel confident to learn Python separately. Read less
