I did a lot of research on bootcamps and different choices and ultimately chose truecoders for their amazing price value, the fact that they had the job placement aspect, and that it is live class each day. Honestly this class would have been so amazing to take in person but due to covid that wasn't possible much like everything else these days. However with working with what they've got and their preparation to be 100% online I had an overall great experience. If you get Michael as an instructor you're golden. Utilize the 1 on 1's. I will say however that the job placement aspect is much like others i've taken and so I had a good understanding of how to achieve this before and I didnt get too much more from this but was good to touch up.

TrueCoders is a great place to learn how to become a software developer. Coming from a financial background with zero knowledge of coding, TrueCoders gave me the skills and confidence to become a software developer. The staff, teachers, and students were and still are amazing support group

Overall the course is worth taking. The instructors are helpful, they utilize technology in a good way (slack, zoom, google classroom). I would have liked it to me be a little more strict on deadlines, assignment completion, etc. After the first few weeks the course becomes very independent, the instructor holds lecture everyday and is there for any and all questions, and I can't stress how helpful the instructors are, but there is no attendance and if you don't complete the course work then no big deal it seems. This may work for some people, but part of the reason I took the course was to have that person standing behind me with a whip so to speak. Again, others may like this aspect. The only real problem I had with the course is that the job placement side of things is really just career advice and networking. To be fair they do hold job placement talks twice a week, in these talks they go over things like, how to build a resume, setting up your LinkedIn, sample interview questions, etc. What they don't do, is put you in front of jobs, at most, they might set you up with the handshake and pass you off, that is, if they (by chance) have a connection with the company you are seeking. If you are looking for a school where recruiters will join your chat or even have job postings regularly presented to the students, this is not for you. My experience with this side of the school was, "we have a huge network of companies that we work with, so we can help you get a job", which more or less translated into, "if you find a job you want to apply for (on your own) ask me, and I might have a connection to that person/company". I will admit that I did not attend most of the job placement talks, mostly because they seemed elementary, e.g. "if you are going to interview, read the job description and prepare yourself, come up with questions", maybe its just me, but these things seem obvious. I'm not trying to say that this is completely negative, I will admit that the talks are motivational and will keep your mind in a positive place, and it will help you keep the sense that it is possible and you will change your life from this decision. However, for me there was a clear disconnect between the level of professionalism and expertise of the instructors compared with the job placement side. If you are looking to learn how to code in a variety of languages from little to no experience, you have come to the right place.

TL;DR - Good school, mediocre job placement.

I learned 10 times more in this course than I did when coding at university at a fraction of the price. Classes are small and you get as much attention from the instructor as you need. Can't beat it!

First off, it's far more affordable than a 4-year university or even the big-name bootcamps.  You also have the choice of a full-time day class or a part-time evening class.  Lastly, you can either pay up-front or pay in installments.  That way, you don't have to give up any of your salary to some income share agreement.  And the way they teach is better than any college course.

Whether you're starting as a novice or re-affirming your skills, the instructors are patient and go the extra mile to make sure you learn the material. They genuinely do care if you gain the skills necessary to have a career as a software developer. From resume suggestions to advisement on LinkedIn, TrueCoders also does everything they can to make sure you acquire a job upon completion of the program.

Before starting this class, I had no previous knowledge of how to code. I worked as an engineer for a hotel in Birmingham and was forced to look for another job due to the virus. I have a friend that recently took the truecoders course and he said it was well worth the money and time. Taking the course, the teachers are incredibly helpful and will answer any question you may have. They also make it so that you can get help outside the class time if you need it. Finally, they are very advantageous when it comes to actually job searching and preparing you for that after the course is over. I highly recommend this course.

The pros are that you are taught how to code in C# in a down-to-earth manner.  There are lessons that take you from ground-zero up to being able to handle databases and APIs.  The instructor makes sure that any and all questions are answered, and the environment is such that one-on-one is universally available, so you never have to feel uncomfortable about asking for help.  But besides this, there is plenty of material covered for the more advanced students to get practiced in the more in-depth topics.
Also the career-prep dedication is top-notch.  My job search before attending TrueCoders was frustrating to say the least, in not finding appropriate openings and not getting any replies.  But before the end of the course I had already found a prospective position that I was excited about and was in touch with the hiring team.
One more pro is the value and time commitment.  This is one of the shorter bootcamps, which I believe to be a better approach than the longer ones.  This leads to a con, that a longer bootcamp would provide more in-depth content (but being out of the workforce for a longer time)

This course is a great introduction into the world of coding. All of the instructors are very patient and very understanding. I entered this program with no experience at all and I'm leaving the course with a confidence in my abilities to grow in the development field.

Thanks!
