I have recently graduated from Coding Dojo and it is the best programming course that I have attended. The platform was really well thought out and easy to use. Lectures and instructors were a great help, it was a recap that made learning the concepts easier and a preparation for weekly assignments. What I liked most is the structure of the course, which is based on "Learning by doing". Assignments helped us develop problem solving and searching skills, which I believe are the core traits that a developer should have. I totally recommend it.  Read less

I had a really great experience at Coding Dojo. I started teaching myself to code a few months prior to signing up for this bootcamp, and was really struggling to get the fundamentals down. I wanted to progress at a faster pace, so when Covid hit I figured that I could easily dedicate 20+hours of my week to learning in this program, while still working remotely at my job. I am so happy that I made that choice. The curriculum is structured in a way that provides the foundations for you to grasp essential concepts and yet challenges you to seek out more information, thereby encouraging you to continue learning on your own, and teaching you HOW to learn code, which is arguably the most important thing I learned in this program. My classmates were phenomenal, and it was great to get real experience working with other developers on projects, learning fit and how to collaborate. Instructors were great, and there are tons of video resources available so that you can watch different teachers teach the same material in different ways if you aren’t quite getting something the first time around. The course material provides tons of opportunities to exercise what you’re learning and really have it sink in to your brain. TAs are incredibly helpful and never just give you the answer, but lead you to discover it on your own. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn a TON very quickly. I recently graduated from Coding Dojo,and I can really say that I made an amazing decision joining it.The learning platform (+whole learning material),live lectures and the instructors were really helpful.I especially loved all those assignments we had to do,which helped me practise and  understand the concepts better.I am happy I improved a lot and learned many new things.I highly recommend Coding Dojo to everyone!  I would honestly recommend the Coding Dojo Academy for everyone who is looking forward to becoming a full stack developer in a short-time period and still don't know where to start!
I recently graduated and I could say that those 4 months were mine, it was one of the best learning experiences of my life.
The things that I mostly liked about the academy were the way they organised the materials, assignments and exams as well.
Even if someone failed the exam, it had the chance to retake it and get help from instructors to get better.
The positivity and support the instructors gave us by always being there when we needed extra lessons or explanations made us feel joyful. 
Another good thing is that we have access to the platform 6 months after graduation so we can take all the courses that we couldn't take before and do all the optional assignments which have those details that help you improve a lot.

Don't miss out on something that could be amazing just because it could also be difficult! :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Coding Dojo experience! 

Claire is a phenomenal instructor who would always take time to answer my questions and did a great job teaching the course.

My goal of learning was to learn multiple languages and get project exposure so I am very satisfied with what I got out of it!

The TAs were excellent and got an enormous amount of help from my classmates.

Just one thing that can be improved is that there should be a lecture where we learn how to apply AJAX to CRUD commands.

AJAX was something I struggled with and had to get help from classmates/TAs and google searching to understand how to use AJAX code for deleting, editing, or adding information to my project. 

It wasn't until finishing the group project that I truly understood AJAX.

So I just recommend that they do a lecture on applying AJAX to basic CRUD commands.

Other than that, I am satisfied and highly recommend Coding Dojo for anyone who has no coding experience and wishes to get into coding!

I attended this boot camp from August 2019 to November 2019 and had a great experience. The instructors are all extremely knowledgeable and are very willing to hep you.  Know that this is a difficult process that will challenge you to be diligent and work hard, but it is very worth it once you make it through and get to the other side. I was in Sales prior to the course and now I am doing development work for a large company because of the tools I gathered from the Dojo.  Read less

It is always hard to pull the trigger when deciding to get more education-- the investment, no, spending the money, yes.  I was worried that I was going to take the class and fall into the trap of just being another number to the program. I didn't feel that way at all with Coding Dojo. Coding can be very intimidating if you are starting from scratch like I did, and it was hard at times, but the instructors always helped me find and answer quickly. Also, there is no peer pressuring, which I loved. It's not about you cramming for an exam just to pass and never use again. They want you to learn it your way so it resonates. I have not landed a job yet, but the career services are very advantageous about guiding you in the right direction. Though, it is ultimately up to the student to put the work in. Good luck!  After hearing mixed reviews from previous graduates and trying to figure out which bootcamp to join I decided to enroll in the Coding Dojo Online bootcamp due to their emphasis on practicing algorithms.  I learned a lot even after having some experience on front end languages with my previous jobs but this isn't a school where they spoon feed you the information. You really have to dig into the curriculum and learn it on your own. The instructors will basically 'instruct' you on how to do the overall tasks for the week and then it's on you to dive into the assignments and learn and apply it.  The good: - Plenty of detailed chapters and  assignments that guide you on the way to understand how these languages are connected. - Emphasis on algorithms and how to think logically. - Most of the instructors are available to help and explain concepts that don't quite stick at first and will be willing to go over the areas you are struggling in. Just schedule time with them and explain where the dots don’t connect. A human experience.  Where improvements are crucial: - The bootcamp needs to hire more TAs for online support at night on top of needs more hours of availability. - Have more assignments graded by either the TAs or Instructors or hire graduates as 'graders' in preparation for the exams with feedback on what to focus on and where you need to improve. Having even five assignments graded per stack/section would be a good indicator on where more emphasis needs to be made when learning. - Overuse of curveballs to throw students off. Curveballs are good on occasion for an extra challenge but one really needs to feel comfortable learning and not feel like the whole curriculum is out there to throw you off when learning it.  I retook backend portion a couple of times to really understand it rather than rushing through it and getting a certification without having a solid understanding of the subject matter. I'm a slow learner but once I got it I know it seamlessly. And the instructors were very helpful being patient with that learning curve.  My overall experience was a gratifying one but the some of the instructors and some higher ups at the beginning of the course were definitely greedy apples in the bunch that were out there to throw students off and take your small fortune you forked over. However there seems to have been a readjustment that took place midway during my tenure and the people brought in/promoted have been really helpful in wanting you to succeed. I feel that Coding Dojo hit a few bumps that took a hit on their reputation but made the necessary adjustments to recoup their reputation and now looking back on it I feel like they’re on the right track again putting students first rather than profits.   Read less

Took the course and, once I completed the course, I learned employers want work experience. Could not land a job after Coding Dojo program, even with their career services helping. 

Found a program through my university that offered to teach computer programming and provide real world work experience through internships opportunities. All taught by actual professors who have actually worked in the tech industry. 

Coding dojo staff was nice but had very little background in tech. They were all newbies like me. Only one of the instructors had worked in the industry as a coder. The others were recent graduates of Coding dojo. 

I suggest you find another bootcamp, always good to check with accredited universities, that can offer work experience while you learn to code and has teachers with work experience.  Read less

I spent 15 weeks learning web fundamentals and Python online and part-time. I am so happy with the results of my experience with Coding Dojo's online program. Compared to many similar organizations they provide focused, full-time instructors not just part-time "experts". My instructors were experienced, qualified developers that are helping students understand the concepts, best practices, and reality of coding full-time. I had access nights and weekends to a TA and the instructors to discuss my questions. It made all the difference. Read less

I love the Dojo and miss it.

A bit over a year ago I decided I wanted to make a career to become a programmer.
In my journey of looking for a program, I went to a few open houses and pre-bootcamp introduction in different schools.

I then looked up Coding Dojo, this school was; in my budget, not too far and had free parking (important when you plan to spend hours there), open from morning till evening and Saturdays.
When I went to their open the atmosphere was so welcoming. I loved it right away.

I was happy to find such a relaxing environment since I was going to start learning something completely different in a different language. I was in the medical field and my first language is french. At that time my english was still basic.

I then joined the full stack development program. 
My teacher were amazing; very understanding and helpful and so were the students.
Coding dojo is such a judgment free and supporting environment.
Although the curriculum was intense and not easy I enjoyed every minutes I spent learning.
To keep your from burning out, the instructors would offer 1h to go do sport in a park near by.
A couple of time they even managed to bring a yoga teacher to do stretching and breathing exercises personalized for us.

The dojo is so inviting also by the layouts, 
- there is a big kitchen with a fridge for you to bring your lunch or to get some of the snacks they have for us (free) such as fruits, cereals and all type of snacks,
- a couples couches to rest or take a nap when needed,
- a room with a lot of windows and a ping-pong table - great place to take a break, make some friends and get some light - eventually get better at ping-pong.
- there is an area dedicated to alumni - where we can come to work on our projects, and job search.
- a couples other rooms to do lectures or for our use as well.
- Pizza Friday - when there was an open house
- bathrooms - of course

Workspace:
- Computer screen - if available you can use as many as you want
The layout is great so you can be around other students - mostly the group you are in.

Job Search:
The dojo is also composed to a counseling office where a career adviser is here to help you with getting ready to look for a job.  

What I liked a lot is that the instructors manage the curriculum where we get to team up and learn one of the stack with another group.

I am beyond grateful I got the chance to learn at the dojo. It was such a great experience and I am still in contact with some of the instructors and definitely made friends. I am still involved with the dojo and will answer the bel anytime to help out.

Coding Dojo was definitely the best experience of my life so far! I am forever grateful I was given this opportunity. It helped me connect everything together, which I struggled with before. The instructors and TAs were always ready to help, the lectures were quite informative and the learning materials and the assignments helped put all the pieces together perfectly. The assignments  really bring out the fun and the excitement of programming; you can spend hours programming and enjoying every bit of it. The projects were quite challenging and helped boost my skills and confidence.
