Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.

To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.

Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard’s tuition-back guarantee allows students a six-month runway to land a job.

Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.

Most of what I have learned about Data Science, I have learned online through free MOOC's. I enjoy this method of learning because I can really learn at my own pace, and I believe it nurtures free-thinking and problem solving in a way that more structured environments (i.e. univeristy) do not. After about a month of working through Springboard's Data Science Intensive course, I really like their unique learning environment. The coursework is curated from a pretty large variatey of websites across the internet, and I would have never found all of this material on my own. I feel much more comfortable discussing complex data science topics and using analytics tools after only of month of coursework. Unlike the other reviewer, I have not spent any additional money on the curated coursework. The mentorship program is a key component to my success thus far in the course, and he has really helped me through my capstone project. Finally, Springboard nurtures a pretty vibrant community of students and mentors that communicate through a private forum.

Overall, I am feel like the course was money well-spent, and I am excited to get a lot more practice with my newly acquired skills.

The curriculum is a bunch of curated resources from various web sites (Udacity, Lynda, and other web sources). They also do provide articles and suggested books. While I found the videos helpful, the suggested books hold the key information. Also just a note a lot of the resources you will want have short trials and you will end up having to pay for. I found Sketch, Flinto, and UXPin to be the most helpful for completing the projects.

The projects all build a good porfolio to break into the field of UX including the classic Timebank exercise. I did this course to get a better background in UX as a developer and it did help me get a lot better ideas for planning, layout, and repsonsiveness. I cannot speak for Job Assistance as I am not looking to break into the field but there are a number of people taking the course looking to do so. (You would probably get the most assistance from your mentor). The course does have GREAT office hours ranging in topics from breaking into UX to specific concepts that relate to your projects.

The best part is your mentor. Springboard seems to do a good job with matching you with a mentor that matches what you really want to get out of the course. My mentor has been nothing short of amazing. That is what you really pay for with this course, not the materials, but the mentorship. You get a weekly phone call with your mentor and mine would answer emails with feedback in betweek sessions.

Overall the course is inexpensive if you're looking to get a solid background and understanding of UX. I am more of a back-end developer so this actually helped me understand a lot of things about the Front-End side of development. I am not trying to break into the field of UX, BUT the mentorship is awesome and I'm sure you and your mentor would develop a plan to break into the field if you are looking to.

My overall experience with Springboard was great. I am transitioning from the scientific research field into the design industry, and I felt the materials presented in the course was sufficient at providing the necessary tools to gain UI/UX design experience.

Mentor support, career services, job guarantee, curriculum content, flexibility.

    Cons:
    Curriculum delivery

This was my second bootcamp experience, after having a misunderstanding about the job guarantee with the first one. Once I vetted Springboard's job guarantee, it was a no-brainer to sign up. At the time of this writing (March 2022) I had an option to pay only after I received a qualifying position, or else I wouldn't have to pay at all.

The curriculum is outstanding for the small timeframe that it's delivered in. My only wish is that it was delivered in a different format so that I could have used my phone to work on it instead of having to be at my computer for it.

The mentor experience and career services are absolutely top notch for Springboard.

My wife had a baby in the middle of my cohort, and Springboard allowed my to pause for a very generous amount of time with 0 repercussions to the job guarantee or completion. I cannot put into words that amount of relief that washed over me once they gave me that option.

Great overall experience, with small matters for improvement, but nothing that really detracts from the course. I definitely recommend Springboard to anyone looking to change careers.

This program is a total waist of money. You can easily learn everything they teach you here and pay 1/6th of the price tag. ALL of the coding lessons come from data camp, so right there you can easily just pay for the data camp data science career track and you just saved yourself a pretty penny. Then they just copy and paste some web articles into the curriculum. Its absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay thousands more for data camp with a bunch of hype. I still haven't found a job and its been over 6 months because people don't take the career track as experience. My 'Mentors' didn't really teach me anything to be honest they just tell me to look stuff up online. Again this program is a joke and you are the punchline, don't be dumb enough to give scam artists your money. This program is exactly what it smells like a diploma mill churning out class after class of dumb sheep who are too embarrassed to admit they bought in to the lie. A total waist of time and money DO NOT BUY THIS COURSE !!

I was in the Data Science Career Track course. This course was a bit expensive, but I was motivated by the job guarantee, and that a data science job would help me to afford the loan payments at the end of the course. I was able to get a job the month before I completed the course! I am making $78,000 at my entry level Data Science position in Texas.

I was applying for Data Science jobs since before starting the course, and as I progressed I saw improvements in my applications. Having the Career Service advisor's help looking over my resume and LinkedIn. After 2 months I began receiving skill assessments from my applications, 3-4 months in the course I was finally getting into the first round of interviews, and after 6 months I was getting call backs for 2nd round interviews.

The assignments early on prepared me very well for the skill assessments I was receiving. I applied to IBM for an entry level position early in the course, and I felt confident just from what I had done in preparation for the Guided Capstone (the first project SpringBoard has you work on). While I didn't pass this assessment it was good to see that what I was actively learning was something I was going to see out in the real world.  Now in my current job, I am already utilizing the skills I learned during this course at my job.

The course however is tough to keep up with, and it did take me 8 months instead of the advertised 6. I felt like a lot of important information at the end was very glossed over, while the middle of the course had some very in-depth projects. I understand it's done this way on purpose so you can focus on your final project but I do wish there had been more information in times series, SQL, and tools we would likely be asked to use on the job (like Power BI, Tableau, etc.). My current job is very Excel heavy and using pivot tables, and a quick assignment covering some of the basic skills a we might use (beyond the normal basics) could prepare a new hire for success.

Software Engineering isn't for everyone, so make sure you understand what the day-to-day and challenging parts of an SE career are like by talking to developers in the field. This program is intensive, but even so, expect to dive deeper into books, docs, and other sources outside of the material to learn if you are new to programming. The mentorship program is wonderful and this camp will help you build lots of projects for your portfolio. You have unlimited access to career coaches so make sure you take advantage of their help when it comes to your job search and hit those data structures, algorithms, and leetcode early on in the course to prepare yourself for the job search.

I tried learning software development on my own but it was slow and inefficient. I thought I would try the prep course to feel things out and was blown away. The course is unbelievably well laid out and understandable. I started with very limited exposure to coding and just took my time with the content.  I struggled briefly with the final assessment because they really challenge you. I appreciate the challenge and studied/practiced what they provided and managed to pass the next time. It felt so good to solve the problems on my own. I feel much more confident going into the career track now.

Thanks!
