I researched several schools and decided Quick Start was my choice. I have always found the course to be well organized and support available at every step. My Course Mentor is a great instructor who prioritizes information for his students and guides them through the course. I am about half way through the course and I am very happy with my progress. There is a lot of information and it does take committed study, but I feel I am in the right place to get the best possible education.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

The videos are unedited and practically is a guy reading a PowerPoint (the slides are not provided). You can find better curriculums from letsdefend or hackme at a fraction of the price. The job assistance is also a joke, they don't help you find jobs and all they ever do is post jobs which you're highly unqualified for. The material was super helpful and challenging at times, but it was so worth it. When I finished the course I was very nervous about interviewing and finding a job. I was met with very knowledgeable people who helped give me the guidance I needed to be able to succeed. I hit the ground running after getting my LinkedIn and resume completed with their help. I applied to over 80 jobs in one week. When I heard back from the company I now work for, I contacted Gwen and Kevin through QuickStart to help me prep for the interviews. Video classes where very repetitive and if you can’t make them and need to watch the video you are out of luck if the teacher didn’t show the entire code on the screen.
I emailed the teachers asking for the code or for future videos to take a second and scroll the whole screen for those watching the videos and never heard back from anyone.
The job placement department practically doesn’t exist, I heard from them two times in about two months.
The person who is supposed to help with interviewing took months to reply stating “somehow your email got placed in my spam folder”.
During the courses I asked for help, the helper joined my zoom session left after about 30 seconds and told me to share my GitHub repo and he would look at it later, he didn’t.
I got him to join my zoom session again a week later the same process occurred but after the second time never heard from him again.
This bootcamp has been a complete disaster, I’m certain it has been better for other but my experience has been horrendous, I am currently trying to contact customer service and speak to them about many options including refund policies.
From my experience I would not recommend, save money and learn from a better place.Overall1.0Curriculum3.0Job support1.0Instructors1.0 -

I was working in the field of Customer Service in a Call Center but working over there made me realize I wasn't learning anything new and that is when I developed the idea of acquiring a new skill. After much research I decided to select the Florida Atlantic University's Bootcamp for Web Development through Quickstart.
For someone who had no prior experience in the field, this bootcamp seemed perfect for me. Right from the Enrollment process, till the point where I connected with my Academic Advisor, it was all smooth sailing. These guys even provide support through an instructor that is available on a need basis. I would specially like to thank my instructor who, according to me is one of the most learned mentors I have worked with. Zsolt truly went above and beyond to help the whole class out. With his help and a little combined studies, I was able to quickly get started and work through the curriculum and build my knowledge along the way. I have learned so much during my time in the Bootcamp, all the while feeling supported, through bi-weekly mentor sessions, weekly self-paced, and one on one support when needed. I have just finished the bootcamp and I am looking into possible opportunities for my official career change. I would recommend this course to anyone that is looking to get into web development.Overall5.0Curriculum5.0Job support5.0Instructors5.0 -

When I had...I signed up for Quickstart's Full Stack Web Development program, and was lied to almost immediately; The program brochure they had sent me listed three (3) weekly live tutoring sessions when in reality there were only ever two (2) per week. When I had asked about this while requesting a refund, they told me not to mention this fact as it would "hurt my chances at getting a refund." I travel for my job throughout the week and was relying on the weekly Saturday sessions to help catch up and discuss if I fell behind because of work.
Moving into the actual content of the program, it is hilariously vague and outdated. So much so they had to "re-vamp" their content for 2021. They had attempted to administer this course without giving any serious attention to JavaScript, one of the key components in understanding Web Development. Despite being listed as a course module, instead we were given a paltry slideshow and a PDF to a JavaScript textbook which we were given SEVEN (7) weeks late (more on that later). The React/Redux modules have almost zero meaningful information to actually understand them, and the MySQL/PHP modules and videos date back to 2011/2012. Not exactly the cutting edge of content as they promised. The second half of the course falls flat completely.
By far the worst part of this company is their utter lack of support and communication. They have no problems ignoring you for weeks on end. I was missing two weeks worth of courses from the website (necessary to the project that was upcoming), and it took two weeks for them to appear, literally on the due date for the project that required them. When I asked how I could possibly catch up now that I was three weeks behind on content through no fault of my own, they shrugged their shoulders and said sorry.
This severe lack of communication is endemic and present in every person I've spoken to at Quickstart. Every one of them will leave you in the dark and then completely forget who you are when you try to get in touch again; I had asked staff member Moses about going through a refund process in December and I got a call from him randomly in late January asking how I was doing with the coursework, with him seemingly confused that I was asking for a refund. He had completely forgotten I had even asked.
If you pay in full for the course, you are promised a new HP laptop by Quickstart. This was promised by my coordinator Alex. This is not written ANYWHERE and I had to follow up for weeks in order to actually get one.
After talking to Moses about a refund, I was then sent over to Sam who after weeks of ignoring me said I'd be getting a refund! Except he had me confused with someone else who had paid in installments, as opposed to paying in full. So even the sales team in charge of actual administration work is hopelessly incompetent at solving your problems, will promise you a refund and then say "never mind we had the wrong person."
Last and certainly not least was our instructor who would come into sessions unprepared, sometimes spending the entire 2 hour lecture on debugging and configuring rather than course content (occurred multiple times). He didn't administer our JavaScript textbook until seven (7) weeks after it was supposed to be distributed. He was unorganized and impatient towards students with technical issues or general misunderstandings.
Now after literal months of negotiating a refund, they have offered me this; The chance to re-enroll in their re-vamped bootcamp. Except this would mean that all of my existing credits would be wiped and I'd have to start at zero again, taking the full 6 month period to complete.
If you've read this far, please for your own sake save your money and AVOID QUICKSTART! I had only signed up for this course because it was backed by Texas A&M Kingsville and had no idea Quickstart was not truly affiliated with them (I've had zero correspondence with anyone from Texas A&M). These people will take your money and run away with it. If I can save at least one person from falling into their trap it will have been worth it.
I was in the same cohort as Andrew Dunnam and can verify his experiences. Also, I have a plethora of emails detailing how uncommunicative and uncaring people at multiple levels of this company are and am more than willing to share them with whoever asks.Overall1.0Curriculum1.0Job support1.0Instructors1.0 -

The teacher was great and had a lot of insight because he was actually working in the field. There were also other instructors who helped us with the individual projects. All were available if I had a question or was stuck on a step in a project or a concept in the coursework. I feel like they really care and want us to succeed. I will say, be prepared to study on your own too! Cybersecurity changes quickly. It's a field that requires constant learning. Taking this is not a one and done situation, but it will get you started with a good foundation. I went on to get two certifications!
The career counseling has been amazing! My advisor, Kevin, has helped me with my LinkedIn page, resume, cover letter, and sends me lists of job openings. They advertise as being directly associated with your local College, but I assure you they are NOT! I contacted the college and they told me directly that Quickstart pays them to use their name and that is the ONLY association they have with the school. The school said that in now way do they sponsor or support Quickstart as far as course content, certifications, or responsibility. Again, Quickstart pays colleges around the country to use their name and their name ONLY. Do your research; call the college they claim to represent and they will tell you.
Do they provide Cybersecurity classes? Yes - However, the classes are high disorganized, they provide NO "official" text book study material for the exam, and they will only release learning material on a pre-determined schedule, which the live classes do not follow! The live classes are purely review of the online learning modules that the organization provides, but the classes are rarely given in line with the times that the material is released for you to study. The ONLY official learning material they provide by CompTIA are practice labs for Tech+ and Network+, which don't follow at all with what you're learning in class. You have to figure the labs out completely on your own. You can do purchase this stuff on your own for a lot less money and then use Professor Messer and UDEMY. There are constant technical issues that prevent you from being able to access labs, materials, and submit projects. This is supposedly a tech school, but they can't even figure out their own technology to run the program!
Can the Quickstart classes lead to a CompTIA Security+ certification? Yes, if you're already pretty smart and already working the field. The classes in themselves do provide some learning of Networking and Cybersecurity, if you previously knew nothing. Is it enough to take a difficult exam? HECK NO! They try to ensure that you pass the exam by taking the last couple weeks of the course and doing nothing but going over test material. So you're not paying to become a Cybersecurity Professional, as they advertise. You're paying to learn a little bit about the IT world and to take a test prep class. There are way cheaper and better ways of doing this.
Will they provide employment assistance? Yes, they do provide education on creating a resume, networking, creating a professional profile on LinkedIn. Can you do this on your own? Absolutely! Will a legitimate college provide the exact same assistance? ABSOLUTELY! Every single college out there will do this, and not charge you extra for it. This program is not worth $7k-$8k and once you pay Quickstart, they will under no circumstance refund your money, period. Even the instructors admit to having been scammed and are regularly fighting to get paid by Quickstart. I fell for this scam and I'm trying to help anyone out there to keep them from making the same expensive mistake! Do your learning either on your own using other free or low cost materials you can find online, or find a legitimate program that is directly a part of an accredited college or university. Then after you graduate, you can pay the few hundred dollars to take the CompTIA exam on your own and have a degree and a certification! Not only that, but you'll have more in depth knowledge, in more areas to get more than just one certification, which most companies want you to have anyway.Overall1.0Curriculum1.0Job support3.0Instructors3.0 -

The course is well-organized, with clear, detailed content that covers all the key topics for the Security+ exam. The instructors present information in an engaging and straightforward manner, making even the more complex concepts easier to understand. The bootcamp offers a great variety of resources, including practice tests, study guides, and supplemental materials, which helped me stay on track and gauge my understanding of the material. The pace of the course was challenging but manageable, encouraging me to put in the effort and stay disciplined throughout the program. It’s clear that the bootcamp provides a strong foundation and was there to help me achieving success in the Security+ exam is ultimately up to the individual. It’s a program that demands dedication and commitment, and while it sets you up with the tools and resources, putting in the work and taking responsibility for your learning is essential with guidance of their career services and instructors. A career service provider sent me a new career path of Cybersecurity Ghostwriter in which I have written an article to be finished Grammarly. Looking back on my experience after completing the bootcamp, I can confidently say that QuickStart provided a valuable and structured path. However, the journey was one I had to own fully in order to reach my goals. If you're ready to put in the effort, this bootcamp is a great school to help you get there. Thank you, Quick Start Intelligence. The career services have reviewed resumes and stayed and kept in contact with me to get a career I desire.
