Coding Temple

Coding Temple is a fantastic, immersive, and very personal experience!  The student-to-instructor ratio is amazing at about 6-to-1.  Each day was filled with many hours of learning new technologies and actual coding experience with challenging homework each night and full-fledged weekend projects too.  The instructors were truly committed and have wonderful technical and people skills.  Also, Coding Temple graduates become part of the active alumni community and the training and job seeking assistance continues for life---all included in the original course fee!  I highly recommend Coding Temple to anyone who is interested in pursuing a bootcamp training experience. Coding temple is a fast paced bootcamp. The instructors are very knowledgeable. All of the classes are recorded and it’s nice to be able to go back and rewatch them multiple times. For the past 12 years, I have worked in the Oil and Gas industry. During the pandemic, I took some classes in software development and fell in love with this industry. It was at this moment I decided to take a bootcamp. After extensive research, I decided to attend Coding Temple. It was one of the few bootcamps that offered the option to have instruction from an instructor and worked best with my schedule. This was the best decision I have ever made. I learned so much during the three months at Coding Temple. I can now build full stack applications!! How amazing is that!! With the skillset I acquired at Coding Temple, I was able to land a job as a Software Engineer. I could not have landed it without the amazing instructors at Coding Temple. I learned so much from my instructor, Kevin Beier, who taught me all the skills I needed to make my dream come true. Also, had a great TA, Shoha Tsuchida, who was there to help and answer all of my questions. Also, while you are in the program they offer so much support, especially if you are struggling or need someone to talk it out with. Thanks to Blair Talley!! She helped me and answered all of my questions during my time at the program. She was so helpful! Another great thing about this bootcamp is that after you graduate, you have a career coach for life!! Marlene Tang is the best! She is outstanding at her job. She will not only help you with your resume, but with your LinkedIn profile as well. After she reviewed mine, I was getting 2-5 interviews a week. This truly made a difference!! She also preps you in learning the job interview process (what you should and should not do). Her advice is what helped me land the job!! Thank you Marlene!! After you graduate, you have full access to mock interviews and continuing education lead by Nate Welter and Sam Davitt. They are great at their jobs and will continue to enhance your skillset. I attended Coding Temple after getting a bachelors in a computer science program at a university and I'm very glad that I did.  We covered more ground with hands-on practical programming and theory than we did in my bachelors degree.  College really lacked in experience creating real projects and coding with frameworks.  Coding Temple filled in all the gaps I had from college and gave me a real portfolio to showcase to employers.  While interviewing for jobs, 90% of what was discussed what what I did in the bootcamp, what I made, what I used, and how I did it.  I did not get this in college.  The instructors were fantastic and there is an immense and overwhelming amount of support from them and the other faculty.  The career services offered after graduation are amazing and far exceed what was provided by my university.  Every from resumes to LinkedIn to networking was covered in great detail.  After graduation, there are several weekly workshops covering job searching, data structures and algorithms practice, and trainings in new technologies.  Coding Temple provided more practical knowledge and education than I got through any other avenue.  The only thing that rivals this is working as an intern at a startup.  If you are wondering, like I was, about whether or not this would be worth the money, stop wondering.  It is worth every penny and without this experience, I wouldn't have landed a job making just under 6 figures as a starting salary just weeks after graduating.  Make no mistake, it is very, very, very difficult, stressful, and will consume every moment of you time.  But, the juice is well worth the squeeze so get off the fence and just do it already. This coding bootcamp is awesome. I learned so much throughout, it's an intensive but rewarding bootcamp. It was great learning how to apply the skills I've learned. I really loved the projects we had to complete, as I could use my creativity to add my own flair to them. The 1-1 help was also really great and the instructors were amazing! From the start of the bootcamp to the "end" you were never alone in your new journey. Once enrolled, I was given pre-work that must be completed before the start of your cohort. I was also added to the Coding Temple community through Slack, with many channels. It was reassuring to know I could simply reach out and get assistance from either the instructors, TAs, students, etc. The course work is very fast-paced and we had homework every night. Being dedicated and giving it my all helped me complete all my coursework. My instructor was very kind to answer any and all questions. It is very tough to code-along with the instructor so when I felt I couldn't keep up, I would just watch, listen, and take notes. This helped the information sink in better. The instructor also provided lots of helpful documentation and helpful resources. I saved every link which I was able to refer back to for homework and my final project. There are also student activities to get involved in like: Codewars workshops, algo nights, random trivia recess, etc. Coding Temple also provided night instructors that are available to help with homework and projects after lecture hours. The best part about Coding Temple is the alumni resources, which include career and tech advisors for life! Which is exactly why a put quotes around "end" at the beginning of my review because you are always apart of the Coding Temple community even after you graduate! What an experience! The class pace is fast but manageable, and the course info is geared to make you learn how to think like a programmer so you can take your skill sets across different languages.  My instructors Kevin and Dylan, made sure to make them available at all times.  Could not be more happy with choosing coding temple. I was in the 6 month self-paced program at Coding Temple from April to September 2022. It was a hard road to say the least. A working parent who has most of the responsibility of keeping the house in order because of my wife's schedule put a strain on the 6 months I couldn't have imagined. My instructors were Brandon Apol, Christian Askew and Schardre Dent during the 6 month program. They were always willing to help, but were also able to deflect back to me when it was imperative that I figure it out on my own. I originally was displease because I thought there could be more subject matter taught, especially the stuff that causes the most problems and that isn't the coding part. Looking back now, I realized that its always part of the process to figure things out on your own and the better you are at that, the more valuable you will be in the field. Also, figuring things out on your own gives you a confidence that surpasses any test you could pass and I mean that with certainty. Not only that but you will learn things and have the tools to be successful and you won't even realize it until you do start figuring things out on your own, which is what you will have to do in the field to be successful. I appreciate the effort of my instructors and there help when I needed it the most. I would recommend Coding Temple for anyone desiring to become a computer programmer or anything in the tech field for that matter because of its broad background of subjects covered. I would add however, that being a non-traditional student, this learning environment was very challenging. I believe therein lies the issues of my struggles early on.... teaching myself a lot of things was not what I was used to doing in traditional college/university. I am graduating from Coding Temple in one week, and I have to say it has been an amazing experience since Day 1. The staff have been so welcoming and comforting throughout my journey. I have to give an extra amazing review for my teacher, Lucas. He is SO knowledgeable about the tech world, any question you throw at him, he either knows how to fix your problem instantly or works through your problem with you. Wow, to say that this program is amazing is an understatement! I came into this course with a lack of confidence in my technical abilities, and now I am so proud to say that I've graduated from this program. When I decided to enroll in Coding Temple, I had been job searching for almost seven months with little to no prospects. I began searching for bootcamps and I stumbled upon Coding Temple, and I sure am happy that I did. I had little coding experience heading in, but now I am a full-fledge software developer. The teachers, the other students, the resources, I really couldn't ask for anything better. If you know this is what you want to do, you will find no better place than Coding Temple.

I took the full-time course and I was working part-time through it. It was difficult, I won't lie to you and say it was easy. If you can, try to not have to work and solely focus on the bootcamp. But I promise you, if you work hard and really give it your all, in 10 weeks, you will have the skills to start a whole new career making a whole lot more money (or potential to make a whole lot more money) than whatever you were doing before. I started coding temple late march this year, I went into it not knowing a thing about coding. I really surprised myself with how fast, and how much I was able to learn thanks to my amazing instructors Terrell and Ryan. They made the class very fun and inviting but also very educational. Coding Temple was a great school! I learned a lot in my 10-week program.  It was very challenging. You will put in a lot of hours outside of class, but it is really worth it. They teach you the most up-to-date technology and practices. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, and the support staff are great! You will be expected to put in the work and effort, but they provide a lot of support and help for you when you need it. Everyone is easily accessible, and they actually respond to you when you reach out to them. They provide a ton of job support after you graduate. You have interview support, job search support, resume writing support, weekly coding post-grad class, and continued coding challenges to help you stay up to date on your coding skills.  Read less

I had a great time during my experience at Coding Temple, if you get Brian as your teacher consider yourself lucky. He's a great teacher, very patient and can teach difficult concepts to a brick wall. It is a lot of work, so make sure you have the time. You'll have homework (nearly) every night on top of a full day of class, and your weekend will be filled with a project covering all the topics of that week. I had a little programming experience going in, self taught mostly but nothing too special so the first few weeks went pretty well, but it quickly jumped in complexity and I found myself studying and programming late into the night. 

Overall, I learned more in these 10 weeks than I ever could have on my own and I'm glad I was lucky enough to be in a position to take this course. Read less

If you're looking for a bootcamp that not only provides you with the resources to be successful but also gives you a sense of belonging, look no further! My instructors Ryan and Terrell were the absolute best. They were very patient with everyone in our cohort and extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention there was never a dull moment with them two. 

After graduation, you are also provided with the resources that teach you how to successfully look for a job in the tech world. Marlene, the alumni director, is a rock star! She will provide you with valuable feedback and will tell you things the way they are, no sugar coating.

Coding Temple was a great way for me to finish off my self teaching in computer programming.  Even though I have very good discipline, this really forced me to put in the work and to really learn in a fast world environment. You will learn a lot in a little time but you will learn how to problem solve and figure things out regardless of the language(JavaScript, Python, SQL...etc).  I was able to land a job months after graduating thanks to their outstanding after grad program, this for me was a great help.  I learned to write and create resumes, cover letters, talk with recruiters and possible employers about my abilities and myself.  Then I continued my learning with more classes about algorithms and interview challenges that the school offers all while bouncing ideas off of other cohorts.        Read less

I didn't want a program that was set up as a bunch of videos to watch with no real support. I could get that from YouTube. So when I was researching the different bootcamp options out there, I liked that Coding Temple offered an instructor. Most did for full-time/in-person courses but CT also offers instructor support in their Self-Paced program. The instructor was extremely helpful when I ran into issues or needed a bit more explanation on various things we were learning. The assignments were engaging, dare I say FUN and challenged you to truly apply what you were learning in the course. Once you finish the bootcamp, you then have a whole new support system in their Alumni team who help with resume building, application processes, and interview support - both technical and in general. I had learned some coding and SQL basics before I started the bootcamp experience. This full stack course took it to a whole another level. I was challenged and push which is what I like in order to learn and retain information. Not only were we held accountable, and it forced me to think outside that box which is rare for me as I find challenges fairly easy. I liked the course challenged me every day and I was able to solve and learn things I didn't think about. Other than the teaching aspect, I loved sources were provided.
