    Amazing and Fun Experience

The entire experience was just a blast for me. Learning more about how data works and how to analyze said data alongside my classmates really helped instill a lasting impression and is helping me towards sticking to a data heavy career path. The only thing I wished to happen more in class was more interaction with people outside of our immediate table group, but otherwise the classes were fun and informative and our instructor Moe was very approachable, which helped with asking him questions about the content.

    Accessible, challenging, inspiring!

I was initially intimidated to undertake this course because of my lack of experience in this immediate field of design. I was relieved upon arriving to find a real mix of people with a range of experience, so I didn't feel so out of place.

We started with an overview of design thinking, gaining an understanding of the key principles underpinning UX design, as well as a bit of the history of how it has developed, and closely related fields and roles such as UI, product design etc.

My favourite thing about the course was the tutor's continuous encouragement of the class to offer opinions and ideas to engage with the content. I think this is really important when using a 'crash course' format. They created a relaxed atmosphere, and I think we were lucky to have 2 such experienced tutors whose experience we could draw on.

Absorbing all of the content was a big challenge, and I would advise anyone doing the course to make sure you have a bit of time booked in near the end to complete the presentation assignment.

In the final class, I really enjoyed hearing everyone's project concepts, and all though it was slightly nerve-wracking, I think that presenting our work gave us the best experience of the authentic job of a UX designer. I think it gave a flavour of how one might be able to enter the industry, and a good platform to begin a new career journey if you want to.

    A career pivot bootcamp

The Brainstation UX Design Bootcamp was an intensive training program focused on hands-on, project-based learning.
The skills and knowledge needed for me to become a UX designer (such as user research, and information architecture) also taught industry-standard tools and software such as Figma to wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.

I was pleased to attend the program's curriculum which allowed me to apply their newly acquired skills to real-world projects.
Additionally,  the instructors were experienced professionals and knowledgeable about the industry and provided valuable insights into the field. It was a great place to create networking opportunities and connect with other professionals in the field.
The program was intense and demanding as it was reaching the Final project deadline, requiring a significant time commitment, time, and a lot of effort.

Cost-wise, the program was totally worth it, overall, the Brainstation UX Design Bootcamp was a valuable investment in my career.
I definitely recommend it for those looking to break into the UX design field or enhance their skills.

    Great experience, definitely worth it

It's an intense 12 weeks you're in for but an amazing experience. You're learning a curriculum that might otherwise take a year or 2 at university. Great instructors and campus environment. Lots of hands-on experience with the assignments and your final capstone project. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to make the switch to data science.

    INtenst and fantastic

The camp was great. It's very intense, so I recommend reading ahead first, and doing some prep work on Python and SQL programming, but they cover everything you need if you're dilligent. The instructors look after you. They kept me on track when IO  lagged behind. They also do lot's of career development.

Lots of time but lots of value

I signed up to this course because UX Design is something i've been doing for some years in my day-job as a product manager but it's happened organically and i had no formal qualifications in the area. The course felt quite intense, there is a lot of reading and 'homework' to fit in around a busy day job in a short space of time. And getting to grips with Figma (not having used it before) was tough, but i'm so pleased i did it. It's given me a lot of confidence in the work i do and the reasoning behind many of the decisions i have to make on a daily basis. Watching my classmates' final presentations was also fascinating, some of them were definitely the seeds of brilliant future digital solutions.

    Amazing experience

It was hard to decide whether do the bootcamp or not, there are a huge quantity of information on internet about different paths to become a data scientist. I definitely learnt a lot and now I know how keep learning this field, I am very happy about my decision and I'm starting my job searching. So far, I think to do the on person bootcamp was an excellent decision, great time, great teachers, great management and such a perfect environment to learn.

    UX Design Bootcamp | In-Person | Toronto | Full-Time

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the FULL-TIME UX Bootcamp program. To further expand on my experience, there were several things that I particularly enjoyed, as well as a few opportunities for improvement:

    Positives:

    • Instructors: The instructors were experts in their field, and I particularly appreciated Kelly's no-nonsense approach and helpfulness.
    • Community: The community was a highlight of the program, and meeting so many interesting people was worth the investment and choosing the in-person option.
    • Demo Day: This was a fantastic opportunity to develop presentation skills and expand my network.

    Areas for improvement:

    • Submission expectations: It would be helpful to receive clearer guidance on the format of submissions, as it often felt like instructors were on different pages. Providing extra guidance on presentation deck formats, as well as real-world presentation deck formats, from the beginning would be appreciated.
    • Design systems / Figma skills: While the program covered a lot of ground, I feel that more time could be dedicated to creating components, variations, and auto layouts. As far as I understand so far, these are essential skills for junior designers to have a solid grasp of.
    • Employment rates: The program claimed a 90% employment rate, but this seems to be outdated and simply not true. While it is possible to find a position, it takes time, and company claims of high employment rates should be taken with a grain of salt.

    Suggestions for future students:

    • TAKE A FIGMA COURSE PRIOR TO BOOTCAMP. I saw many students struggling to get a grasp of Figma for many weeks.
    • Prepare to put in work. Like, real work. Will get your money's worth.
    • If you are an introvert / get anxious about big crowds and being around many folks every single day - maybe consider online or, even better, get comfortable with being uncomfortable and practice being around people.
    • Get familiar with the design process prior to taking the boot camp.
    • Start thinking about the topic/problem space for your capstone in advance. You will be given a week to come up with a problem space which is very little. Bonus point if you choose an area you are passionate about and would potentially want to work in a similar field.

Overall, I would recommend the full-time program for individuals without many life commitments who can commit 10+ hours a day to the program. This is the best way to get the most out of the experience.

    Great high-intensity DS bootcamp

Does a great job at teaching a lot in a relatively short timeframe. Do not underestimate the intensity of this bootcamp, it is very intense, particularly in the middle 8 weeks. The instructors are great and bring a lot of real-world experience to the table. The career-help is good, but does tend to have quite an "American" view to it, which can contrast what you understand about how the UK job market works.

Overall a fantastic experience and incredibly valuable.

    Challenging but incredibly rewarding

I left a career in structural engineering to make the switch to data science. I was slightly skeptical of the BootCamp formula before I started. However, I was incredibly impressed with the content, in terms of the breadth of topics covered, and the depth we went into. The instructors were very helpful throughout, bringing great energy to every class. They taught the content in such a way that any prerequisite knowledge was not required. The capstone project was a real highlight for me and is very rewarding to own a data science project from start to finish. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering a career change.

    BrainStation Web Development Certificate Course

I just completed the BrainStation Web Development Course online which was led by Jim Rectenwald and Yathan, SE's at instagram and slack. I took the course to get familiar with HTML and CSS as a UX Designer. My overall experience was positive. The instructors were very approachable, welcome to answering questions, and were responsive to messages. The curriculum itself was well structured so that we could eventually learn how to code a responsive website for our final project by teaching us how to use flexbox, media queries, and modifier classes in stages during class activities every week. Only thing were the slides are a bit confusing to understand but attending class mostly helps. At the end I felt I had a good introduction to HTML and CSS and if I wanted to pursue a career in it, I would want to continue with other courses to further develop my skills.

    Data Analytics with Practical Application

As someone who's been working in product for several years, I was looking to expand my skill set and gain a better understanding of data analytics. That's why I decided to take the course at BrainStation, and I'm glad I did.

The curriculum was designed with practical application in mind, which was perfect  as I was looking to apply what I learned to real-world scenarios. The course covered a wide range of topics, including basic data analysis and visualization techniques.  I appreciated the emphasis on understanding not just how to analyze data, but how to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

The instructors were fantastic -  industry professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience. They were patient, helpful and made sure to answer any questions we had.

    Transformative Data Science Bootcamp

I recently completed BrainStation's Data Science Online Bootcamp and I must say that it was an incredible experience. The instructors were fantastic and truly went above and beyond to ensure that all students were able to grasp the concepts and materials covered in the program. Their depth of knowledge and experience in the industry really shone through in their teaching.

The curriculum was very comprehensive and relevant to the current job market, which is crucial when investing time and money into a program like this. I appreciated how the program incorporated both theory and practical application, giving us a well-rounded understanding of data science.

One aspect that really stood out to me was the Career Accelerator Program. It was incredibly helpful in providing guidance and support throughout the job search process. From resume and cover letter reviews to mock interviews, this program really helped me feel confident and prepared for my job search.

The hands-on experience we gained throughout the program was invaluable. We worked on real-world projects that allowed us to apply what we had learned in a practical setting. This not only gave us a better understanding of the material, but also provided us with tangible deliverables to showcase to potential employers.

Overall, I highly recommend BrainStation's Data Science Online Bootcamp. The instructors, curriculum, career accelerator program, and hands-on experience all come together to create a truly valuable and purposeful learning experience.

    Immediately Actionable Insights

I found myself taking what I learned in class and immediately looking for implementation opportunities at work. After every class, I would message my teammates on insights we could leverage. Digital marketing is a very wide field but the small class size made it easy for my instructors to tailor the material to our businesses and areas of interest for each of the subjects covered. A huge shoutout to my instructors, Felipe & Sarah, for sharing their professional experiences, both good and bad, to highlight the application of the concepts taught in class.

    The right place

I recently completed the Product Management Program and it was an incredible experience! The course provided a comprehensive overview of the product management lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond. Both instructors were extremely knowledgeable and engaging. I learned so much through the interactive lectures, real-world case studies, and hands-on projects. A highlight was building the MVP of a platform dedicated to enhancing Communal Living experiences - it really helped me apply the concepts and think like a product manager. Overall, Brainstation's Product Management course is a fantastic way to gain the skills and mindset needed to become a product leader. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a career as a product manager or in my case, as a UX/UI Designer, to have a global perspective, control and understanding of all the interiorities of a product. The skills I learned in this course will be invaluable for my future professional life. Thank you Brainstation for an amazing learning experience!
