    Loved the experience!

Being committed to continuous learning,  I like to do thorough research on available options to ensure I invest my time and money efficiently and I'm so glad I decided to take the Data Analytics course (online version) at Brainstation.

To be honest, I was a little hesitant in choosing the online class instead of in-person one, but all my doubts went away after the first class. The instructor, Mike Lake is a superb teacher. He's highly experienced, knowledgeable, engaging and patient. He made sure we all got a solid foundation of Excel, SQL, and Tableau by doing tons of hand-on exercises in class. Also, I felt that the curriculum itself was very thought through.

I highly recommend the Data Analytics course taught by Mike Lake. :)

    Great learning experience!

At the end of last year, I took the decision of improving my digital skills and move forward to a new direction on my career path. While I was researching what would be the course that I wanted to take, where would be the place, and how I could be able to study while I was working full-time I had the best luck of founding Brainstation and I was not wrong on choosing them! My learning experience has been extraordinary, my instructors were not only great professionals in the industry but also high-skilled in new trends and tools, always there to answer any questions or doubts and great at encouraging us to learn more and more every day. I love finding professionals who truly love their jobs! My learning experience was A+++ and I am definitely coming back to start a new course. Thank you Brainstation! .3te2m022

Learned so much in the Data Science Course

I decided to enrol in the Data Science course because I am with a Digital Health Startup and we are starting to look at data models and interpreting a lot of the data that's available out there. I really enjoyed all the learnings and it was easy enough to take online (about 10 of us in the online class). It was even better that the instructors are all working in the industry and so could apply the ideas and concepts to real world examples of what's going on in finance and health. Within 10 weeks I had a knowledge on how to approach business challenges with a lens of using data to understand the problem and to look for trends and patterns within datasets.
I was told by one of the Brainstation advisors previously that it is recommended that you have some knowledge of python or SQL so that you can focus more on the concepts and how to execute the functions you needed on the data. If I did this course over, I would  take a python course first. If you're an independent learner and want to dive right in, just be prepared to add some additional hours of homework for yourself to practice.
    Worth it!

    UX Design Review

I had a great time learning UX Design over a 10 week period at BrainStation.

As someone working on a startup project, my team and I recognized that our product needed to incorporate UX principles early on in order for us to do well with our target customers. By joining BrainStation, I was able to learn a variety of UX topics such as testing, rapid prototyping, and accessibility in-depth. Being able to learn & apply these concepts and getting frequent feedback from my peers and instructor (an industry professional) was hugely beneficial to my startup team's product.

This was actually my second time taking a certificate at BrainStation. The first time was in person for Product Management. This time however, I decided to enrol in the online offering for UX Design. It is the first time I've taken a class in this format but it was a great experience. BrainStation has set up the online classroom in a way where you can still learn together as a class but also preserve the group session experience but organizing smaller break out rooms when needed. All from the comfort of your own home.

If you are looking to upgrade your skills during this time of social distancing, BrainStation is an excellent option.

    Data Analytics course review

I had an amazing experience during a 10 weeks long Data Analytics course at Brainstation. I decided to go with online learning, and it turned out to be a really good choice because their platform is so well organized that it makes learning and communication with the instructor very easy. And when talking about the instructor, I was extremely satisfied to know that I am learning from an expert in the field, who was able to provide a real-life examples from his work and show us how to use data analytics techniques in everyday decision making.
Brainstation’s Data Analytics course focus on teaching general data analytics frameworks and data visualization, but also more specific skills like advanced excel, SQL (starting from basic and then moving to more advanced queries), and Tableau.
I recommend this course to anyone interested in learning the basics of data analytics, but also to anyone who wants to level up existing data analytics skills.

    Digital Marketing

I entered this course looking to level up my digital marketing skills, deepen my understanding of some key marketing levers and to (hopefully) make the transition from freelance to in-house.

I was a bit nervous looking over the course curriculum in Synapse on week one, but the instructors did an incredible job of using real-life working examples that brought the information to life making it easy to follow. The classes were held virtually via Zoom and were super easy to join and navigate. I would recommend having two monitors for any virtual classes, that way you can ensure you're not missing any info shared in the class Slack channel while watching the presentation on another screen.

Each week our knowledge grew and our class discussions became more and more interesting and engaging. The personal highlights for me were the SEO and SEM weeks, our instructor's industry experience made these weeks a real game-changer.

By week ten I came out of this class with a steller digital marketing pitch, new skills, a renewed passion for the industry, a bigger network AND a new career. This course helped me land a new job in an industry I've been trying to break into for some time and I can't wait to apply my new skills on day one.

Shout out to BrainStation for a steller team and overall really great learning experience!

Learned a ton and had fun!

The digital marketing course at Brainstation was great! It was all encompassing and the instructors had great industry examples to complement the course material. It felt like a lot in the beginning but it really came together in the final project.

Seeing the final project come together and using all the knowledge we learned was a great experience - it really felt like I was creating a pitch deck for a digital agency.

The only thing that I felt could be improved was the group project selection process. I'm lucky that I got matched with a really smart and eager group but I've heard of other groups having difficulties with team dynamics.

All in all, I'm feeling very confident coming out of this course that I can use my new knowledge in the workplace.

    Really Enjoyed this Course!

The Bootcamp I took was in person and the class size was just right - about 15 students. I loved that it was a diverse group - not only in age and ethnicities - but all different career backgrounds! Some people had never done any type of work like this and by the time we got to the final projects absolutely everyone had a grasp on all of the concepts we went over in class and how to apply them to their project - it was very inspiring to see. The teachers, Jenna and Kirsten were always available not only during class but at any time on our slack channel. I truly appreciated their energy and passion for teaching and working with us on our projects. It was great to hear real-life examples of issues we may run into when working in a UX role and how we can use what we have learned to make good decisions for the business we work with. I look forward to continuing learning with BrainStation and attending industry events they have. I have taken a few other courses in-person in  NYC area and this was by far the best experience.

    My love story with Brainstation

I have taken 2 courses at Brainstation:
    - the UX Design course (part time) on the Toronto campus
    - the UI Design course (part time) online.
With only 30 hours of class each, these classes will give you enough knowledge and practice to learn how to learn everything on your own !

The first course allowed me to do a complete career change, I switched to a UX role  right after the course and after 1 year, I was confident enough to quit my job and work as a freelancer. I always found jobs easily and was able to apply the skills I learned in my day-to-day work.
I was happy to come back to school for the UI course because it was complementary from what I had learned previously and because I trust their education process.

Brainstation is focussed on delivering a maximum value to student in a minimal time, their courses are focussed on practical exercises, and their content is always up-to-date with the latest industry trends.

I would recommend these courses to anyone interested in working as a UX/UI designer

(* however, I think the class on campus adds a lot more value than the online class, because of all the interactions we get with other students and the teacher)

    Data Analytics - Online

I love the process of lifetime learning.  Website design, marketing and now data analytics courses over the last few years have made me an alumnus at BrainStation. I never set out to be a specialist in any one of these certificates, however, as a generalist I knew I needed to keep learning, but with a full-time job, it was difficult to find the right kind of environment. BrainStation has fit the bill perfectly. Part-time classes made it easy to attend after work once a week. The Toronto Campus/Quantum Coffee, Slack channels and Zoom gave me all the tools I needed.
The instructors have all been fantastic - each one of them worked in the field and have practical & theoretical experience in the subject matter. They are great teachers and made the concepts very approachable. Having support during class but also on Slack provides all of the group and 1:1 needed.
BrainStation campus staff guided me along a learning path that fit with my professional life and made it possible to learn and grow. This has allowed me to move professionally in a direction in which I could add value differently to my organization.
I  recommend BrainStation to all of my personal and professional relationships.  I am very supportive of this innovative environment that helps lifelong learning in a non-traditional role.

Amazing Experience Doing the Full Stack Course

I am so happy that I chose to do THIS course in Miami (coming from Canada)... What made my experience so amazing was the nonstop support where the staff didn't LET ME fall off my game. They keep you motivated and provide you so much more than just an amazing curriculum, they provide you with a coding community that doesn't just end after the course. The curriculum is amazing for people who struggle with traditional classes by incorporating code-alongs, tons of labs, games, weekend and night support, extra resources, and lecturers/ta's who go the extra measure by constantly iterating the class experience for you.

    Product Management Online Live

I am currently enrolled in the Product Management Online Live part-time course. With a background in startup marketing, I was excited to learn more about Product Management. Having worked remote before, making the move to a fully online course was easy. The course was well set-up to support those new to online collaboration - we used Zoom, with video, participation chats, as the breakout room project to work on group discussions. Using Slack also let us connect throughout the week. In terms of content, this course gave a strong overview of the parts of Product Management - from MVP to Success Metrics, User Stories and Target Market. I would recommend this course not only for those looking to move into a PM role, but also for those in marketing, success/support, development, or any part of a startup or tech company who is looking to move into more of a strategic role. Thank you Partho and the Brainstation team!

Best decision I've made for my UX education and career!

I just completed the User Experience Design program at BrainStation TO, and I could not be happier with my experience with both the school and my instructor, Jonathan.

I decided to do the online live course. Before my first class, I was a little worried about being in an online classroom setting. I wondered if I would be able to connect with my instructor and classmates in the same way, or if the communication would be as open as it would be in a physical classroom setting. It turns out that I had nothing to worry about. BrainStation's format for learning is effective, enjoyable, and seamless. The tools we used (Slack, Zoom, BrainStation's learning platform Synapse) all made for a simple and hassle-free experience.

My instructor Jonathan fostered a very open and comfortable environment for learning. He provided us with real-world examples, allowed us to test out tools and new concepts, and provided us with real-time feedback in a way that was constructive and encouraging. We learned quickly, but the pace never felt too fast or too slow.

The curriculum (and Jon's style of teaching) set us up for a solid foundation for starting a career in UX. I gained a lot of confidence in my UX skills, and instead of being intimidated by the field, I feel empowered to continue learning and exploring this exciting discipline.

    User Experience Design Diploma (Full-time)

Taking the User Experience Design program is probably one of my highlights in 2019. I had the chance to develop the mindset of a UX designer, improve on my UI design skills and most importantly, I learned to expand my industrial connection, which includes all of the wonderful people at BrainStation. 12 weeks of intense workload along with many sleepless nights, I graduated BrainStation, more passionated and motivated than ever.

If you're reading this review and still wondering whether you should take the program or not, listen to me and go for it. Consider it as a wise investment for your future if you're interested in the creative industry.
