Turing College

I have been a Web Development student at TC for 6 months, I am currently halfway through the course.

After researching different programs, their curricula, and student satisfaction, I came across Turing College.

I applied for a scholarship and encountered a smooth interview process, with the Staff being helpful and responsive, which immediately left a great first impression.
When I got accepted for the scholarship, I was worried that I might have gotten myself into a scam, as it simply seemed too good to be true!

My experience with TC has honestly been nothing short of amazing.
It was no problem to delay the start of my studies to a time that suited me better as I had to re-organise my existing responsibilities.


What I enjoy at Turing College:

Self-paced learning:
I can organise my learning time around my responsibilities, I have the opportunity to attend open sessions or senior open sessions to discuss ideas or problems I encounter.
It is very fair that you can extend deadlines and have extension days, applying for extensions for varying reasons has been smooth for me.

A well-curated curriculum:
The curriculum covers a lot of relevant topics with the opportunity to dive deeper into topics of interest.
Building projects lets you put your theoretical knowledge into practice and helps you understand them better.
I have friends who are senior developers and they were impressed by the things I am learning.

Project Reviews:
The opportunity to have my projects reviewed by senior devs who work at really cool companies, their feedback is incredible and it simulates a real-world environment. It also gives me confidence in how to present my projects and interact with industry professionals, strengthening my technical communication.

Peer Reviews:
I have learned a lot by reviewing my peers' projects and had incredible reviews from other learners. It is great to see different solutions and compare how I decided to implement things or solve problems. It showed me that there are many ways and angles how to approach a task.

Support:
My experience interacting with TC staff has been great, they are always friendly and helpful. Studying remotely, I value that they are highly responsive and don't leave me hanging for days or "forget" about any questions I need answering.

I do not have anything negative to say from my experience. The only thing I miss is not having the ability to meet up with peers or seniors in real life, obviously, that option is there if you live in Lithuania.

I obviously cannot give any feedback on anything job-related like mock interviews and interview prep and how the support will be when I reach this stage.

It is a competitive market for junior developers, but I have confidence, that the skills and knowledge I learn at TC will result in a solid foundation to change careers and find my first junior position next year.

I'm currently studying at Turing College, where I've chosen the Data Science course. I selected this course because it is the most challenging and comprehensive, encompassing not only data science but also data analytics and data engineering. I would rate my experience at Turing College a 9 out of 10. Some projects can be extremely challenging given the material provided, and at times, there is a lack of practical tasks, with too much emphasis on reading, which can become monotonous. However, I chose Turing College because, as a self-taught programmer, I often found self-learning difficult. The structured support and motivation I receive from Turing College have been invaluable in helping me push my boundaries and achieve the skills needed to change my career path. Read less

Oppurtunities to learn previous modules due to peer-to-peer review system of projects, also if wanted, becoming Junior Team Lead where you have sessions which are joined by learners to clarify their questions. I studied Data Analytics course in Turing College. At first I was skeptical at all the good reviews, however I learned quite quickly, that they're all true. The learning program is project and self study based, so you have to learn how to do things by yourself, but don't worry - there's always someone there to help you if you needed it: you can join online calls with senior students or even industry professionals and ask for help if you're stuck somewhere, and there's hundreds of students who are always willing to help and guide you along the way. The community is just incredible. The studies are hard, but they're really enjoyable and fun! If anyone is interested in Turing College, definitely give it a shot, you won't regret it! Read less

I chose Turing College to kickstart my career in Digital Marketing field and it has been an amazing experience so far. Learning new things sometimes feels really challenging but it is good that we can always attend open sessions to discuss difficulties and questions with field experts and peers.

I’m happy that besides the informative content and the ability to learn from experts, I’m also improving my personal skills. To get the most out of the program you need to dedicate yourself fully, plan your time well, and not get discouraged when things don’t go as planned. The college helps with this by providing tips for self-paced and individual learning.

I really like the style of learning here. The tasks are practical and let you apply what you've learned from theory.

I am thrilled to have been able to participate in Turing College's Data Analytics course. The courses were interesting and helpful in expanding my understanding of the field of data.

All students were guaranteed to be well-organized and to know precisely when to complete and turn in their projects according to the course format, which was broken up into sprints with defined deadlines. Every project was put through a rigorous review procedure, which was conducted by a peer, and Senior Team Lead (STL). Before going on to the next sprint, this two-tier review method made sure that the work was of the highest caliber and that everyone understood the subject matter.

One of the highlights of my experience at Turing College was the sense of community. I met many new friends who shared my passion for data. We regularly exchanged thoughts on our projects, job opportunities, and data insights, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Additionally, Turing College offered priceless career assistance. They provided opportunities to get endorsed, including introduction and technical part of employment interview preparation. I feel so much more confident and prepared to go on the job market because of this help.

I started the course in autumn of 2023, and while the workload is big, the experience is amazing. The course is very well structured, teachers are super helpful and knowledgable. You will get not only data knowledge, but also industry insights and hands on practice with real data.

Turing College is for those who has inner motivation for studying, as you have to do a lot of studying individually. The tasks are like real-life / real-bussiness problems, which helps you to prepare for your future work. 

However, one of the most useful part of the TC is peer reviews. As a student, you receive and give peer reviews to others with the main goal of helping other student to improve the task. It's a great way to get more in-deph view to the topic and see different approaches to the same tasks.

You also get reviews from Senior Team Leads, who are people, working in a DA field, who share their own real-life experiences and share a lot of tips&tricks. 

I am not event sure, if I am going to change my career into Data Analytics, but I very much enjoy the process of studying there.

Studying at Turing College has been so far a very nice experience. The course is self-paced, which is great for those working too but allows each student to learn at his rhythm. There are theoretical materials that help to get the concept of each module (and that continue being reviewed and updated), but what I enjoy the most, and think it's very helpful to learn, is that each sprint of each module ends with a project design. During the project development, the student has the chance to notice things that were not understood and to get practical skills. During the week there are various Zoom sessions to participate and ask questions, or ask for help. At the end of each sprint, each project is reviewed by a peer and a senior professional. This last part has been really helpful because I get to talk to a professional and he gets to correct my project. Although the studies are online, I feel a great sense of community, and there are a lot of people, including other students ahead on the course to help.  Read less

I have been studying a Data Analytics course at Turing College for more than half a year already. And I can say, that the overall experience is great. I learned a lot of useful new things, and I also deepened my knowledge of already familiar topics. Now I am starting to look into a problem from an analytical approach. How much you will learn in each topic depends on you: the college gives you the basics (also some additional materials), but how much time you will spend searching on your own or deepening your knowledge in each topic depends on you. I appreciate the Turing College staff's approach to courses, they take feedback and comments into account and often update materials based on student recommendations and feedback. Great college, great courses and extremelly difficult tasks, so you should be ready to use a lot of time to get tasks done. But that is a way of learning. Turing College involved consuming theoretical material and right away implementing it through practical tasks, leaving me with confidence for real life tasks and several portfolio projects I can showcase! The curriculum is not perfect, but it's staff is always improving it based on learners feedback. Where topics aren't 100% fully covered - Senior Team Leads and peers more than make up for it, whether through Open Sessions through Zoom or Discord server. The most unique part for me: doing code reviews for other peers is part of the experience at Turing College. You practice reviewing code and giving feedback to other people, while also getting the chance to see how other students solved the same problems and learn form their solutions!If you are proactive and responsible with your time - you'll do well in Turing College, even if you don't have a strong IT background! Turing College is a perfect platform to start a journey in Data Analytics, the program ensures a smooth transition for those who seek change in their careers. Introduction to the course is very smooth getting you acknowledged with backbone of DA and providing you with enough confidence and motivation to move on to more difficult & challenging topics. The sprints are well structure, the learning materials are relevant and frequently updated. I found Turing College methodology incredibly effective to learn new material. You start by studying the material at your own pace as there are no classes with specific schedule you need to attend. Then you'll build a concrete project related to the subject you've juste learned. Finally you'll have to correct other peers project, making you the teacher for a bit.
This method allow you to recall the material multiple times and correcting the others projects are a perfect way to discover new ways of accomplishing the same task.
Overall the course is challenging but feasible if you have the drive to learn new things. Read less

In Turin College you are a member of a great community.  Here you can get help if you need it. You interact with inspiring professionals in your field. I like the whole learning model - flexibility, personal attention, real work experience.

This is a very practical "Digital Marketing and Analytics" course that dispels the previously acquired "must feel the customer" experience. No myths. These are very specific, intensive courses that require a lot of time and attention, but practical tasks can be completed while realizing the marketing goals of your company or the company where you work.
