Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, healthcare, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.

To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.

Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a Money-Back Guarantee.

Springboard’s support does not end when students graduate. All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Since Springboard was founded in 2013, 94% of eligible graduates secured a job within one year, earning an average salary increase of $26,000.

    UI/UX Design Career Track

The cost of this bootcamp definitely deterred me in the beginning. And while I was in the middle of my bootcamp during quarantine, Google came out with a free UX course. But I thought about it and I realized there are a lot of free resources online to learn UI/UX skills. However, I think the 1:1 mentor calls, career coaching, projects that you get to put in your portfolio are worth it. And it's not easy to figure out what you don't know. Springboard hires mentors and teaches you things you couldn't learn in a class or on your own. You have people with real world experience to give you an edge over the plethora of people graduating with design majors.

    Pros
-teaches you all the latest skills you need
-gives you access to resources during the bootcamp that you normally couldn't get
    -1:1 mentoring
    -Career coaching
    -mock interviews
    -works with your situation
-Peer reviews, Mentor review, and hiring manager review for all of your work
-mentor is genuinely there to help you
    -Job guarantee

    Cons
    -cost
-more intense than your average bootcamp

This program stands out because it offers an mentor who is an industry expert to help guide you through the course.  It also does a good job at teaching you how to “think” like a data analyst while still providing a strong foundation in all the technical skills

Springboard was a wonderful experience, and it gave me a solid foundation in UX Design. My mentor and the Industry Design Project at the end definitely were the best parts of the course. I do think that there is still a lot to learn in the field after completing the course, but it gave me a solid foundation to build upon. I also like the continued career coaching after the course was completed.

While career services could use improvement, the curriculum, mentors, and internship portions are stellar.

Springboard was a fun, enjoyable experience that improved my skills in measurable ways. The mentorship, internship, and curriculum aspects of the program were wonderful, and I've truly enjoyed my experience. The job assistance/career coaching elements are the weak link. New college grads who don't have a lot of experience on the job market may need to advocate for coaches' energies, as there's a mix of stellar, adequate, and absentee career coaches on the roster. For me though, this is not a deal breaker. Learning the right skills is the biggest reason to pursue a bootcamp, and Springboard excels in that.

TL;DR - While career services could use improvement, the curriculum, mentors, and internship portions are stellar.

    Great Online Experience!

I'm a new grad exploring possible opportunities in tech. I initially wanted to learn data science because coding has always been something I wanted to learn. It's a lot like trying to solve a rubix cube, but I could just never understand the cube. I approached Springboard like any other bootcamp. This is my 3rd program in learning data science in python. First off, I love how timely everything was, organized, from the outreach and communication. Wonderful. The course was very easy to navigate. You'll find no issues here because almost everything is there for you. Just commit! Be ready to challenge your mind! Have fun with coding! Sure wish we weren't in a pandemic, would've loved to visit the office and meet the other cohort members.

Thorough camp, worth the time invested

I feel like I learned everything under the sun as far as basic UX Design. The course touches on a bunch, but the projects go deep into it all. The downfall of working at your own pace/alone is having to do all of the stuff yourself. You can get help form your mentor or connect with other people in your class/the bootcamp via Slack, so you're not totally alone.

You also get access to career coaches, student advisors, and office hours, so the support system is good. You just have to have the time and motivation to commit to the work and push through the walls you might hit. Definitely worth the money and the time commitment, especially with the job guarantee

    Data Science Track

I enrolled in Springboard's Data Science track with the intention of making a career transition from Growth Marketing to DS. Going in I had some prior experience with statistics, experimental design and a tiny bit of coding. Being such an enormously broad field, I had struggled trying to learn on my own before. Springboard is structured in a way that builds on concepts overtime, mostly in a logical progression, which really helped me see how everything 'clicked' together. On top of the course structure, the mentor calls were wonderful! My mentor was always able to answer any questions that I had and provided me with tips and more real-world scenarios to practice for future career prep. While I'm only a month out from graduating, my experience was extremely positive. I was a bit unsure being taught 100% online, however, I never felt left 'out in the cold.' There was always someone available to provide help any time I needed. On top of the curriculum, the career support / advice has been a tremendous help.

    Success!

Springboard was great! Good structure (slightly clumsy curriculum with Power BI & Tableau, but plenty of ways to supplement that) that made me feel confident interviewing. But the best part was the mentorship and the career help. I landed a new job before I finished, and I'm so happy. My mentor gave me great feedback during the time and was key in my success with the coursework. Springboard is very supportive and will really work with you to ensure you come out of the program with great results. Lots of work, but worth it if you're needing a fresh start.

    Data Analytics

This course was such a benefit to me as I needed advanced Excel skills, and some math (statistics fundamentals) as well as refresh my SQL and Python skills. The only thing I would change would be to add more practice in each skill set. The mentors and slack group were extremely beneficial as well as career coaching.

    Data Engineering Career Track

I'm an alum on the first class of the Data Engineering Career Track - SF and it was a great experience. There are MANY projects and activities that really make you sharpen your skills to work as a data engineer in "real-life". The mentor is a key player during the journey. My mentor was very knowledgeable and thoughtful during our calls. Giving me constructive feedback on my projects and tips on real-life data engineer's challenges. The curriculum is also super complete. When looking for a job opportunity, I haven't seen a job posting requiring skills not covered in the curriculum.

    Great experience, highly recommend it

    Overall Great Experience

I recently graduated from the Springboard Data Analytics career track, and I would rate it an 8 out of 10 stars. I would say if you don't think you're self-disciplined enough, or won't have the time to dedicate to your studies, then reconsider taking as most of the curriculum topics are hard and 6-months is a short timeframe to really learn them. However, the bootcamp tries hard to set you up with the resources and mentorship needed to carry through.
