Nucamp

I chose Nucamp because of its affordability compared to other coding bootcamps.  What I liked most is the flexibility it has in being able to work the coursework around your every day life errands.

I chose the price, the extensive programs that are used more frequently as I understood it from my tutors in the past and my friend who is a web developer for a large company. I also chose it, so I can sit in class, but alas Covid-19 decided to be a homewrecker and mess up 2020. I compared your company to Savvy Coders in Chattanooga. They were too much and too fast. 

They claim you can learn full stack in 12 weeks. I don't see how that is practical in the real world where we as adults got a ton of things to do! They have fewer programs too. Such as, HTML5, Basic Markdown, Agile, CSS3, JavaScript, Interacting with the DOM, Firebase, Node/ Node Express, Mongo DB, Git&Github,UX/UI, and Heroku. Like I said I am a skeptic to learn all of that in 12 weeks. How about people who are slow learners or slow readers?
 There are so many questions about them. Like yes, they have a scholarship but the catch is you don't have to pay them back until you are hired. Well, what if you can't find a job? Covid-19 has created thousands of jobs being loss. I don't want to owe money when I can't even make money. 
What if you want to start freelancing? It takes time to build clientele.  I've talked to them and I didn't like what they offered. They just started their full stack recently. I don't think new programs are ideal because they are still figuring all the bugs and protocols. FYI, I am not bashing Savvy Coders. It's just not for me. Maybe if you don't have the time twelve weeks is right for you. 
 So, that is my reason. Your company is willing to work with Veterans such as myself. In short, Affordable, friendly, longer time to digest the material, veteran friendly, and awesome instructors! 
The only thing I wish nu camp taught was ruby rails, MySQL, WordPress, Heroku, and PHP.  Read less

I selected Nucamp for for my boot camp because of the low cost investment to develop skills for web development and to experience what a boot camp would be like. I am interested in enrolling in the full stack boot camp and based on my positive learning experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript boot camp I will continue on my journey with Nucamp.  Read less

I really wanted to know if this career change into coding would be for me. Nucamp provided just the right cost and quality to help make a definitive decision regarding my future career goals. I very much liked the staff and the set your pace environment and the Saturday workshops. My classmates were also very helpful. I do wish we had more repetitive challenges that had students engaging more. But aside from that I am very grateful to Nucamp, the staff, my classmates, and what I have gotten out of the program!!! A great experience in getting me ready for the full stack course which i plan on proceeding with after a month of continuing to practice coding on my own. This experience gave me a great opportunity in getting my feet wet with the fundamentals of HTML CSS and JavaScript. I'm an extreme novice to coding before the course, and now see that i am capable of continuing on to make this my profession. I chose Nucamp for these reasons: cost, flexibility as far as self-guided along with classroom time, I could still work while I attended, the length of the bootcamp isn't too long or too short, the technologies they were teaching are relevant, current and what most developers are using, and the reviews were very good.  The slack channel for Nucamp has been invaluable. When I started looking for boot camps to help me dive into web development I got bombarded with a lot of advertising. Nucamp stood out to me at first because of the affordable price compared to other programs. Other programs made it clear that you would have little to no room for life beyond class, assignments, and practice. Nucamp gave me the impression that it was geared toward people that could not give up their jobs to learn something new. I was unsure of the purely online structure with a single day to have face to face learning with the instructor and other students. I really enjoyed the format and decided to take the full stack course after the intro course. I don't know if the full stack will lead to nailing a job when I complete the course, but I will be better off than I was when I started. This was the right move for me to start a new career, and I feel confident I made the right choice.    Read less
