I choose Nu Camp because it gives me the time and flexibility to work on learning a new field of work. It has been very informational and challenging in the best way possible. I feel more accomplished then when I was searching the web for ways to self-teach myself because of the additional resources and help form a teacher.  Read less

I love that the course was at my own pace on my own time. I love that if I needed help there's a channel with my cohort and my specific class so there's more than one avenue for seeking help. But what I really like is the way everything was broken down into smaller chunks. There are still things I need to revisit but......overall I have a better understanding of coding than i did when I started the camp.  Read less

I like the bottom rung price and the flexibility of the program. Something comes up? K. Whatever, just push it back for a little bit of extra dough. Still more affordable than the other bootcamps and you're still going to get a ton of useful resources to hang on to for later. The money is worth the time investment alone. It might take weeks or months longer than this bootcamp to pick through the web to find all these resources they set you up with in a nice neat package. 💯  Read less

Instructors used the class to spread anti-vaxxer propaganda, starting a heated discussion. 
This was supposed to be a coding workshop, and a discussion like this does not create a positive learning environment. 
Esp. if the instructor displays ignorance towards scientific research and further instigates the discussion instead of resolving it. 

I expect instructors to be professional and objective and help students progress in their learning.  Read less

After looking at many bootcamps, and trying one and leaving, I came across Nucamp. First came here because of the price point of the bootcamp and then stayed because of the instructor and the content. The way the bootcamp is set up with the lecture, videos, and the instructor led workshops kept me engaged and wanting to learn more. So glad I found Nucamp! Read less

I really liked the format of learning on my own, then having the recap on Saturdays that cleared up any questions.  The pairing up and working with another student to do the assignment was also a great learning experience, I learned a lot from other students that way.  Chase was a great teacher, very straightforward, very knowledgeable and always helpful.  I would definitely recommend this class to others. I chose Nucamp because I wanted to make a career switch during the pandemic but also needed to be with my son in school.  I chose Nucamp due to the flexibile schedule but interactive course.  The teachers have been very professional and incredibly supportive.  You see a lot of the leads interacting with students on Slack.

However, this was also Nucamps biggest weakness.  It is a bit difficult to forge bonds with your fellow cohorts and it will take a lot of work to do so.  There are no out of office hours with your instructor, so the former is actually VERY crucial to your success.  As the instructors are part time, they are under no obligation to schedule additional hours with you and any time outside of the workshops is their gift to you.

This was okay for the first 3 weeks but the last week of the DOM slaughtered us.  There was a lot of material to cover and very little support for it.  I felt as though we needed a better fundamental understanding of Javascript before we jumped into the DOM. 

I very much enjoyed my instructor, he was funny, encouraging, and gave us the resources to find the answer isntead of the answer itself.  This is invaluable. especially going into this career path.  He did not just teach us the material but how to problem solve. Read less

I chose Nucamp because I am 34 and right in the middle of life, It just simply isn't feasable for me to quit my job and attend a 12 week bootcamp.  Right now I am a baker, it's a decent job that takes care of all my needs but it's pretty much the same routine everyday.  I am looking for a career that is challenging and interesting so I started to explore coding, and I got hooked! I very quickly started spending all my free time tying to learn new things about coding and even played around with codepen and making silly little fake webpages. That's when I started looking into how I could take this coding passion and integrate it into my life and make some money doing it.  Every bootcamp I researched was super intense and required me to pretty much quit my job and gain massive debt to do.  Like I said my job is decent and I live comfortably with no debt, so nothing about those requirements were even remotely appealing.  It actually almost turned me away from pursuing coding professionally, I just figured it would be something I enjoyed doing in my free time.  I then found freecodecamp and working through that I started searching again for bootcamps.  Finally I found Nucamp, and this was something that was totally doable.  Nucamp offers a schedule that only required me to do actual school work for a total of 20 hours a week, which I was already doing and more.  It also offers this at a price that doesn't send me into massive debt to loom over my head for the next however many years of my life.  All in all, Nucamp is my Goldie Locks, just right!! I have only taken the intro so far but I'm enrolling in the fullstack next month. Just in the intro class I have gained knowledge, real life coding experience, teambuilding, encouragement, a community of like minded people, and even some friends to share the journey with. I am excited for the future that Nucamp is going to help me achieve.  Read less

I chose Nucamp because of its affordability compared to other coding bootcamps.  What I liked most is the flexibility it has in being able to work the coursework around your every day life errands.
