The program was structured very well, started off with the very basics and ended up with pretty high-level concepts. I was a bit apprehensive at first. Having learning disabilities makes education at this level difficult. But, the instructors were so engaging and took time to answer and work with everyone. Glory, our program manager, is awesome! Unlike university where I went decades ago, she worked with me and set me up for success. She genuinely wanted me to pass. 

I love it and STRONGLY suggest everyone try it. If you're wanting an MIT level education, this will get you there.


Pros:
The emotional support. Starting this class in the middle of chemo was hard enough. They made it possible.
The course work was not saturating. It was broken out into smaller chunks - eating the elephant 1 bite at a time. 
The videos and the corresponding skills tests were hard at times but being able to see where I went wrong on the skills test helped me understand the question better.
Learning Python... not my favorite language but they made it fun and now I have a little more respect for it.

Cons:
The only con I have is there was a slight language barrier due to different nationalities of the instructors but the ability to go back and watch the MLS again was very helpful.

I've recently completed the MIT-ADSP Course offered by Great Learning, and I must say it has been an enriching and valuable experience for me. The course curriculum is incredibly comprehensive, covering a wide range of topics in data science.

If you are new to this field, I would advise refreshing your basics and Python skills, as the course dives into the topics right from the beginning. The emphasis on pre-work offered before the start of the live lectures is not to be taken lightly.

It requires focused attention on the topics covered each week. However, the weekend Mentor sessions provided invaluable assistance in gaining a better understanding of the topics taught in the live lectures delivered by the esteemed MIT faculty. These sessions not only reinforced the concepts but also offered interactive discussions and doubt clarification, contributing to a deeper comprehension of the material. The inclusion of revision sessions further supplemented conceptual and coding skills.

The projects offered during the course were well-designed and allowed for practical application of the concepts learned. Additionally, the availability of additional resources and learning materials further enhanced my understanding of the subject matter.

I must acknowledge the Program Managers for their exceptional support. They were consistently proactive in providing reminders, resources, and being highly accommodating throughout the entire journey. Their commitment to ensuring a smooth learning experience is commendable.

I just completed the Applied Data Science course at MIT (by Great Learning) it was fantastic.
The course is very intense, so you should know that you need to dedicate time to make the best out of it. Between weekdays lectures with MIT professors (which was amazing to get a good intuition about each topic) then a weekend mentoring session with amazing instructors that iterate through the urgent topics and work with us through a case study to apply all what we learnt throughout the week.
That’s a lot to learn and practice and leaves you with an amazing foundation for Data Science and several machine learning techniques.
For sure the course doesn’t cover every single topic out there but once you have the good foundation, intuition and will the sky is the limit for new learnings with so much resources out there.

I enrolled in their MIT-Applied Data Science Program and finished in June 2023.

This is an intense course. Be prepared to be dedicated to complete the course work on time. Keep other activities on hold.

Remember you are going from 0 to 100 in 3 months. You are getting all the right tools for success. Execution and dedication is key.

My advice to fellow learners. Program starts with Python fundamentals. Take a online course on Python and do your best to enter this program with intermediate skills in Python. This will allow you to focus more on core subject matter.

I recently completed the applied data science program, which was one of the greatest I've ever done.

The curriculum was up to date, the lecturers were excellent, and the mentors were outstanding. The entire staff worked together to answer all of my queries and to prepare me for real-world activities.  You won't believe the opportunities this has given me in my job.

It is a difficult curriculum to finish, but it is well worth the effort.

I just finished the applied data science program and its one of the best programs I have ever done.

The syllabus was up to date, the teachers amazing and the mentors incredible. the whole team worked to answer all the questions I had and to prepare me for real life tasks.  You wont believe the doors this has opened up for me in my career.

Its a tough program to complete and it will challenge you, but its well worth the effort.

I finished Applied Data Science and Machine Learning with MIT and Great Learning. The Experience was amazing! The content of the course is excellent! Comprehensive and challenging. The idea is to learn, so they take you step by step with what you need to know and understand. There is a combination of Lecturers from MIT and Great Learning, both outstanding, the lectures are from one of the top schools, and they answer all your questions. There is also a team to support you outside of the lectures, and I never had to wait more than an hour or less for an answer. The Program Manager plays a big part in this as this requires a lot of support, communication and guidance. Spot on!

Nitish and Shikha were monumental in my success in this program as program managers. When I felt overwhelmed with the density and complexity of the coursework, they were quick to reach out and help devise a plan for me to get back on track. • The course started by covering the required fundamentals such as Basic Python Programming and using Python in Data Science with libraries such as Numpy and Pandas.
• Then we covered Statistical and Probabilistic Data Exploration and Analysis concepts and best practices.
• We gradually started discussing Data Curation and Cleansing strategies as well as Feature Extraction (basic Feature Engineering as well)
• We then started applying the previously covered knowledge in practical Machine Learning Models
• Through the end, we covered heavy AI-oriented courses such as Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and Computer Vision
• The final course was also about Generative AI and ChatGPT breakdown.

Pace

• The amount of work needed will gradually increase, but considerate deadlines and faculty members' support will help guide you through it.
• Almost all the projects and deliverables are designed to accommodate people based on their interests and learning goals. People who rather work closely with code and programming, as well as people who rather focus on business insights and less coding are both considered and welcomed to participate.

I sincerely and honestly am grateful for the time I spent on this program and I cannot recommend it enough.

The Applied Data Science course is 12 weeks of intense learning. Get the conceptual framework from MIT faculty and then learn how to implement the concepts using Python coding projects. I feel like I dove in the deep end and came out swimming like an olympic athlete.  Certainly a great place to begin a career change into the exciting world of data science.
