Georgia Tech Boot Camps

Definitely regret taking the full stack program. Wasted about $15k all total. The “student success manager” was a total joke. He ignored his students more than he helped them be successful. Luckily he got removed from the position but not soon enough. From being involved in the program I discovered that everything they go over there’s some free website you can get the info from. Employers don’t care about the certificate they give you they just want you to know how to code. If you get behind in the class you won’t be able to do the career services stuff and get caught up. If you’ve never done a virtual class before then this isn’t a great way to experience it for the first time. It’s extremely fast paced. All in all I’d say save your money  Read less

I decided to get into tech during last year, 2021, during the Pandemic because I felt like I was reaching my fullest potential.  I was already working as a Business Analyst but was not really in the tech world. I had began looking into free data analytics classes, but I was not getting a good grasp of the content so I started looking into bootcamps and came across Georgia Tech's Data Science and Analytics bootcamp. The bootcamp was awesome! I loved working on the visualizations portion (we used Tableau) of the class as well as the PostgresSQL portion of the class. I participated in everything that the bootcamp offered and ended up receiving a promotion at my current job. This bootcamp truly changed my life and if you decide to take this bootcamp take advantage of everything that they offer. Highly recommend this bootcamp to anyone interested in Data Analytics. Please be aware of the small print with Georgia Institute of Technology or better known as Trilogy Education Services.  The deposit is non-refundable which is to the tune of $1000!  I provided notice of cancelation several weeks before wanting to cancel my attendance at the boot camp so I am not sure why an honest company wouldn't provide a full refund of a deposit.  I do not think that there was $1000 worth of work performed to prepare my seat to attend the boot camp.  I also know that there were ample seats available in the boot camp so why keep my $1000 deposit?  I really want folks to know this information so they are not put in the same position that I am currently.  READ the fine print is the lesson of this review and food for thought as to why would a company have such a policy?   Read less

I enrolled in the Digital Marketing Bootcamp after hearing about the Trilogy courses and their university affiliations from a friend. I selected Georgia Institute of Technology based on their reputation as a leader in training the science professionals of tomorrow. The Digital Marketing course is a highly valuable and effective way to learn the full breadth of knowledge and skills to become a competitor ready professional on a new career path. The individuals classes run through an intensely in-depth and fast paced series of lessons taught in realtime by a digital marketing professional with (in my experience) incredibly valuable and knowledgeable Teaching Assistants to support the students during and in between classes. The 6-months of classes 3x/week are accompanied with classwork and projects that require another 10-20 hours/week depending on the difficulty of the unit content and required assignments. Within the first two weeks I learned everything I was expecting to cover in the course, leaving an extensive amount of time to go deeper into analysis, metrics and web-based tools, and performance assessments of marketing campaigns, messaging, and expenditures. I've enjoyed learning how to create and optimize a website on WordPress as well as critique a company's current marketing practices and web presence to identify weaknesses and strengths (suggestions for improvement abound). Overall the experience has been unique, rewarding, very demanding and inspiring. I've met several people through this course who I would like to keep in touch as networking partners and professional peers for a time to come and look forward to hearing from my classmates down the road to learn about the different directions we have all taken in applying what we have learned and practices through participation in this course. As in all things, I am not without my criticisms and there is certainly room for improvement in certain aspects of the course though I cannot deny the benefits anyone would certainly gain should they enroll and make a full commitment to getting the most from the instructional lessons, readings, class activities, and homework assignments.  Read less

I am currently enrolled in the UX/UI bootcamp. I attended for one month and can no longer afford the course, as my financial situation has changed unfortunately. I was told that there is absolutely no financial assistance available. My account is on hold so I cannot access any of the classes. This means that I am still being billed because I am technically enrolled, but I am unable to attend any classes. 

So now all of my absences have been used; I am six months pregnant so the course teacher and I had discussed using all the allotted absences when my baby arrives. This will no longer be possible even if I did have a way to pay for the course. They do not seem to care at all about the students once you face any hardship. Enrolling was a mistake and only added stress to my plate. 

It is very difficult to withdraw past the first week of classes so I have no idea how long they will continue billing me for these courses that I cannot access. The course was not engaging at all and very heavily dependent on group work. Read less

I started the Course in August 2020 in the Full Time Class .  I learned early on that I would need to change to Part Time in order to get a better grasp of the curriculum .   The Course is very in depth and you will learn a lot in a minimum amount of time . Being older ,   one of the greatest advantages was that each class was taped so if you had a problem understanding the topic you could always go back and review the tape to get a better understanding of the material .  The Instructor ( Jonathan ) and the T.A. 's were great .   He would go over the subject and ALWAYS asked if anyone had questions which was a definite plus !   He also encouraged us to do our own research into the subject matter if you had questions that needed a more detailed response .  To those that are older , take advantage of everything offered to you  , e.g. before / after class  help sessions with the T.A.'s as their help will be critical to your success  in the course .

Make no mistake , you will need to devote time to this endeavor .   The staff stresses that in order for you to master this course you will need to PRACTICE , PRACTICE, PRACTICE your craft .   Participate in the Class Activities ,  ask questions if you don't know , take REALLY good notes as this will help you to become more confident in your skill development .   Participate in Study Groups if they are formed ,  most likely your question might be the same question that others have and your not shy in realizing your don't know and need help .

I was already in the I.T. field for 20 + years before taking this class .  The coding wasn't difficult ( just have to learn the syntax ) but their were many other applications that I needed to master and that is always a challenge. I learned a lot and I continue to review the tapes to keep myself aware of Full Stack Engineering .and what it encompasses .  If I can do it , anyone who is older who wants to change their career path or diversify their current  I.T. skillset , this is a quality course taught by highly qualified educators who take pride in their passion to offer the student the best experience possible ! GA Tech did a wonderful job with this bootcamp. I had very little knowledge about web development and I feel after 6 months that I can take on most task a job would ask me to do. I understand resources that I can use and how to ask the proper questions to fullfill the job at hand. The instructors and TA's were knowledgeable and patient with the students. I feel that the price was fair for the wealth of knowledge we received. I would highly recommend this bootcamp.  Read less

After a 6 month period, with no personal previous knowledge of Data Analytics or Data Science, I have gained confidence entering the field. The connections you form with other students and multiple avenues of assistance in identifying the coding languages you wish to pursue further in a future career path is something that puts Georgia Tech's Boot Camp above other educational resources.       This course is extremely valuable in terms of the knowledge and networking opportunities afforded to you as a student. Be forewarned that this course is difficult. Let me repeat: this is not a course to be taken lightly, you will consistently be sacrificing Friday and Saturday evenings with family & friends to maximize the potential benefits obtained by enrolling in this course. That is not meant to deter you from enrolling in this excellent program. For those without previous experience in the field I would advise this is a full time job. Read less

I'm not going to sugarcoat it. This course is challenging but certainly worth the effort! The instructional staff taught me how to learn new material quickly and independently. As a person who literally thought html was short for hotmail (don't laugh too hard) before bootcamp, I now create fully functional, deployed web applications and teach others how to do the same. If you are willing to put forth the effort of studying 5+ hours a day in addition to class and office hours, then you will absolutely reach greatness. I learned so much in 3 months. Be prepared to give all of your time and life up to the course, but that's what is expected when you sign up for full time! Coming from a completely different field, I learned so much and really felt like i was given the tools to succeed. You get out of the course what you put into the course. You will continue to be pushed to be better and improve on skills. It's a big investment in your future, but I would recommend to anyone who is wanting to break into this field. I especially am thankful for the staff, Jonathan who was the instructor and the TAs- Phil, Leif, and Peter- being online is tough, but they continually went above and beyond to make sure that we had all available resources available. The GA Tech Data Science and Analysis course was a great experience!  The instructor was very knowledgeable in all of the topics we covered.  He was patient and answered every question.   He would even take the time to try the coding suggestions we asked about, so we could see the results.  The instructor provided real-world examples.  He would talk with us, at times individually, about our plans for employment making suggestions when they were applicable.  He was very supportive of our in-class activities and aided us in our future careers as data scientists.

The TAs were excellent, as well.  They were very patient and extremely supportive working with some of us for hours.  They even offered  and led an extra study hall outside of office hours for us to review the concepts.  They didn't do the work for you, but definitely assisted in guiding us to the answers.  We also had access to personal tutors if we needed them.  Both the TAs and the instructor would offer outside resources for us to review, learn and reinforce our skills. 

I cannot say enough about this great experience!  We were taught the leading edge technologies for data scientists and given homework to reinforce what was taught the prior week.  We were stretched in that we had to figure out some parts of the homework on our own.  We were challenged and held to high expectations.   Read less

I graduated from the Full Stack Bootcamp and the information I learned was great. It helps build a great foundation to begin your career as a developer. Our instructor presented complex concepts in an easy to understand manner and kept everyone engaged from day one. You can tell that he has a passion for the curriculum and that passion is contagious. The post-graduation support bas been very good, they don't give you a certificate and disappear. I'm very pleased with my experience.

I had a great relationship with the instructor and with the TAs (though I wish we had the same TAs throughout the entire 12 weeks) throughout the course.  I learned a lot, and had a much better grasp of the languages and tools taught after 12 weeks in this class than I did with Python after a full college semester of that.  Furthermore, I have received compliments on the fact that my portfolio has actual projects in it, as many univeristy CompSci graduates apparently leave school with very little with which to practically demonstrate their skills.

This course is fast paced and demanding. But it works and delivers what it promises. As a working professional, mother of a toddler and studying for around 10 hours  every week,apart from the in-person classes was a very packed 6 months. It teaches over 15 subjects spanning from data gathering, cleansing , visualizing and creating a story in a meaninful way. 

The reason it works is its amazing teachers, support staff and the course structure. The instructors are knowledgeable , experienced and very supportive .The homeworks and projects are designed to enable revision of the lessons and every other subject already taught which ties everything together.

I'm so proud to have finished this course and am so much more confident .

The course was great, comprehensive, and fast pace.  The instructors and TA's were fantastic and there was plenty of support that you were able to keep up with the curriculum as long as you put in the time.  Be prepared to put in 35-40hrs a week for 6 months (including class time), and you'll be rewarded with enough knowledge to call yourslef a developer and mean it :)  

I recomend the boot camp to anyone who is serious about becoming a developer...a great return on investment!

The overall experience was phenomenal. Both the instructional team and extra resources (i.e. tutoring,  etc.), provided knowledgeable and patient assistance throughout the course. Yes, it took time and dedication but it is well worth it; when you look at what you’ve accomplished.

This was my first big step into the world of software development and I don't think I could've made a better decision. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I knew that the course would be rigorous and fast paced, but I was quickly relieved to see that they wanted me to succeed as much as I wanted to. Not only were the instructors top notch, but the TA's were more than willing to go out of their way to help me in any way that they could.

What I appreciated the most out of the bootcamp was that they didn't coddle me through the class. They pushed me towards new ideas and new ways of thinking. They inspired me to want to build and create things on my own. Not only did they teach me WHAT to learn, they taught me HOW to learn, which is something that I'll take into other areas of my life outside of coding and software. I'm not saying that it's going to be easy, I'm saying that it's going to be worth it.

You must be prepared the first day of class. It can be hard to balance if you are working full time but it can be done. You must be willing to work in and out of class. You have to put time aside even on the weekends to get work done. I like the fact we have access to class videos incase we have to go back and to see what we learned in class again.  

People that take the cores come from different backgrounds from not knowing anything about programming to engeeners, data scienctists, designers, and programers.  

I liked presenting the projects we have made in and out of class. However, I wish we would have had more career fairs.
