CareerFoundry is an online bootcamp that offers flexibly paced programs for career changers in web development, UX design, UI design, product design, data analytics, digital marketing, and product management. Headquartered in Berlin but with a global student base, CareerFoundry has provided tech education since 2013.

CareerFoundry combines the flexibility of online learning with the guidance of mentors and tutors through their dual mentorship model, training students to become job-ready in four to 12 months, or their money back.

No previous experience is required to apply for the programs. Students should have access to a computer and an internet connection, and an interest in the topic they are planning to study. Students apply via the CareerFoundry website by connecting with an advisor who can talk through their options. Students will need to pay a deposit to secure their place, then complete the required pre-work before the program commences.

CareerFoundry is a Scam: 15 Emails Ignored, Refund Denied Even After 100% Compliance, Leadership Silent

I want every future student to know exactly what kind of company CareerFoundry really is. I completed 100% of the coursework, had all four portfolio projects approved, and kept a six-month documented job search with biweekly check-ins. Despite this, my refund request was denied with made-up excuses that don’t exist anywhere in their Terms and Conditions.   And the silence starts right from the top. I sent 15 emails directly to [name redacted], the Director of CareerFoundry, and he miserably failed to even acknowledge a single one. This is the kind of “leadership” running the company silence, avoidance, and zero accountability. If the director ignores students, it’s no surprise that employees follow the same culture.   What I Did – Fully Documented and unjust denial:
    • Full compliance ignored: I finished every requirement coursework, projects, and job search with no red flags raised at any point.
    • Made-up rules: The denial was based on a false claim of a “broken” Tableau link and a random “hosting requirement” that was never in the Terms, never taught, and never communicated.
    • Contradictions: If my portfolio was supposedly non-compliant, why did it pass two full reviews, even with visible typos, and why was I never flagged during the program?
    • Mentorship failure: I asked repeatedly for guidance on refund documentation midway through, and was ignored — only to be penalized later for the very clarity I requested.
    • Retroactive standards: Even my job tracker, which wasn’t required when I enrolled but which I maintained anyway, was suddenly used against me at the end.
    Let’s be clear:
    • [name redacted], the program advisor, spammed me with calls and emails until I enrolled. Once I paid, she went silent and never responded when I needed help.
    • [name redacted] gave vague, empty responses when I asked about documentation, refusing to state what was actually required.
    • [name redacted] showed up later with fabricated nonsense, claiming my portfolio needed to be hosted on some random platform that was never in the Terms, never taught in the program, never mentioned by any mentor or career specialist.
    • My mentor [name redacted] approved my portfolio even though it had obvious spelling errors on the first slide. If this is “mentorship,” it’s a joke.
This isn’t education. This is a scam business model: lure students with “job guarantee” and “refund promise,” then hide behind silence, invented rules, and cowardly leadership when it’s time to honor the policy.   Shame on [name redacted] and his management team. A director who cannot acknowledge 15 emails sets the tone for a company built on deceit and silence.   Future students: Do not enroll. Save yourself. CareerFoundry will take your money, waste your time, and then slam the door shut when you hold them accountable. I have full documentation emails, approvals, and proof and will share it with anyone who asks.   CareerFoundry does not honor its promises. Period.

    Hi Manisha,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear how frustrated and disappointed you feel. At CareerFoundry, we take all student concerns seriously and always aim to resolve them fairly and respectfully.

The majority of our students are very happy with their experience and go on to complete their career change successfully. That said, there are unfortunately times when expectations and outcomes don’t align. In those cases, we carefully review each refund request against the Terms & Conditions of our Satisfaction Guarantee.

After a thorough review of your case, we found that not all of the required conditions were fully met. For this reason, we were unable to approve your refund request. Our team has explained and detailed the reason with reference to the agreed Terms & Conditions in the direct replies. We understand this is disappointing, and we regret that we weren’t able to come to an agreement in your case.

That said, you will continue to have access to all course materials as well as our career services resources, and our team remains available to support you in your career journey.

While we cannot always resolve every situation to a student’s satisfaction, please know that our intention is never to ignore or dismiss concerns. Our team works hard to provide transparency, and we’ll continue to use feedback like yours to improve communication and support for future students.

We wish you all the best in your future career journey.

Worth it - but some kinks to work through

I’m currently enrolled in the Career Foundry Full-Stack web development program, and I am on the second achievement of the second module of the course which focuses more on backend programming.

The first module was amazing! Very well thought out and written with great resources for students to expand on the knowledge provided.

The second module has been good but far from perfect. I find myself googling questions that need to be explained better in the course. Also I have gotten some warnings during the second achievement in module two saying the code is deprecated… it’s pretty frustrating that the course isn’t kept up to date to the point the code is getting removed in the next release of mongoDB I think it was.

Overall I do think the course is worth it, 100%! But if you’re looking for a 100% self contained course, this is close but not 100% self contained.

    Unresponsive Tutor

The course is designed to have the tutor help you through the course and respond to you within 24 hours. I chose the flex schedule which means I should be able to work at my own pace. Unfortunately, the tutor I was assigned to usually takes 3 to 4 days to respond. When I do have time to work on the course, I'm unable to because my coursework sits for days at a time waiting for my tutor to review. Exercises build one upon another, often having you delete old code and re-working things with new frameworks or libraries. Making it impossible to move on without the tutor reviewing.
When I first reached out to the advisors about potentially falling behind due to these consistent delays things got worse. I'm about halfway through the course and officially falling behind schedule. I sent another message to the advisors about my situation becoming worse with the unresponsive tutor and currently waiting for another response. Hopefully, I can get a new tutor or some time added to my schedule, again.  After reminding my tutor that he has 24 hours to respond or review exercises he has decided to start fighting with me over whether he has to respond saying he has students turn 5 assignments in in a day.  Very dishonest.

    Positive Review of Career-Foundry Website

I'm currently enrolled in the Data Analytics course at CareerFoundry, and my experience so far has been very positive. The course has exceeded my expectations in terms of content and depth. I was initially looking for a program that would help me transition into a data-focused role, and CareerFoundry has delivered on that front. The curriculum is well-structured, starting with the basics and gradually building up to more complex topics, which has allowed me to gain a solid understanding of data analytics concepts. The hands-on projects have been particularly beneficial, as they’ve helped me apply what I've learned in a practical context. The support from tutors and mentors has also been excellent, with timely feedback and personalized guidance that has kept me on track.Although I haven’t yet reached the stage of job placement, I feel well-prepared for the upcoming challenges. CareerFoundry promises to assist with job preparation and placement, which is a critical component for me. I plan to update this review once I complete the course and have more insights into the job search process and how effectively the program supports its graduates in landing a job in the field of data analytics. So far, I’m impressed and excited about what’s ahead.

Fantastic mentors, out of date resource links

CareerFoundry is friendly and accessible bootcamp which is easy to complete at your own pace. Their range of mentors and tutors are all knowledgeable and friendly, though you may occasionally find you have to switch mentors if your timings just don't line up. Good news is the student advisors are super helpful and make this process easy!

The student community is very supportive and great for early networking of people in the same boat as you.

I will say that on the UX course the resource articles are a little out of date, some having been published back in 2017. It would be nice if there were kept fresh with newer articles but the information contained is largely still relevant.

Additionally, sometime the platform can be a bit unintuitive and clunky, but only with lesser used functions I found personally.

Overall I am very happy with my experience with Career Foundry so farm

    Fascinating, engaging, and informative.

I've felt supported throughout the entire experience. The lessons are structured in a way that keep me interested and make it easy to retain the information given. The expected pacing is reasonable even for people working full time, and the opportunity to rush ahead or slow down at my own pace removes the stress of arbitrary deadlines that many other schools have. The feedback I receive on assignments is useful, actionable, and encouraging. My instructors have answered all my questions and made me feel like I can continue asking them whenever I need to. I've found the curriculum to be well worth the investment.

Learning in a flexible online environment

I’m enjoying learning UX through CareerFoundry. The flexible model works really well for me since I can take a break if work/personal life is busy and make up for it when I have more time. Learning oline can be a bit lonely though especially when it involves tasks usually completed in teams like user research. I have found it helpful to go to mentor when I’m feeling lonely/unmotivated. The mentor/tutor model has been good.

    It's been great so far.

The course materials are really good, with additional resources for further reading to help me understand the topic being discussed. It's good that they provide examples of how certain tasks are done so I will have an idea o how to approach the task expected of me to do. However, they need to make sure that the demo examples are correct become there were a few that does not really match how the tasks are supposed to get done correctly and as students, we tend to model our work based on the examples given. Another thing to point out is the allotted time for each task. Sometimes, the time estimates given per task are not very realistic. They need to consider that not all students are the same, not everyone absorbs what they read quickly and not everyone has a set of technical skills to meet the timeframe. I remember doing a few tasks which says 4-6 hours but in reality, there is no way I can finish them at that rate, especially if I had to interview 3-5 people, arranging the interview alone takes time plus the amount of time you spend gathering and organising the data and making a presentation. Other than that, I am really enjoying this course, my mentor and tutor are really awesome. Mohit is very encouraging and helps me to push myself to finish my tasks on time. Rachel has always been amazing, very thorough with her feedback and you can tell they she is actually taking her time in assessing my work. I am learning so much and I hope I finish on time despite my struggles in juggling my time between work and studying.
