I took the Product Management course. It was a hands-on experience, the final project is based on applying the topics reviewed during the season for which we had the real-time guidance of the instructor. He also brought real-life examples of a product lifecycle.

Very pleasantly surprised with the high quality of instruction and support from the education team. Had the instructors, Jon, Kayla, Jajuan, Jim, and Logan. They were all awesome along with the brilliant TAs Fateme, Henry and Krystyna. Made this bootcamp well worth it twice over. I have a CS degree from a university and was skeptical of what to expect quality-wise, however I was really impressed and definitely recommend it. The instructors are very knowledgeable and great at conveying the course material.

Very intense pace, expect no life outside of the bootcamp for the duration (if you're taking the 3 month Software Engineering bootcamp). 

The careers team could have been better about providing feedback and could have been more organized. But looks like they're doing a much better job post bootcamp so far (fingers crossed). The career team did host PowerHours with people from industry that I found invaluable (The guests provided relevant, fresh, and applicable information).

I recently completed the 12 weeks UX Design bootcamp at BrainStation, and it was a game-changer for me! My time at BrainStation was amazing and I'm kind of sad that it's ending as I was able to meet and work along side some of the most genuine, amazing people in my cohort! It feels surreal that I was able to learn so much in just 12 weeks. That's not to say it was a walk in the park as you will have to put in the effort and basically put your life on hold for the duration. But it was definitely worth it and learned so much. Read less

The 12-week Cybersecurity BrainStation Online Bootcamp was amazing. Educators were very clear, knowledgeable, patient, and available and great people to spend a very intense 12 weeks with. The program also integrated networking and career enhancing opportunities into our schedule. 1-on-1 coaching is available to us for 6 months after graduating and the learning platform is available for an additional year as well. This bootcamp is NOT easy and it is very fast paced, but the instructors and career advisors are on your side and they are truly rooting for you! I recently completed a 12-week UX Design bootcamp, and I can confidently say it was a transformative experience that deserves a solid five stars. From the outset, the program was structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in user experience principles, and it delivered on every front.
The curriculum was well-balanced, covering everything from user research and wireframing to prototyping and usability testing. The hands-on projects were particularly valuable, allowing us to apply theoretical concepts in real-world scenarios. By the end of the bootcamp, I had built a diverse portfolio that showcased my skills and creativity.

This business is a complete scam. They are liars. They give fake promises and charge hefty amounts for zero return. This so-called school is the biggest lie I have ever seen. They are taking tax payer money to, supposedly, “support the tech industry in Canada”. BIG LIE. Don’t fall to them. All the good reviews are fake. There is no career support, absolutely nothing. BrainStation destroyed my life and I went into depression because of them. I lost my job, my savings, and I am losing my life because of them. I am completely devastated because of those scammers. What they are doing is illegal and destructive to people and amounts to criminal activity. I believe that life is karma. You destroyed my life, and I hope this returns to you the same way you caused harm to my family and I. I wish I could give less than one star.

I initially enrolled in BrainStation's Data Analytics course from May to July 2023, hoping to pivot my career from Digital Marketing to Data Analytics. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Despite attending the full course, I left feeling like I had learned almost nothing. I was kindly allowed to retake the certification for free, which I completed in October 2023, but it still hasn’t been beneficial.The coursework itself was very limited. The first time I took the class, we were told we could go home and complete the work on our own. There was no encouragement to stay and work together in a collaborative environment, so most people, including the instructors, just left. This made the entire course feel disengaged and lacking in depth.The few concepts I did learn came from free YouTube tutorials, which went much deeper than what was covered in the course. For the high cost, it felt unproductive and not worth the investment.I invested in the course due to them boasting "more than 90 percent of BrainStation's bootcamp graduates are employed in their fields within 180 days of graduation", but despite my six years of Digital Marketing experience, university degrees, other certifications, and now a Data Analytics project, I haven’t received a single interview from the many applications I've submitted since last summer. It’s been incredibly disheartening, and I deeply regret my decision to enroll.I spoke with a BrainStation representative regarding my disappointment and I was told to reach out to my instructors for further help, but none of them have responded to my emails. Adding to this, I was made aware by one of the students in my class that some people in the course were allowed to take it for free just to fill empty spots, such as instructors from other courses who enrolled as students in the Data Analytics class, and vice versa. As part of this exchange they have to leave a 5 star review which is why you will never get honest feedback like this.I also provided feedback through Synapse (the software with all course materiels etc), and indicated that I was open to further discussions, yet no one from BrainStation  reached out to me until I reached out to them first. For the amount of money I’ve spent, I expected far better engagement and support, and a better resolution than "reach out to your instructors / come to our networking invents".Overall, this experience has felt like a significant waste of money, and I no longer believe the course was worth the investment. I hope BrainStation will take these concerns seriously and reconsider offering a refund. Read less

BrainStation taught me so much about data analytics - the instructors gave us many real world examples from their experience in the field. This really helped accelerate my learning and gave me an idea of how I might be able to leverage these new skills at work. The course focused on three major tools: Excel, SQL, Tableau. These each played a significant role within labs as we sanitized, analyzed and visualized data. I can't wait to take my next class with BrainStation.  Read less

I recently completed Software Engineering Bootcamp and it was an exceptional experience. The fast-paced, comprehensive curriculum was both hands-on and focused on essential programming skills through real-world projects . The educators and TAs were incredibly supportive, helping us navigate challenges and enhance our skills.

The bootcamp also provided excellent resources and career support, including post-bootcamp assistance. I've seen a significant boost in my confidence and skills.

I highly recommend Software Engineering Bootcamp to anyone looking to start a career in software engineering. Read less

My experience with BrainStation’s UX program was deeply disappointing. The program had a clear double standard: students were expected to maintain 90% attendance, but instructors frequently arrived late or extended their lecture times.


I left the program SO unbelievably burnt out - and I'm someone who worked as an EMT and went to FT university for the past 3 years. And for what? The program’s content was outdated, and students were awarded high grades for following their unimaginative cookie-cutter process. They actively downgrade you for critical thinking or asking questions. Just jump through the hoops and end up with a portfolio that looks exactly like every single other person who has ever gone through Brainstation (just google UX Designer Brainstation or look on LinkedIn).


Much of UX can be done by AI. They did nothing to acknowledge or prepare students to grow in this rapidly changing industry and a position that will likely be obsolete in the next 5 years. They just want to make their money and factory farm as many students through as possible because they inevitably go under.


No one from my cohort has found a job since completing it. Instructors seemed more focused on getting out of class as fast as possible than providing any measure of genuine support or curiosity and investment in student's development or future careers.


Why are they bad teachers? Lectures were often rushed and lacked any meaningful dialogue. Technical issues and missed sessions were common, compounding the frustration. Feedback and support were inconsistent, with unclear grading criteria and frequent denial or poor management of one-on-one session requests. Instructor's were late and unprepared daily, with missed deadlines for capstone feedback and unacknowledged technical problems during presentations. Communication was garbage, and there was a lack of any effective support channels and regular check-ins.


When you ask their bosses to hold them accountable, they don't give a sh** either.


Overall, the program did not live up to its promises. Straight up - THIS IS A SCAM.


The outdated content and lack of job placement success demonstrate Brainstation's failure to deliver on any of its promises. Their utter lack of credibility in the tech sphere reinforces this. Don't muddy your name by getting involved with this joke of a company. Read less

I quit my job to go through the UX design bootcamp as I had a scholarship offer by BrainStation and was optimistic but nearing the end they decided that my projects which I had spent essentially every minute of my time throughout the 3 month program were not good enough (even tho they were) and refused to grade appropriately. My entire class was shocked to hear that they wouldn’t allow me complete the last project and we all noticed how condescending some of the educators were throughout the program. The person grading my work is a TA with no experience in ux design. The lead educator is honestly a bit of a con artist, don’t submit any idea you value. The academic advisor does not have your interests in favour, they just care about their money. Mind you I studied neuroscience at a reputable university and I’d say I’m quite competent and my ideas were well executed and skills well demonstrated throughout the bootcamp. I noticed some off putting behaviour by the educators towards two mothers attending the bootcamp as they were struggling with balancing their schedules. I would 100% advise against taking the bootcamp, or even having any affiliation with this what should be called ScamStation. They take government funding for this… disappointed that this is where some of my tax money goes to. This was my experience but amongst my entire class, we would all agree that you’re better off pursuing real education at a real university. Read less
