Founded in Portugal in 2015, <Academia de Código_> is a social impact startup that offers 14-week intensive and immersive Full Stack Programming Bootcamps. Students are guided through the course by a team of instructors who are graduates of the bootcamp. <Academia de Código_> describes their teaching methods as "peculiar" and aimed at training students to write clean code.
<Academia de Código_>'s immersive programming bootcamps welcome beginners of all ages (over 18) and backgrounds (degree not needed) as long as they are willing to fully and passionately commit to becoming professional junior software developers within a short period of time. To apply to the bootcamps, prospective students must complete an online computer science 101 course, submit an online form, complete an online JavaScript tutorial, excel in a JavaScript code challenge, and attend online a workshop day that will be similar to the student experience during the bootcamp.
At each campus, different financing/sponsorship solutions are available to help candidates finance the bootcamp. Terms and conditions are listed on the <Academia de Código_> website.

Best decision I've made
I was stuck in a dead-end job and starting to lose sight of my future. I had heard about <Academia de Código_> back in 2015, and finallly decided to apply in 2018.
Was it hard? Harder. It was the hardest thing I've done in my life.
However, it paid out. I've made new friends, I've gained a family, but most importantly I've learned how to learn. I'm so thankful to our Master Coders in FUNdão, they are truly the best. Before, I had never even seen a single line of code...I was stuck in a dead-end job and starting to lose sight of my future. I had heard about <Academia de Código_> back in 2015, and finallly decided to apply in 2018.

It literally changed my life!
I attended last year and it literally changed my life!
I got a job as a back-end developer on a great company as soon as I finished the Bootcamp! The teachers worked very hard, even after hours, to make sure no one gets behind. I recommend this Bootcamp to everyone who wants to learn how to code.

Changed my life!
<Academia de Código_> changed my life, it was the best experience I had in my life and totally reseted my life for a brand new and better one.
Even if you dont have money at the moment you can go to Fundão and pay later when you have the job.
The MC's are amazing and the environment is cool, you wont have any problems, besides drinking a lot of coffee hehehe, yeah its intensive but you will have the reward in the end, a pretty good damn reward.

Taught how to learn
It was a fantastic experience. From the bootcamp application to job enrolment, I felt accompanied through the entire process.
The instructors were helpful, very knowledgeable and amazingly patient. The bootcamp has an awesome teaching philosophy that leaves you prepared for the job market, you might not leave knowing everything (ha!) but you'll come out prepared with the knowledge to learn how to face any ordeal. Great syllabus suitable for any kind of people
When I signup for this bootcamp I already had 2 years of professional experience as a web developer and during the 14 weeks I still learned something new everyday to improve my skills, technical and social.

Gave me a family. Gave me a purpose. Gave me a new life.
When I started the bootcamp I was really scared. I was turning my life upside down and starting over in a new country (I'm from Brazil), building a new career (I'm a geologist), almost all alone (just me and my husband in the country, no family or friends) and dealing with antisocial issues because of my difficulty to understand the Portuguese language. It wasn't easy, this isn't for the faint of heart, but that just prepares you even more for the future in this field. Might sound like a clic...When I started the bootcamp I was really scared. I was turning my life upside down and starting over in a new country (I'm from Brazil), building a new career (I'm a geologist), almost all alone (just me and my husband in the country, no family or friends) and dealing with antisocial issues because of my difficulty to understand the Portuguese language. It wasn't easy, this isn't for the faint of heart, but that just prepares you even more for the future in this field. Might sound like a cliche, but from day one I felt embraced in a safe space where I could make mistakes and learn from them without being judged. This place brings together all kinds of people and that diversity is what makes the experience unbelievably incredible. We were able to learn not only programming, but also a large skill set to thrive in the field. The staff helps you with everything. Literally everything. From working hard to playing hard, from AM to PM (and then AM again), from coding to interview practice, they even help you make an awesome and impressive cv. It's a full package. No buts. They gave me a home away from home, and for that I'll be forever thankful. I will never forget the family that changed my life.

Awesome 14 weeks that changed my life
The bootcamp lasts for 14 weeks, but it feels so much more. It's so intense that you learn so much from the beginning of computer science untill coding practices in the real world. When i finished the course i was ready to start working, and i actually got my job 2 weeks before finishing the bootcamp!
During these 14 weeks you know amazing people, and you feel apart of a big family.
I think everyone should do this bootcamp!
