TripleTen

Here’s a breakdown of my experience thus far, I’m on the last portion of the bootcamp and after this I’ll be taking advantage of their career acceleration program to help with landing a job in the field of study: 

◦ why I decided to start learning Software Engineering: when the Pandemic happened I had a chance to really evaluate what I wanted to do, and made a choice. I’ve always been in sales and grew to hate it. I love building/creating things and this made sense for me. I’ve enjoyed the finished products of my code and the challenges and growth that come with it. 
◦ why I chose TripleTen and how I study: I was deciding between this and 9 other bootcamps. I ultimately chose TripleTen because of student reviews, outlined structure, support system, career acceleration, online based, self paced- sorta, and cost. I work full time so I study in the evenings and weekends!
◦ what TripleTen's features I like most of all: interactive platform, projects, learning team and community. It’s hard to pick just one, and it made me feel great about my bootcamp when another person I connected on LinkedIn mentioned they went through one and it didn’t provide projects to add to their portfolio and career program. You really get your moneys worth here. 
◦ how TripleTen helped me in my coding journey: Its provided me knowledge and practice for my field. I can’t speak too much on the career acceleration and landing a job yet as I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’ve started networking but haven’t applied yet to jobs. (Working on my last big project of developing a full stack application) but just fyi they offer coding jams and externships! 
◦ what useful tips and advice I can give to those who are just at the beginning of their coding journey: be patient, focused, and disciplined. Be sure that this is something you’d be passionate about- bc it won’t be easy. You will always be learning and will be challenged. This idea excites me, so if it doesn’t excite you- really think about what you want to do. They do offer other bootcamps as well for data analytics, data science, and QA  Read less

Back in December 2023, I decided to leave a job where I was underpaid and over-stressed. I wanted to switch gears, and I wanted to work less on the front end (dealing with customers day in, day out) and work more behind the scenes. As I was looking around online for options, I saw an ad for TripleTen and decided to look into the Business Intelligence Analytics program. Now, I am so thankful that I made the spur-of-the-moment decision to just... start. 

The courses are challenging enough to be fulfilling but not hard enough to make me want to pull my hair out. When it gets more difficult, there are numerous ways to find support, whether directly from a tutor or going through archived conversations within the community. The content is straightforward, the price is fair, the support staff is kind and knowledgeable, and the career advancement courses help make the job search feel structured and less intimidating. 

I'm very thankful I found this boot camp. I'm feeling a lot more competent, I have an increased sense of self-efficacy, I'm enjoying learning (I almost always do but this boot camp is easy to enjoy, and I'm making new connections through the community. I'm really looking forward to finding a job in my field and continuing on to the next section of this new chapter in my life! Read less

After studying medicine a couple of years in my home country I realized that I was a more creative kind of a person when it came to learning. So I switched careers and joined the software path I wanted. Although I joined the career I wanted, I felt that I wasn't in a continuous path of learning, there was nothing concrete nor continuity on any technology I was learning. 
While pursuing my associate's degree in software I tried different bootcamps from different platforms to experience what I really liked, until I found out that I loved web development. But again, didn't finish the course.
Tripleten was the final tool that allowed me to become a software engineer. I can tell that the key difference was the way the course is structure, platform and community support. 
Instructors which you can ask any questions to, constant feedback from code reviewers and community managers checking upon your progress. 
The lessons are designed by people who has plenty of experience doing the same thing you're trying to learn, which means you gain the knowledge but also absorb the experience they share. The platform is really cool, since it has task in which you practice the lessons you fresh learned, also has code pieces as examples which let you get used to read code.
And if you feeling inspired and doing something for yourself, you can participate in code jams and put to practice whatever you have learned so far.

I quit law school because I missed variety, connection, and problem solving. I knew that I could either become an average lawyer or go for something else that I had more of a passion for. That’s when I re-engaged with my passion for data science. At first I tried to do it all myself, watching videos online and practicing on datacamp. However, when it got to creating projects I lacked direction. This was when I decided to interview with bootcamps. It was close, but TripleTen won me over. From the start they showed transparency to share all they had to offer when others were reluctant. They were quick to respond to my questions and were never condescending. They got me excited to jump back into my career after the woes of quitting law school.
This has been a solid foundation and an accurate representation of how the bootcamp is. Check out their website - the quirkiness bleeds into the course making the content way more enjoyable. If I have a question or concern it is addressed quickly. The course is set up to remind us that it is perfectly normal not to not understand a concept right away. This helps me no longer spend hours on message boards, rather get help from an encouraging source within minutes. However, the biggest selling point has been the career focus. TripleTen was the only one to offer real world experience with externships in their data science program when I applied. I haven’t quite got to this point, but should start it next month.  In terms of downsides, I would emphasise that this course isn’t easy. You must remember that we are competing with people who have many years of experience in these fields. Like many here, I started learning QA engineering to change my career path.


I chose TripleTen because it's the only bootcamp with its platform, developed by authors who are active QA engineers, editors, designers, and career consultants. This isn't just recorded webinars offered by other bootcamps. I especially liked this because I absorb information better in text than audibly, as my English level isn't high enough to catch everything on the fly.


Moreover, I was attracted by their promise to refund the tuition if I didn't find a job within six months after the training. This sounded confident from their side, so I realized that the primary goal of this bootcamp was to prepare me for a QA engineer position.


Another advantage over other schools is the flexible payment system for the course. I couldn't afford to pay a couple of thousand dollars a month like other bootcamps demanded, unlike TripleTen, where I could take a two-year installment plan.


As I expected, TripleTen pleased me with its interactive learning platform. The course is based on long text readings with interactive theoretical tasks for each topic. The main focus is on project activities. Projects are the final assignments for each sprint, resembling what QA engineer tasks look like in real work. Of course, this is very nice, as more practice means more chances to be successful professionally.


Additionally, there is an opportunity to communicate with teachers in any form - voice in Discord or via correspondence (I chose the latter, as I'm not very confident speaking English). The teachers seemed to me to be professionals in their field. I corresponded frequently with Aleksandr Sokolov. Many thanks to him for his involvement and willingness to help. Other teachers helped more with projects (there are recorded videos for each project).


I am working on the seventh project (out of a total of nine), 'Introduction to JavaScript,' it's very challenging for me, but I'm confident I can handle it, as the reviewer helps me. He provides detailed feedback on each project iteration so I can know precisely where my mistake is.

So, I recently wrapped up my time at Triple Ten Bootcamp, and I gotta say, it was alright. Overall, my experience fell into the solid category. The information they dished out was pretty solid, no doubt about that. But hey, if you ask me, I think diving deeper into the content wouldn't hurt. You know, soak up as much knowledge as humanly possible. After all, learning is a lifelong journey, right?

I wrapped things up around the end of October and now I'm knee-deep in the job hunt. It's a process, but hey, gotta start somewhere, right? So, while I'm still figuring out my next moves, I'll definitely drop another review once I've get the job experience under my belt. I mean, that's probably why you're reading this review, right? As a returning student transitioning into data science, there were five things that were important to me when choosing a bootcamp: 1) part-time, 2) completely online, 3) real-world project experience, 4) reasonable price, 5) stellar career services. If you’re looking for the same, you’re in the right place. As a data science graduate, I can confidently say TripleTen fulfills all five. If you’ve been doing your research, you already know that TripleTen has an online learning platform with coding practice built into the lessons, real-world project experience, and material that is organized into two-week ‘sprints.’ But does it work? Yes! TripleTen allows you to work through the material completely part time and at your own pace. There are no unnecessary deadlines or class lectures to attend. What sold me on TripleTen, were the 16 real-world projects. With each project, you are given a data set and a loose set of guidelines for the task. It is up to you to load the dataset, work through the problem, and write a final report. These projects mimic real-world scenarios and interview questions. On top of that, TripleTen is one of the most affordable bootcamps on the market. During career prep, career coaches review your LinkedIn, resume, and cover letter and offer feedback to make your documents stand out. Then in Career Acceleration you meet with a coach weekly to guide your job search strategy, keep you accountable in the application process, and practice interviews. One thing reviews don’t mention, is the lovely community created on Discord, with tutors, community guides, and peers. I expected a data science education, but I didn’t expect to walk away with a community of friends and support systems. This program was challenging, but it was also very rewarding. I was successful in the data science program partially because of a background in statistics and coding. While surely anyone can do DS, some background in coding or statistics is useful. If you don’t have a background in either, consider an introductory course or two to make sure this path is the right one for you. If you’ve dabbled in statistics or coding and know you love it (or like it enough to make a career of it), then you’ll do great! Read less

Choosing the Triple Ten QA Engineering Bootcamp was initially a nerve-wracking decision for me, especially considering my limited knowledge in the tech field. The catalyst for my career change was the desire to break free from the monotonous 9 to 5 routine, lack of growth opportunities, and a schedule that kept me away from quality time with friends and family. The tutors associated with the program have been instrumental in my learning process. Their expertise, accessibility, and patience have turned what seemed insurmountable into manageable challenges. The collaborative spirit among fellow students has fostered a sense of community and shared learning, where we celebrate successes and navigate difficulties together. The community managers, too, have played a pivotal role, ensuring that the support network extends beyond academic concerns to encompass the holistic well-being of each student.

Transitioning to a career in Software Engineering is a significant challenge, and TripleTen recognizes the difficulties inherent in such a move. They provide crucial support to initiate your journey, offering resources such as tutors, study buddy programs, and regular check-ins from a community manager. My experience as a Project Manager, working closely with engineers and product managers, deepened my interest in the field. This led me to join the program with the aspiration of becoming an engineer, a decision I regret not making earlier in my career.
Completing the 10-month bootcamp in early November stands out as the best decision I've made, solidifying my commitment to and passion for Software Engineering. While TripleTen is highly supportive of career transitions, there are essential considerations before committing:

1. Time Commitment: Despite being advertised as a part-time bootcamp, TripleTen requires a commitment of 20-30 hours per week. I undertook the program while working full-time, which proved to be a significant challenge. Although manageable, it demands substantial commitment and perseverance, involving 2-3 hours every night after work and 10-15 hours on weekends.
2. Learning Style: TripleTen's self-paced structure allows flexibility, with two weeks allocated for each sprint. While this format suited my situation, considering your learning style is crucial. Unlike other bootcamps with scheduled classes, TripleTen's approach may require additional self-directed learning and independent research.

Additional insights:

• Tutors are accessible via Discord, even outside office hours.
• Content is self-paced, with a two-week timeline for each sprint.
• Opportunities for code jams and externships are available, but participation in externships may be unclear and wait-listed.
• Office hours may be crowded, with limited time for individual questions, but some tutors go beyond scheduled hours to help.
• Externship participation may be challenging to secure, and the process is not entirely transparent, potentially based on a wait-list system.

My journey with Triple Ten has definitely challenged me to achieve personal goals. The courses definitely start off easy as you go through the first few sprints. Where I was able to attain and utilize what I’ve learned in order to continue onto the next sprint. I am currently halfway through the curriculum where it does get challenging in some areas as I try to attain all the information on separate areas of coding and utilize each new piece of code into my projects. Triple Ten provides a ton of help needed to continue on if you’re in a bind on your projects. The tutors, grad students or even students currently in the program provide useful information and help which definitely relives stress from my shoulders. Overall I would definitely recommend Triple Ten if you’re looking to get into software engineering. The courses are great so far , the challenges, information, and communication for help is over the top.  Read less

I started TripleTen because I wanted to learn to do something that I could both enjoy and make work with my hearing loss. Their Quality Assurance Engineering program seemed like it would be a great opportunity for me. Not only do I enjoy learning the different methods for finding bugs and reporting them, but a good portion of the lessons tied into my previous experience as a graphic designer.

I found that the TripleTen program also worked well around my day job, and with the limitations I have with my hearing loss. All the lessons are online which made it easy for me to do the reading portions on my lunch breaks and the practice portions when I was at home. Also, many of the sprints and their projects have video tutorials that go with them, as well as a dedicated section on the TripleTen Discord where I was able to ask questions and receive feed back when I needed help. The majority of the videos even let me turn the captions on (again a big deal for me). When I asked a question I was able to receive feedback reasonably quickly, and I never felt as if my questions were unreasonable, even on the occasion where I found the answer on my own within fifteen minutes of asking it in the Discord. 

It's a very self-paced program, and I tend to be super motivated when I'm learning things, so I think I was actually able to finish the course several weeks faster than anticipated. I feel like they give you plenty of time to get things done even while working around every day life and a full time job. 

I will also say that TripleTen is very good about asking for feedback on each section and working to improve their lessons to provide a great experience. I struggles a bit with the JavaScript portion because it was entirely new to me, and I do feel there's room for improvement in how some of that material is presented, but I also feel like my voice was heard when I offered feedback.

My Community Manager also was amazing. She checked in on me regularly, sent me tutorial links when I couldn't find them, helped me work out a problem I had when trying to link my project so the reviewer could see it, and even gave me extra time on one of my project when I had a family emergency. 

The reviewers also gave concise, but clear feedback. I could usually tell exactly what they suggested I needed to work on or correct, and the submission and feedback process for each project was very straightforward with clear instructions. It's normal to take two rounds to get a project passed so please don't feel discouraged if you don't get a project on your first try!

I have not joined the career acceleration program quite yet, but believe me when I say I'm very excited to get some career coaching and start the next step on this journey. Read less

I am currently a student halfway through TripleTens Software Engineering program. 

First and foremost, the curriculum is top-notch. The tutors are not only experts in their respective fields but also excellent educators. The reason why I decided to learn about Data Science/Data Analytics is because I knew that analytical skills with data, finance, or even business are strong skills to develop in an individuals career. I graduated with a Finance degree & started working my first full time tech job for a finance company that involved company data & that is when I realized how much I enjoyed the job/career path. I wanted to expand my knowledge & gain new skills, so I signed up for the Data Analytics program, and after I couple months I decided to switch into the Data Science program to be more STEM focused. I chose TripleTen because of the realistic length of the bootcamp(almost a full year is a good length of time to get a good grip on a tough subject like data science) , and the way their curriculum is set up. You first read the material, & do a couple practice problems. Once you are complete, at the end of the sprint you create a project to show off your skills. That was a big deal for me! I love how I was able to showcase my skills & then post them onto my GitHub. I still use all the TripleTen material today. It is an interactive platform & it is AMAZING they give you LIFE access to the content you paid for. The curriculum & platform is always being updated, so there is something always pulling you back to TripleTen, which is a huge green flag for a bootcamp. I am now obtaining a MS in Information Systems & Technology, so TripleTen has helped me build a foundation of skills which has made my transition into my masters program easier & less stressful. 

I recommend TripleTen to anyone that is interested in coding. They help all their students if they are stuck, & give you extension weeks just in case life gets busy! For those who are just getting started, coding takes time to understand, so be kind to yourself. Coding as a skill is a JOURNEY which will need continual education & practice even after the program. TripleTen brings structure & helps students develop discipline during their studies. In the end, make sure you have fun with it! Not only will you learn how to code, but your problem solving muscle will also get better which is a skill that will help you in the short-term & long-term as well.  Read less

I'm still a student at TripleTen, and I've gone through 9 of the 16 total sprints so far. From the very first one, the information was presented in a clear and effective manner. The theory is comprehensive without being overwhelming, and the exercises are great reinforcement of each of the theory segments. The projects at the end of each sprint are direct applications of the information presented in the chapter, with just enough challenge to push your skills and solidify your learning. There's just enough guidance to let you figure out things own your own, or get help from tutors. 

Each sprint builds on past material very well, advancing your knowledge as the program goes along. The community support and engagement is great as well. Community managers and tutors are super responsive and helpful; the scheduled office hours for students to have a planned time to ask for help and questions are very useful as well. The tutors are very knowledgeable; they're always willing to help, and explain ideas beyond the scope of projects or sprints.

TripleTen has been a great experience so far, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get into software engineering.  Read less

I joined practicum (now TripleTen) after deciding to take a serious next step towards a career change. I was looking for a bootcamp that could fulfill a few things. I wanted it to be a strong bootcamp, with flexible hours. I work a full time job, and many other commitments, so finding something that was flexible was one of my top priorities. Many other bootcamps require you to join a live coding class, which I think is extremely helpful, but hard to commit to when you have other responsibilities. TripleTen allows me to work on my own schedule. I also find the coursework to be extremely strong, and progresses from easily to very difficult, which allows you to become accustomed to the platform, coding and learning. The community of learners is super strong helpful and encouraging. I have started close relationships with other students which has allowed me to 1) grow my network, 2) make friends in the field, and 3) get support from other students. We have created a community where we come together to support each other. The tutors are super helpful and are often available at many different hours of the day. Read less

I was hesitant to trust bootcamps or courses and had been searching for a company that I felt was legitimate and truly offered real-world skills. After interviewing multiple recruiters from various organizations, I decided to go with TripleTen(formerly Practicum) as their structure seemed best fit for my life. I was skeptical of ANY bootcamp that they would provide the skills I was searching for to be competitive in this field. After completing multiple steps of the Software Engineer course, it's safe to say I am thrilled that I made the decision to go with TripleTen. At December 2022 I started Software Engineering program with Practicum. Since this moment alot of things has changed, the program is so organized and well developed with a way that makes you amazed of how fast you have developed as a programmer. The amount of support you have from tutors and comunity managers is awesome, all I can say is people who work over there are really welling to help and they like doing so which is in my opinion, the most important trait that makes an educational platform success. Practicum is a great learning environment for those who need a learning structure. I'm trying to change careers and tried to learn programming by myself but began to wonder what I knew verses what I didn't know. That's when I found Practicum. It's curriculum is great and seems to always be improving! I'm able to get help from the tutors, go to office hours if I'm struggling and the projects focus on real-world projects. The career team is also helping me advance my future career by giving me tips on my resume, portfolio and cover letters! Without Practicum, I would still be stuck trying to figure out what I needed to learn to break into the workforce of programming. Read less

I joined Practicum Software Engineer bootcamp with the sole purpose of learning end to end web development. I tried many programs (from youtube videos to other freely available bootcamps) to get minimum knowledge in web development. In all these programs, I felt that a methodical approach is missing. I know that I can easily create a website following some youtube tutorials. But such websites are not professionally implemented, and are very difficult to maintain. For instance while styling websites, we should follow a methodology like BEM to create well maintainable websites. Practicum has the state of the art methodologies to implement real websites for businesses. I tried Practicum's free code camp (the first module), and was impressed that they have an excellent program that could help me to create professional websites. After my free trial, I immediately switched to the paid program, and I am quite satisfied with my decision. If you are serious about developing professional websites, please do not waste your time in following youtube tutorials or some freely available bootcamps. Unless you do hands-on work and get the feedback on your work, you are not on the right path to success. Practicum's curriculum has the right balance of theory and practice. In each sprint you will be given some study material with exercises, and you will also work on a project, which will be professionally evaluated. The project work in each sprint will reinforce your learnings. Consider Practicum if you have these goals and traits: 1. You want to develop professional websites 2. The program does not have video lessons (or have very limited videos). You should be comfortable in studying the text material rendered via practicum website. 3. You are not discouraged by the feedback you get highlighting the mistakes in your logic/code in each sprint. 4. You seriously looking to start a career as a Software Engineer 5. You are ready to spend at least 10 hours a week on the program Read less

I am a full-time employee working at Uber and some other companies that use the same business model. The reason I decided to become a programmer started a few years ago, thing that became a little bit difficult since I had to move from my home country. I used to study using Udemy platform, and I can already tell the difference between the two courses, in practicum you have assistance 24/7 from tutors located all over the world and the country. The course has a wide curriculum for you to have in your personal portfolio but also varies the projects every certain amount of time. The career acceleration program seems something super useful, in which you have somebody help you land your first job in this awesome career. Read less
