I was skeptical about coding until I came across TECH I.S. It is an excellent institution for learning to code. The lessons are broken down into bite-size chunks and are easy to process. There is a 24-hour support team that is acquainted with diverse knowledge of web development and data science. I liked the boot camp because it was flexible with the daily routine of an 8-hour workday. TECH I.S. offers great networking opportunities and helped me attend my interview with IT companies. There is a good amount of self-study and independent learning involved, so to do the program virtually I would recommend having strong self-discipline to complete coursework at home. Learning Python, HTML, and CSS at the very beginning of my course was awesome because I felt that it was going to be far more difficult! I'm not exactly sure what's going on with this so-called boot camp, hopefully my experience will help prevent someone else from wasting their time. Brief back story I've worked in the financial industry many years and thought it would be a good idea to move into tech. I did a search and came across this "school". I went to the site and it seemed legit so I scheduled a booking to meet with a counselor. Afterwards, I received a message that I would get a call and zoom link sent 30 minutes before the meeting. Although, in spite of receiving a couple of automated remainders via email a few days before the meeting, neither the link or call ever came. 

I tried sending a message for the link 15 minutes before said meeting to their "customer support" but never heard back and the meeting time came and went. I actually went against my better judgement as this was the second time trying to schedule with this place, since I thought not hearing back the first time may have only been a fluke. However, it is not. This is standard operating procedure for TECH I.S. and I'm not wasting my time again with this joke of a company and I advise you not to waste yours either! Read less

To begin with, I had a great time here and learned a lot related to programming. Techis is giving me a lot of support throughout my study and has started my interview training along the main course. Tech IS is by far the best choice that I have taken to go deeper and build an excellent web development foundation. The training provided is sure to help you achieve success in the bootcamp. The tutors are always available throughout the day to provide support with any doubts, and the peer group, in general, is also supportive. I have chosen the full-time bootcamp and spend around 2 - 3 hours per day, and yet I can cover most of the essential topics necessary for working in a tech company. I started Tech is’ web development course with very little knowledge about HTML and CSS. The course was challenging for me but an overall success because it is teaching me what I wanted.

If I had to point out a negative, the remote class can be difficult if you are easily distracted. But, if you are someone who can learn from the comfort of their house, I would highly recommend it. I recently got laid off in the pandemic and wanted to restart my career. After considering all the options I had, I decided to learn to code and took up Tech is’s class from September 2020 as per my friend’s suggestion. 
Their course takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months. Since I had some previous coding experience during my schooling, I am likely going to complete my course in another 1 or 2 months. The tutors are well experienced and the rapport between them is effective.

Pros:-Excellent class structure and accountability to help students be on track.-Good pacing and balance between learning material and practical project work. -I was happy to be connected with the teachers and career counselors who constantly monitored my progress-Great study material that was focused on what companies are currently looking for in an applicant.
Cons: I felt that certain subjects are still a little rough and need refining. Specifically, how I was taught Node during my session was rough and kind of backward. They are actively working on restructuring the curriculum. Hopefully, new students shouldn’t be facing a problem. Read less

Is Tech IS perfect? Well no. No education institute is. However, do I believe that Tech IS can get you where you want to be in terms of a tech career if you put in the efforts? Yes

I joined the Tech IS data science program with just 1 simple goal. To give me enough experience to get access to jobs that I previously had no access to. All things said and done; Tech IS has helped me get a job that’s significantly above my previous pay grade.
